Four people were injured in a three-car collision at Rt. 40 and Tecumseh Rd. Monday evening.

According to the Ohio State Patrol, a silver Toyota was southbound on Tecumseh Rd shortly after 6pm. “The driver stopped for the stop sign, but entered the intersection in the path of a westbound Ford Taurus,” said Sgt. Richard Dixon of the Ohio State Patrol.

The Taurus swerved to try to miss the Toyota, but still struck it, sending it into the driveway of the former Ft. Tecumseh General Store.

The force of the collision sent the Taurus into the Eastbound lane and it struck another vehicle.

Dixon said the driver of the Toyota would be charged with failure to yield.

Three of the victims were transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center and the fourth requested transport to Miami Valley Hospital.

The Bethel Township Fire Department requested extra squads from Mad River/Enon and from Springfield Township.
