Today the board of county commissioners announced the selection of Jennifer Hutchinson as the new county administrator. She will take the helm September 12. Hutchinson has an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. She currently serves as the finance director/deputy city manager for the City of Marysville. She has more than 15 years of service in state and local government.

Hutchinson said, “I am extremely excited to continue my career with Clark County and eagerly await the new challenges of this position. I feel with my extensive government background that I can be a valuable asset to the County. I look forward to working with the Commissioners and their excellent team.”

Commissioner Lohnes said, “We are glad to have found someone with her public financing experience and credentials. We are pleased that she is a resident of the County. We look forward to a great future with her in Clark County.”

Commissioner Detrick stated, “I am very excited, we have hired a person who is very sharp in finance. We are looking forward to keeping Clark County as the very well run government it is, maintaining our good bond rating, being proactive, and continuing to be a positive influence in the community.”

Commissioner Herier added, “We are pleased to welcome Ms. Hutchinson to Clark County as she chose this as her home before interviewing for this position. We feel blessed to have found someone whose skills match those needed by Clark County at this time.”

Hutchinson is the third county administrator in the history of Clark County, following Nathan Kennedy who served as county administrator for 5 ½ years. Kennedy left August 5 for a position in Snohomish County Washington.
