When you’re in town this weekend to enjoy what’s going on at the Farmers Market Saturday morning, be sure to stop by the featured booth near the New Carlisle News office. It will be occupied by Bethel Churches United (BCU) representatives and they have a lot to share with you, including a tri-fold that explains about the various BCU ministries, most notable of which is the Food Pantry on Pike Street across from New Carlisle First United Methodist Church.
However, there is so much more to know about BCU. Flyers will be available that explain about the upcoming annual 5K CROP Hunger Walk (August 28); the annual Tractor Show at Meadowview Growers (September 10), where we will provide free food and beverages and all proceeds from the show benefit the Food Pantry; and the newest ministry, Cancer Companions, wherein BCU is partnering with DayView-VANCREST to provide a periodic forum for patients and care givers to “share God’s presence in your cancer journey.” In addition to sharing our faith and hope, we will be providing valuable information on various resources that are readily available to help families afflicted by cancer as well as those in recovery.
When you pick up your free hot dog and bottle of water and are greeted by Coco the Clown, a food barrel will be available to collect donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items.
