Starting on September 23, 2015, New Carlisle Public Library will offer a two-session program to assist area residents to find a job. On Wednesday, September 23, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Bonnie L. McHenry will conduct a session designed to help residents create resumes to assist in finding a job. Interested participants should come prepared with basic information on their work experience. This should include information on their education and training, work experience with job titles, dates and responsibilities, internships, volunteer experiences, awards, memberships, skills and strengths, memberships, and references.

The participants will be able to choose from several different formats for their resume depending on what best serves their needs. Options include entry-level, functional, chronological, or a combination resume.

Printing services are available at the library for $0.10 per black and white page. In addition, participants should bring a USB thumb drive on which to save their finished resume for future use. This session is not a prerequisite for participating in the Job Fair.

The second session on September 26, 2015 will feature a Job Fair at the library from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Several local employers have agreed to participate including Panera Bread, Adecco (a staffing firm), Menards, Staffmark, and Comfort Keepers. The library staff continues to look for area businesses to participate. If a business is interested in participating, it should contact Tillie Jamison at the New Carlisle Public Library at (937) 845-3601.

If you just want buff up the resume, or explore other job opportunities, join the New Carlisle Public Library in their outreach to employers and potential employees on September 23 and 26, 2015.
