Sunday 1/24

12:34 a.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a loud noise complaint. A woman reported she heard several people being very loud. A neighbor stated that he had friends over and one of them became loud. He said that he made the guest leave. He was advised to keep the noise down and he said he understood.

2:45 a.m. To Sycamore Rd. for a report of phone harassment. A man reported that a male subject keeps calling him stating that the RP’s step-son owes him money. He said that the last few times, the subject threatened to come to his house to collect the money. He wanted the incident documented.

12:48 p.m. To Hartley Ave. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend called her last night for no reason. She said that they broke up over a year ago and that he will not leave her alone. She said that he has called her over 100 times since 9:00 a.m. today. She said that occasionally she will answer and tells him not to call again but he continues. While she was speaking with the deputy, the boyfriend called 30 times. The deputy finally answered, identified himself and that he needed to stop calling or a warrant would be issued for his arrest. The boyfriend stated that the woman owed him $300 and that he would keep calling until she paid him. He was advised to take her to court. The boyfriend yelled at the deputy and said that he would keep calling. After the conversation was ended, he called another 30 times. A warrant was issued for his arrest for telephone harassment.

Monday 1/25

8:40 a.m. To Troy Rd. for a report of phone harassment. A man reported that he received a call around 5:30 yesterday evening from a person asking about a dog kennel that he had for sale. He said he advised the caller that he did not have anything for sale. He said that about 8:30 p.m. he received another call from the same number, and the caller threatened him with bodily harm. He asked that the incident be documented in case someone came to his home. The deputy tried calling the number back but no one answered.

Tuesday 1/26

9:57 p.m. A woman called to report that her husband drove his vehicle to his parents’ home on Lakeshore Dr. and left it there while he went to work with a friend. He said that when he returned, he noticed that his license plates were missing. She called back the next day to report that the plates were found in his parents’ mailbox. She does not know who took them.

Wednesday 1/27

10:30 a.m. To Glenapple Dr. A woman reported that she and her husband purchased the residence about 8 months ago. She said that the previous owner would stop by periodically to check for mail. She said that this morning he came by and checked their mailbox. She said she felt uncomfortable contacting the previous owner and asked if the deputy would do so. The deputy contacted the previous owner and advised him that the new owners were uncomfortable with his stopping by, and he advised that he would not do it again.

12:41 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A store employee reported that a man and woman were acting suspiciously and went to check the surveillance video. It showed the couple concealing items. She said she asked the cashier if they had paid for the items, and learned that they had not. She said they left in a maroon pickup truck. She said she contacted another store in the area and learned that the couple had stolen from that store, too. The plate came back to Richard Newport, 46, of Dayton-Brandt Rd., who the deputy recognized on the surveillance video. On January 30, the deputy spoke with Newport and Melinda Gayheart, 29, of Orth Dr., and both admitted to stealing from the stores. Both were arrested for theft. Newport was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and taken to the Clark County Jail.

1:01 p.m. To Dogwood Rd. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that she has a protection order through Miami County on a Troy man. She said that she has been receiving calls from an unknown number and believes that he is calling. She was advised that the Sheriff’s office could not do anything without proof. She then said that he called on January 20, but did not report it because she did not know if he had been served with the order. The deputy consulted with the Prosecutor’s office, and they would not support charges because she waited too long to report it. They also said that just because the call came from his phone did not mean that he was calling.

5:44 p.m. To W. Main St., Medway, for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that a former boyfriend keeps calling her multiple times after she has asked him to stop. She said that they dated for about two weeks, but the relationship ended on January 25. She said that he has tried to contact her non-stop since then. She said that she fears for her well-being since he has threatened to contact her husband. The boyfriend was contacted and was advised to cease contact with her or he could be charged. He was advised that he could contact her husband.

8:28 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her boyfriend and father of her child assaulted her in her apartment. She said that he was upset because he did not want to attend her grandmother’s funeral. She said that she has a protection order against him, and that he has been arrested recently on another domestic complaint in which she was the victim. She said that he choked her, slapped her and threatened to kill her if she called the police on him again. She said that her infant child cries non-stop when she is not around, and believes that it is because of the abuse that he witnessed. Warrants were issued for Deontre Bailey for one count of Domestic Violence and one count of Assault.

9:00 p.m. To Glenapple Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman who has a history of domestic calls, reported that she has been off of drugs for some time. She said that her boyfriend made her feel uncomfortable by getting in her face and yelling. She said that she wants to be rid of her boyfriend because he controls her with drugs. The boyfriend seemed to be slightly intoxicated and was returned to his residence and asked to stay home for the night.

Thursday 1/28

12:42 a.m. To Daleridge Rd. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that he was pulling up to his home and saw a male dressed in dark clothing at the end of this driveway carrying something. As he entered his home, he noticed glass throughout the living room. He said he then jumped into his vehicle to try to locate the male but was unsuccessful. He said that two guitars, a shotgun and numerous other items were taken. Evidence was gathered and photos were taken.

1:50 a.m. To Daleridge Rd. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that someone broke out a bedroom window and gained entry to his home. He said he had a camera set up in the living room to see if his girlfriend was taking items from the house. The video showed a neighbor walking toward the living room looking through a wallet. The deputy’s Sergeant was contacted to see if the detectives wanted to get involved. The Sergeant advised to contact the neighbor to get consent to search his home. Contact was made and permission was denied. A search warrant was obtained, the neighbor’s home was searched and two guitars and a shotgun were found that might have come from another burglary on Daleridge. The man’s items were not found. The neighbor was transported to the Clark County Jail to be questioned prior to being booked in the jail.

8:20 a.m. To Carpenter Dr. for a report of identity fraud. A woman reported that she received a letter from Paypal regarding an account that she did not apply for. She was advised to obtain a copy of her credit report to verify that no unauthorized credit had been obtained in her name.

5:01 p.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A husband and wife explained that they are tired of their son’s disobedience, disrespect and lack of motivation. They said that they have tried to help their son with job placement and education, but it gets turned away. The son admitted that he missed sign-up for class and has to wait for the next class. He was advised that since he does not pay rent to his parents, he can be kicked out without eviction. The son became irate and started walking to a friend’s home. Before he left, he was advised to call for a peace officer to collect his belongings, but he said “No, I won’t be calling you guys.” The parents were advised to call if he returns.

7:04 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in an argument with her live-in boyfriend over a vaping party and how he lied about not being able to go to that party because of other obligations. The boyfriend confirmed her story, and both stated that the argument was only verbal. They also agreed that it would be a good idea if they stayed separated for the night.

Friday 1/29

1:20 p.m. To McDonald’s on S. Dayton-Lakeview for a report of a found item. A man reported finding a syringe behind the trash can. The syringe was collected and submitted for destruction.

2:00 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took a .22 snub nose revolver from her nightstand. She said that she has two roommates and that they all have people in and out of the apartment. She has no idea who took it.

3:26 p.m. To Winchester St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Deputies arrived to find a man on the porch with a phone in his hand. He said that there was something inside the phone and he was trying to take it apart. They then went inside, and his wife said that he was holding a yardstick and that she was unaware of his intentions with it. She said she took it away from him and put it in a closet, which upset the husband. She said he shoved her to the ground causing her head to hit a dresser. She did not have any visible signs of injury. She said that he suffers from dementia and had recently been released from the hospital. She said she can no longer care for him because of his mood swings. She said she called his doctor and asked that he be taken back to the hospital so they could help place him in a residential facility. Bethel EMS transported the husband to Miami Valley Hospital.

4:15 p.m. To Gerlaugh Rd. for a custody dispute. A woman reported that she contacted the father of her child to find out when she could pick up the child, but he hung up on her. She has not been able to reach him since.

6:33 p.m. Copey’s Meat Market for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman asked deputies to meet her at Copey’s, and stated that she was arguing with the father of her children while attempting to drop off clothes to him that he left at her residence. She said that she told him that she was leaving, and that he wrapped his arms around her and tried to stop her from leaving. She said he let her go and she left. The man was contacted at his home on Lincoln Rd. and said that they were arguing, but that there were no threats and no violence.

7:15 p.m. To Cliffside Dr. to assist Bethel Twp. EMS in making entry to a home. EMS personnel said that they were called by a neighbor who believed that the resident had fallen due to his diabetes. Medics found the resident whose blood sugar tested dangerously high. He was transported to Soin Medical Center.

9:38 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she had brought her granddaughter to speak her mother. She said she called her daughter several times and got no response so she went there to ask her mother if she could babysit. She said her daughter’s boyfriend came downstairs, put his finger in her face and said “don’t bring her over here again.” She said she told him not to speak to her that way, and he yelled back not to bring her granddaughter over any more. The boyfriend was contacted and said that she brings the granddaughter to his apartment frequently and knocks on the door incessantly. He said that he has asked her several times not to bring the girl over because her mother does not live there. The woman was advised not to return to the apartment to avoid any future conflict.

Saturday 1/30

1:07 a.m. To Phillip Dr. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that she and her brother had been drinking and started yelling at each other. She said her brother left when things started getting out of hand. She said that the argument did not become physical.

4:58 p.m. To Bayberry Dr. for a report of identity fraud. A woman reported she received 9 letters from the same bank containing 7 debit cards and 3 credit cards using her name. She said she contacted the bank and that over $140,000 was charged to the cards. She said that she has been the victim of identity theft three times before.

Bethel Township

Friday 1/29

11:34 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and S. State Route 202. A traffic stop was initiated for broken tail lights. Running the license plate through LEADS it was discovered the registered owner, Monique Brewer, had a suspended license and warrant. Brewer was confirmed as the driver and the warrant was confirmed. The Miami County Jail requested that a summons be issued to Brewer. She also received a citation for driving under suspension and tail light violation.

Sunday 1/31

1:18 p.m. Littering complaint in the 6600 block of Elizabeth Bethel Road. A large amount of garbage consisting of carpet, laminate flowing, carpet pad and buckets of flooring adhesive were found.

Monday 2/1

12:45 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 9300 block of S. Mann Road. A female was at the residence to pick up a child. The father of the child confronted the female about civil issues and an argument ensued. The incident ended with both involved parties leaving and going their separate ways.

Tuesday 2/2

10:36 a.m. Accident with no injury in the 4900 block of US Route 40. A driver attempted to pass a vehicle that was turning left and striking the vehicle on the driver’s side. After further investigation the driver at fault was arrested for OVI and Open Container.

1:25 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 7700 block of Windham Drive. David Jennings was arrested for Domestic Violence.

Wednesday. Feb 3

6:04 p.m. Drug offense in the 3700 block of Rudy Road. Mother found drug paraphernalia on her property and thought it belonged to her 16-year-old son. After further investigation, the juvenile was issued a misdemeanor citation and the drug paraphernalia was removed from the home and booked into evidence.
