The early season struggles continued for the Tecumseh boys’ basketball team, as they dropped a pair of games last week to fall to 1-4 on the early season. After a slim one-point win against Kenton Ridge, the Arrows lost to conference foe Shawnee 52-48, then lost a home game on Saturday night, as they lost to Stebbins 49-39.

Tecumseh remains tied for second overall in the Kenton Trail Division with a 1-1 record, as three teams all trail the division leaders from Bellefontaine heading into Christmas.

Against the Shawnee Braves, the Arrows jumped out to a 17-9 lead after the opening period, only to see their offense struggle in the second quarter, only scoring five points, giving up 15 and trailed the Braves 24-22 at the half.

Despite an evenly played second half, the Arrows could not put together enough offense to get the win,

Offensively, the Arrows were led by Reid Hale, who scored a game high 15 points, and was the only player for Tecumseh to reach double figures.

Finishing with nine points was Ross Warren, while Devin Altop added eight points off the bench, with six points each from Brody Martin and Clay Mastin. Martin also dished out four assists.

*Also last week, the Arrows lost to Stebbins by ten, and it all could be pointing toward a disastrous third period.

After taking a 16-11 lead after the first period, the Arrows maintained their lead at the half, taking a 27-24 lead at the intermission.

The Arrows offense was non-existent in the next eight minutes, being held without a field goal, and being outscored 15-1 to quickly fall behind 39-28 going to the fourth quarter, where the Indians maintained their lead and sent the Arrows down to a 49-39 defeat.

Hale was productive in the game, scoring 20 points including five three-point shots, along with 11 rebounds for the Arrows. Also scoring in double figures was Mastin who scored ten. Nobody else on the Arrows roster could muster more than one field goal, as the Indians escaped with the win.

Mastin did add five assists for the Arrows.

Friday night, the Arrows hosted Northwestern for a crossover game in the CBC, trying to earn their first conference win on the season.
