Sunday, June 5

12:07 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that she had been body-slammed by her boyfriend and father of her child. She said that they had been arguing all evening and at one point he suggested that they go their separate ways. She said she tried to leave the room and he grabbed her, picked her up and slammed her on the floor. She said she was in extreme pain and was unable to call for help for about 10 minutes. A warrant was issued against the boyfriend for domestic violence and assault.

4:15 a.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a fight involving 8-10 people. One male victim appeared to have substantial injuries to his face and hands. As the deputy approached other victims, he heard a diesel truck leaving at a high rate of speed. Other incoming units were alerted to watch for the truck. A woman, who was very distraught, could not identify any of the suspects. She said she and the male victim had left a party and that the suspects were there. The male victim said he was pulled from the seat of his vehicle and was beaten by several individuals. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Bethel Twp. Medics. Another witness said that she was sleeping in the back seat of her vehicle when she heard her back window being broken out and the fight going on. She was able to identify possible suspects. Another victim said that he was struck, but did not want to give any information about the suspects. Other witnesses said that he knew more about the suspects than anyone else. He was checked out by Medics but refused transport to a hospital.

9:22 a.m. To Rawson Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her boyfriend got mad at her and smacked her in the head about five times and left bumps on her forehead. She said he also grabbed her arm, leaving a small bruise. Her 11-year-old son stated that he saw the boyfriend strike his mother five times in the head. The boyfriend was taken into custody and was charged with felony domestic violence and assault.

10:31 a.m. to N. Main St. at Funston Ave. for a report of an accident. A driver was turning right from Funston Ave. onto Main St., turned too wide and struck a vehicle northbound on Main St. She said that she was talking on her cell phone and was hanging it up when she made the turn. She was charged with failure to control.

10:44 a.m. To Spangler Rd. A woman reported that she is in the process of moving out and her son has locked her out of the kitchen so she cannot take her medication. The son said that she was served with an eviction notice and was to be out by June 2, but has not attempted to move. He also advised that her medication was not in the kitchen. The woman said that her medication was upstairs, but she needed into the kitchen to get her tea so she could take the medication. The son left the kitchen available to her.

12:11 p.m. To Troy Rd. for a report of menacing. A man reported that his estranged wife has sent him texts stating that she is going to have a “hit” put on his work truck and that he would lose one of his hands. He said that she has threatened to destroy his world. He asked about a protection order and was given information on obtaining one.

8:30 p.m. To Osborn Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver had slid off the road at the curve and struck a guard rail. A witness said they saw a female driver walk toward Gerlaugh Rd., but the deputy did not see her. The driver’s purse and ID were in the car. The deputy called the driver and she was sobbing on the phone, saying that her grandmother’s car had crashed. She could not provide details of the crash. She was cited for failure to control.

Monday, June 6

7:52 a.m. To W. Washington St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her son was high and was tearing up the house looking for money. The son said that he was not on anything and was going to a friend’s home in Park Layne to spend the night. He left the residence on foot.

1:19 p.m. To E. Main St., Medway. A woman reported that her husband became angry over her recent purchase of an outdoor air conditioner and a new well. She said that she thought it would be a good purchase since they have a newborn child. She said her husband, who controls all of the spending, came home and became angered. She said he took a garden hoe and began tearing out the recently planted flowers and vegetables and destroyed the entire crop. She asked that the deputy speak to her husband hoping he would change his attitude.

4:00 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. While enroute, the deputy was informed that the male subject involved had active warrants. A woman reported that she was involved in an argument with her boyfriend over scrapping items from the residence. She said that the argument did not become physical and that he had left the residence. She gave permission to search the residence, and the boyfriend was found hiding behind a couch. He was arrested for the warrants and taken to the Clark County Jail.

6:03 p.m. To W. Main St., Medway, for a report of a hit-skip crash. A vehicle had struck a light pole and left the scene.

6:31 p.m. To Whaley Rd. A woman reported that termite inspectors found a copper round from a firearm in her home. There was no evidence that the round had struck the home. It was taken into evidence.

7:15 p.m. To Hemlock Way. A woman reported that a male friend left his vehicle in her driveway several months ago. She said that she has contacted him several times to get his vehicle and that he responds saying that the bank is coming to pick it up. She and a friend had pushed the vehicle onto the street in front of her home. The tags were expired, so he was cited for expired tags and a 24-hour notice was placed on the vehicle. Attempts to contact the man were unsuccessful.

10:58 p.m. To the 1600 block of Styer Dr. for a report of an accident. An eastbound vehicle struck a parked vehicle and left the scene. The driver drove to his residence and pulled into his front yard on Chalet Dr. and struck several bushes in his yard. The deputy arrived at the Chalet Dr. residence and found the driver trying to hide something inside the vehicle. The driver emitted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and had slurred speech. He admitted to drinking tonight. He failed field sobriety tests and was charged with hit-skip, failure to control and OVI.

11:08 p.m. A N. Church St. woman came to the Sheriff’s office to report that her husband punched her in the nose while she was sitting on the couch. She said he pushed her back into the couch and hurt her shoulder. She said she left for her sister’s home in Springfield and he followed her. She said he pushed her down and she hit her head on a wall. Springfield PD filed a report on the incident at the sister’s home and warrants were issued against the husband. She said she wanted to file charges for the incident in New Carlisle.

Tuesday, June 7

3:09 a.m. To Bowser Dr. for a report of a man vomiting on the street. Deputies arrived to find the man crawling on the street. He said that he was looking for gold. He walked over to a storm drain, started splashing in the water and said “look at all of this gold!” He said he wanted to show the deputy the gold that he had collected, then showed mud, grass and other debris. He said that he has been drinking, but has not done any drugs. He was transported to the Clark County Jail for disorderly conduct. As he was getting out of the cruiser, a small zip lock bag fell out. The deputy asked what was in the bag and the man said “It looks like meth to me.” He said that a girl that he was with earlier had planted it on him. He was also charged with tampering with evidence and charges of possession of crystal meth are pending.

9:28 a.m. To Hartley Ave. for a report of an unwanted guest. A woman reported that her 21-year-old son had been staying with her. She said that she returned home for work and found him wearing clothes that she had bought for her younger son and an argument began. She said he kicked the coffee table over and backed her into a corner, then left. She said that she would be contacting the landlord to have him trespassed from the property and wanted the incident documented. She was given information on obtaining a protection order.

10:55 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a private property crash. A man reported that he noticed damage to the rear bumper of his vehicle. He said that a box truck had been parked near him and had backed into his vehicle. He said he did not see it, and there were no witnesses. The driver of the truck was located and he said that he did not back into any object. His passenger reinforced the driver’s statement. The man requested a report for his insurance company.

4:22 p.m. To Hemlock Way to assist a parole officer in a search for drugs. The parole officer said that the resident had narcotics in the residence. A pill bottle containing an unknown substance was located, along with a large amount of latex gloves. The resident was located in Park Layne and was arrested by Adult Parole Authority. He said he didn’t know what the substance in the pill bottle was. Charges are pending lab results.

8:09 p.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of trespassers. A man reported that he observed four subjects fishing in a pond on the property that he was hired to guard. The suspects were unaware that they were not supposed to be on the property. They were asked to leave and advised that if they returned, they could be charged with trespassing.

8:56 p.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of motorcycles speeding in the area. A man reported that there have been several incidents in which he has seen street style motorcycles speeding down Stratmore St. He said that on one instance, he threw his hammer at them with no intention of hitting them. He said that an SUV then stopped in front of his home and the driver said that if he threw a hammer at his friends again, he would suffer bodily harm. He asked that the incidents be documented.

9:55 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. A woman reported that her husband was at their home and was “not acting right.” She believed that he had injested too much Xanax. Deputies arrived to find New Carlisle EMS on the scene. Medics reported that they found the husband lying on a floor, unconscious. Medics said they awoke him and he started thrashing around until he realized who was there and calmed down. There was evidence in the kitchen that a domestic disturbance had taken place. The deputy found a clear plastic baggy containing several white crystals, believed to be Methamphetamines. The man said he knew nothing about it. The wife stated that he returned home from fishing with a friend, went into the bedroom, then emerged and was acting very strangely. She said he went into the kitchen and was breaking plates and had a facial expression she had never seen. She said she left the residence to avoid a confrontation. The husband then stated that about $4500 was missing from his bedroom. He said he believed someone had drugged him to take his money. He said his fishing friend was the only one who knew where he kept his money. He said that whoever took the money also left the baggie of crystals in plain view.

11:19 p.m. To Troy Rd. to assist Pike Twp. Medics on a possible heroin overdose involving two male subjects. A woman called to report that her husband and his brother were passed out in the kitchen and that she believed that they had overdosed on heroin. She was trying to console their 7-year-old son who was upset and crying. Medics administered Narcan and they came around. The brother was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center, the husband refused treatment. The husband insisted that he does not use heroin and that all he did today was drink a lot. There was no evidence of drugs or paraphernalia in the home.

11:56 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of vandalism. A store employee reported that two men had entered the store, went into the restroom and emerged after about 10 minutes. Another man who had been waiting to use the restroom went in and found that the walls had been spray painted. The employee confronted the two men in the lot and asked if they damaged the restroom. A license number was obtained and a copy of surveillance video will be burned to CD when the store manager arrives.

Wednesday, June 8

12:57 p.m. To W. Main St., Medway, for a report of child endangering. A woman reported that her boyfriend administered corporal punishment to her 2-year-old daughter with a belt. She asked if the deputy could make him leave the home. The deputy asked her to complete a statement while he went to his car to get his camera and contact his Sergeant. While in the car, the woman left the building with her daughter. She said “If you guys aren’t going to do anything, I’ll just go stay with my sister.” The deputy tried to explain the investigative process and tried to get her to stay, but she left.

6:20 p.m. To Bookwalter Dr. for a report of a found item. A man reported that a bicycle had been parked across the street from his residence all day. He said he asked neighbors, but none of them recognized it. It was tagged for pick-up.

7:30 p.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a theft. A man reported that he was placed in a nursing home for a medical condition. He said that when he returned home, he found his BB guns missing. He said that his girlfriend’s son admitted to having the guns but hasn’t returned them. At the RP’s request, the deputy left a statement form for him to fill out.

8:45 p.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of burglary. A man reported that he had to evict his tenant for causing major damage to the residence. The owner said that she was at the residence for 90 minutes with an insurance adjuster, and when she left the residence was locked with a dead bolt. She said that when she returned at 6:15 p.m., the door was ajar. She said she had to return to allow a woman in to get her juvenile son’s medication. She said that the tenant was the only other person who had access to the residence. The woman who came to get the medication said she is related to the tenant and that she was staying there while the tenant was out of the country. She said that when she came to get the medication, some was missing and several pills were scattered all over the kitchen floor. The RP also reported that his lawn mower was stolen. He said he allowed the tenant to use it while she lived there. The tenant was seen loading the lawn mower into her U-Haul when she moved out.

9:55 p.m. To Addison-Carlisle Rd. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that her daughter came downstairs and began screaming and cursing at her. She said that the argument was over the daughter having to help with the household bills. She said that there was no physical activity involved. She said she would like for deputies to speak with her about not acting that way in her home. The daughter said they argued because her mother has anger issues. She said she would be leaving the residence for the night.

Thursday, June 9

2:46 a.m. To Galewood Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her boyfriend said he wanted to break up, and when she did not react the way he expected, he continued to make her mad to get a reaction out of her. The boyfriend said he got upset when he told her that he wanted to break up and continued to provoke her to start a fight. He said that he was not going to bother her any more tonight. Both parties were advised to remain separated until they could talk to each other reasonably.

Friday, June 10

3:21 a.m. To N. Scott St. for a report of criminal damaging. A man reported that someone threw a bolt and nut through his front window. He said he did not hear or see anything out of the ordinary. The bolt was placed into property.

10:53 a.m. Traffic stop on E. Lake Ave. at Brubaker Dr. The driver was found to be under several suspensions. The plates were seized.

3:48 p.m. To S. Scott St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a woman said that the deputy need not be there, and she could not understand why he was called. The woman who rents the home said she allowed the woman to stay there because she has no other place to stay. She said that they have been arguing and she wants the woman to leave. She was advised to start the eviction process so she can be at peace in her home. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other for the night.

4:45 p.m. While on patrol on Rawson Dr., a woman flagged the deputy down to report that she found two birth certificates in front of her residence. Dispatch was unable to contact the owners.

7:34 p.m. While parked at the Bethel Twp. fire house, the deputy saw a driver that he knew wa suspended. He tried to catch up with the driver who appeared to be trying to lose the deputy. He was stopped on Park Rd. near Beach Dr. and had bloodshot eyes and droopy eyelids and spoke with slow thick speech. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for suspicion of OVI. The deputy checked the vehicle and found a glass of alcohol between the seats. He was charged with OVI, driving under suspension and open container.

9:06 p.m. Traffic stop on Rt. 571 at Milton-Carlisle Rd. The deputy recognized the driver from previous contact and knew that his license was suspended and that he was a meth user. The driver gave the deputy a false name. He had to think about the spelling of the false name. While patting him down for weapons, the deputy felt a large item in his pocket. He pulled it out and a meth stem with meth in it fell to the ground. The driver was advised that he was being cuffed and detained until the deputy could determine who he was, and the driver pulled away and tried to run. The deputy held his wrist, the driver spun around and both fell to the ground. The deputy then pulled his taser and ordered the driver to stop resisting and put his hands behind his back. The driver was found to have felony warrants for receiving stolen property from both Clark and Miami counties. He was arrested on the warrants and also charged with obstructing official business, obstructing justice, falsification, identity fraud, resisting arrest and possession of drugs. A search of his vehicle yielded another meth pipe. He failed field sobriety tests, and was also charged with OVI and driving under suspension.

9:30 p.m. To the 200 block of Fenwick Dr. for a report of an accident. A driver backed out of a driveway and struck another vehicle, then left the scene.

10:05 p.m. To Oaklawn Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman advised that they are going through a divorce. She said that her husband came to the residence to return their child when he became angry about her dating another man and began yelling. She said he took a step toward the door, so she closed it. She said she thinks he punched the door, but is not sure. The husband said that he brought the child home and wanted to talk to her about the man she was dating. He said the conversation turned angry and that is when she slammed the door in his face. He said that his thumb got caught in the door, but believes it was accidental. Neither party wished to file charges. Both were advised to contact deputies for future child exchanges.

Saturday, June 11

10:09 a.m. A Sigler Rd. resident called to report that someone had used his credit card in Delaware. He said he never lost the card, but someone had the number. He said that the bank has cancelled his card and requested a police report.

12:52 p.m. To Osborn & Lower Valley for a report of trespassers. Three subjects were found fishing on private property. The owner asked that they be trespassed from the property. The subjects were advised that if they were found on the property again, they would be charged.

6:08 p.m. To N. Medway-Carlisle Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone broke out the rear window of her vehicle and took a bag containing miscellaneous toiletries and other items

Friday, June 10

10:23 a.m. Burglary reported in the 8500 block of S. State Route 202.

Saturday, June 11

7:56 p.m. Theft reported in the 6600 block of Singer Road. RP said he had a male and female that has an RV parked in his yard. He does allow them to enter his residence to do laundry. RP had recently noticed some items missing and on this day he had confronted them and they denied taking any of the missing items. Checking the names through LEADS found the male, identified as Andrew S. Gross had pawned items. Deputy spoke with Gross and the female. Gross did admit to taking some items from the house and pawning them. Gross willing filled out a statement and was issued a citation for theft.

Tuesday, June 14

9:02 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of Flick Road and US Route 40

9:21 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 202 and E. State Route 571.

10:15 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 201 and Studebaker Road.

11:14 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of Rudy Road and E. State Route 571.

11:55 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 202 and E. State Route 571.

1:59 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 202 and E. State Route 571.

6:15 p.m. Traffic stop for no front license plate in the 9700 block of Palmer Road. Driver was identified as Brock Bailey. Bailey advised Deputy that he did not have a driver’s license. Bailey was cited for no front plate and no operator’s license. Vehicle was towed and Bailey was picked up by a valid driver.

7:18 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 7100 block of Ross Road.

Wednesday, June 15

3:44 p.m. Welfare check in the 5200 block of Rudy Road. A male was found located at the rear of a property sitting under a tree. The male was intoxicated and holding a handgun. Negotiations were conduct and the male eventually tossed the weapon away. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment..
