On May 21, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., the New Carlisle Public Library will host a job fair to assist area residents in finding a job. Several local employers have agreed to participate including Adecco (a staffing firm), Primerica, Panera Bread, Staffmark, First Diversity Life Services, Wellness Advocacy, Menards, and more. Managers from each of the firms will be available to conduct on-site interviews. For a chance to be hired on the spot, participants should be dressed in business attire and bring multiple copies of their resumes to give to the businesses.

If an interested participant does not have a current resume, the library is offering a resume preparation workshop on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to help update or create a professional resume for interested parties. Participants should come prepared with basic information on their work experience. This should include information on their education and training, work experience with job titles, dates and responsibilities, internships, volunteer experiences, awards, memberships, skills and strengths, and references.

The participants will be able to choose from several different formats for their resume depending on what best serves their needs. Options include entry-level, functional, chronological, or a combination resume.

Printing services are available at the library for $0.10 per black and white page. In addition, participants should bring a USB thumb drive on which to save their finished resume for future use. This session is not a prerequisite for participating in the Job Fair.

If you just want buff up the resume, or explore job opportunities, visit the New Carlisle Public Library on May 12 and 21, 2016. Call the library at 845-3601 for more information
