The new Clark County SPCA will be holding a unique fundraiser on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11 to help get the building remodeled and the doors open by late spring. This is a chance to get out of the house and enjoy a good ole fashion treasure hunt for items you can use or repurpose into a Pinterst project while supporting the animal education program in Clark County.

Director Krissi Hawke reported that The Whole Kitten Kaboodle will be an indoor treasure hunt where you can find anything from exercise equipment to gently used clothing and household items. The organization has also received some furniture items from generous volunteers and friends of the organization.

The event is being held at the under construction SPCA building located at 21 Walter Street in Springfield where the “garage sale” items will be on display and ready for sale beginning at Noon. The doors will close at 6 pm so you have plenty of time to stop after work on Friday.

The SPCA will be supporting pet education in the local schools. Eventually they will be able to assist residents who find the need to rehome their cats or dogs due to unforeseen medical or housing concerns. This will not be a shelter for strays in the community. The Clark County Dog Warden continues to work with the Humane Society for this purpose.

Hawke hopes that everyone will take time to stop by the sale and check out the “treasures” that have been donated to help the organization to get a start in the community.

If you would like to donate an item, you can contact the SPCA at 925-6602. All items need to be in clean and ready for resale. NO clothing will be accepted for this sale. Items that are electronic need to be in good working condition for resale.

Donations of gift cards to Lowes or Home Depot are also still needed for the remodeling fund.
