Sunday 1/31

1:02 p.m. A Firwood Dr. resident called to report that he paid his bill at a business and did not leave a tip. He said that when he checked his account, he found that $20 had been added to the bill. He said he contacted his bank and they requested a police report.

1:16 p.m. While patrolling on Lake Rd., a deputy saw a man and a woman walking southbound. The woman was carrying several bags in her hands. The deputy turned around to check on them and could not find the woman, however her bags were on the side of the road. The man identified the woman as his wife and did not know why she dropped her bags and fled. Other deputies patrolled the area but could not find her. The bags and their contents were submitted into property.

6:22 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his wife were involved in a verbal argument after his wife accused him of seeing another woman. He said that she took his phone and threw it in the yard. He said that the argument did not become physical and that his wife was in the process of moving out. The wife admitted to throwing his phone because she was upset that he might be seeing someone else. Both parties agreed to stay in separate parts of the house for the night.

6:45 p.m. To Hemlock Way for a report of an unwanted guest. A woman reported that her aunt was at her residence with her grandfather, and that she did not want her aunt there. The aunt had left before the deputy arrived. As the deputy was leaving, the grandfather said he wanted to file a report regarding $690 that the aunt stole from him. He was unsure about the details, but said it probably happened last summer. He said he did not want to report it, but is tired of the aunt stealing from him. He has no evidence that the aunt stole the money, but said that he knew it was her because no one else would do anything like that. He was advised that there was not enough information to charge the aunt with theft. They were advised to call back if the aunt returned.

8:08 p.m. To Madison St. for a report of a domestic dispute. A man reported that he was arguing with his wife because he had reason to believe that she was talking to another man. He said he confronted her and she got angry and left the residence. He said the dog got out as she was leaving and he was afraid that she would run over the dog, so he was banging on her side mirror to get her attention and broke it. The wife reported that her husband was trying to discuss an issue with her, but he was angry and aggressive and she did not want to talk to him. Both parties were already separated for the evening.

Monday 2/1

1:44 a.m. To Woodglen Ln. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that she and her boyfriend were having a verbal argument and things got out of control but did not become violent. She said that she and her boyfriend were having some ongoing issues that they were trying to work out. The boyfriend was found to have an outstanding warrant, and was transported to the Clark County Jail.

8:08 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a possible intoxicated driver asleep in his vehicle. The vehicle was found and the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was transported to the hospital where his blood was taken to be sent to the lab.

11:45 a.m. To Lake Ave. at Church St. for a report of an accident. A driver on Church St. pulled out in front of a driver eastbound on Lake Ave. They collided and both vehicles sustained damages. Both had to be towed. The Church St. driver was cited for failure to yield.

12:30 p.m. To Langdale Ave. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone made $140 charge on her credit card without her permission. She said she contacted the company and found that shipment was made to Nedley, Florida. There are no suspects.

12:50 p.m. To N. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone took four sets of rims and tires, a canvas top and a hood from a vehicle parked on his property. There are no suspects.

6:07 p.m. To Rawson Dr. A man reported that his daughter took his vehicle after he told her that she could not use it. He said he did not wish to press charges.

7:34 p.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of menacing. A man reported that his neighbor has been harassing him since last summer. He said that he was walking across the street today and the neighbor threatened him. He requested a report and information on obtaining a protection order.

8:05 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A store manager said she heard a male subject yell at someone telling them to stop because they had just stolen merchandise. Surveillance video showed the suspect arriving in a white truck, entered the store and leaving with merchandise concealed under his coat. A German Twp. Police officer on the scene tried to stop the suspect, but the truck headed south on Main St. The manager said she would provide a copy of the video to detectives.

10:38 p.m. To Falcon Dr. for a report of an assault. A man reported that his girlfriend because upset when he asked her about text messages on her phone. He said she “kicked, hit, scratched and punched” him. He said he was trying to get away from her and she jumped on his back. He said he locked himself in the bathroom to look at the phone further. After a few minutes, he came out of the bathroom and confronted her. After arguing for several minutes, she left the residence. A warrant was issued for the girlfriend for one count of misdemeanor Domestic Violence and one count misdemeanor Assault.

11:29 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that when she and her boyfriend returned home, they found the back door screen had been removed and the door opened. They found a .38 cal revolver and 40 rounds of ammunition missing. Further investigation revealed that a hunting knife was also missing. Both said that they knew people capable of the theft but had no definite suspects.

Tuesday 2/2

12:49 a.m. To Revere Dr. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that she and her husband have been having relationship issues lately, and that they were arguing after she questioned his loyalty. She said that he caused damage to the residence but did not assault or threaten her. She requested a report and information on filing for a protection order.

7:50 p.m. To Marquart Rd. for a report of a private property crash. A man reported that he saw a vehicle stuck in his wet side yard. There was significant damage to the yard. The driver reported that she missed her turn, pulled into the driveway to turn around, thought the driveway went all around but got stuck in the mud. The man said he would not press charges if the driver paid for the damage to the yard. The driver was cited for driving under suspension.

Wednesday 2/3

3:12 p.m. To Weinland St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in an argument with her boyfriend over the pants that she had put on their 1-year-old son. She said he charged her and took her cell phone while she was recording him. She said he picked her up and body-slammed her onto the coffee table. The boyfriend was arrested on one count of Domestic Violence and one count of Assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

3:29 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was arguing with her daughter for taking herself out of school and had planned on moving to Indiana to be with a boy that she had only met once. The daughter stated that she is 18 and doesn’t want to be in her current environment because they fight all the time. She said that she has been talking with the boy online for over a year and met him once. She was advised of the dangers of meeting someone online, but still wanted to go stay with him. She volunteered to leave and wait for the boy at a neighbor’s home.

9:22 a.m. To Zimmerman St. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone slashed a tire on her vehicle. She suspects some kids that her son is having problems with but has no evidence. She requested a report for her insurance company.

10:35 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of an unwanted guest. A man reported that he went to Springfield to pick up a female friend, then asked her to leave but she would not do so. The woman said that they were arguing over money and that he punched her in the thigh. The man denied hitting her but offered to take her back to Springfield. She agreed.

Thursday 2/4

7:41 a.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he started his vehicle to let it warm up. When he went back outside, it was gone.

9:33 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that sometime in the last five days, a chain saw was taken from the bed of a work truck. He said that he did not know when or where the theft occurred.

9:38 a.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of found property. A man reported that he caught his girlfriend shooting up in the bathroom. He gave deputies an empty syringe and two half-empty clear capsules. The girlfriend said that the needle was not hers but belonged to her diabetic mother. They were advised that charges would not be filed because the syringe was empty and that she was not seen with any of the items. The girlfriend was arrested on an outstanding warrant and taken to the Clark County Jail. The syringes and capsules were taken into evidence to be destroyed.

7:24 p.m. To Zimmerman Rd. A woman reported that she believes that she had been drugged because she hasn’t been able to sleep for two days. New Carlisle Medics arrived and she told them that her heart is racing and that she is having a hard time focusing and sleeping. Her pupils were dilated and slow to respond to light. She seemed to be in a state of excited delirium and had a hard time making sense. EMS personnel recommended that she be taken to the hospital for evaluation. She was at first reluctant to go but finally agreed. A family friend stated that the woman has a history of using drugs.

Friday 2/5

11:32 a.m. A deputy saw a green Jeep parked partially on the roadway on Bischoff Rd. north of New Carlisle Pike. The vehicle had been tagged. A note on the dash advised that the vehicle was overheating and would be towed that day. The vehicle was towed.

3:18 p.m. Traffic stop on Madison & Church Streets. A woman was hiding in the back of the vehicle and was found to have an outstanding warrant. She was also found to have an empty syringe in her pocket. She said the syringe was not hers. She was arrested for the warrant and taken to the Clark County Jail. The syringe was put into evidence to be destroyed.

4:41 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that she broke up with her boyfriend last December and no longer wants anything to do with him. She said he keeps coming to her home at all hours of the night banging on the windows, calling and texting her numerous times. She said he is now calling her children trying to contact her. She said that she is going to file for a protection order on Monday. The deputy tried to call the boyfriend but was unable to get an answer or leave a message.

5:10 p.m. Traffic stop on Osborn Rd. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant and to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and ordered into court.

5:55 p.m. Traffic stop in the 2300 block of Medway Carlisle Rd. The driver was advised that he was stopped because his license was suspended. He said that he had just paid the reinstatement fee. He was advised that BMV still showed him under suspension. A passenger was found to have an outstanding warrant. While being patted down, a purple pipe was found, and he said that there was marijuana and Vicodin pills under the seat. The driver was cited for driving under suspension. The passenger was arrested on the warrant and taken to the Clark County Jail. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of Vicodin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saturday 2/6

9:17 a.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took her purse from her vehicle. She said that she had $250 in cash and her license in her purse. There are no suspects.

4:35 p.m. A deputy saw a man walking down Main St. in Medway who was a suspect in a break-in. He had a metal canister in his pocket that contained several marijuana cigarettes. He was cited for possession of marijuana. It was also determined that he was not the suspect but only resembled him.

Wednesday 2/3

6:04 p.m. Drug offense in the 3700 block of Rudy Road. Mother had found a black case by a bush in the front yard that contained a marijuana pipe, lighter, grinder and two plastic bags with marijuana residue inside. Mother believed that it belonged to her son. The juvenile was retrieved from a friend’s house and he admitted that the items were his. The juvenile was issued a misdemeanor citation for drug paraphernalia. All items were placed into evidence.

Monday 2/8

5:10 p.m. Traffic accident with injury in the area of E. State Route 571 and S. State Route 201. A two vehicle accident resulted in an incoherent female being transported by Bethel EMS to an area hospital. No further information available.

Tuesday 2/9

9:43 a.m. Damage reported in the 7900 block of Singer Road. RP reported an unknown person drove through his yard.

Thursday 2/11

9:59 p.m. Accident with injury reported in the 6700 block of Bethelville Drive. Deputy met with involved parties. One driver, identified as Eric Bailey, claimed he has sustained injuries and was transported to an area medical facility for evaluation. The other driver stated Bailey had asked him to say another person had been driving as his license was under suspension. Deputy responded to the medical facility to speak with Bailey who admitted he had been driving under a suspension. Bailey was issued a citation for failure to reinstate.
