Sunday 1/17

1:50 a.m. To W. National Rd. and Palmer Rd. to meet a Miami County Deputy. While enroute, the deputy was advised to “step up” his response. The Miami County Deputy had been involved in a pursuit and the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree. The driver had what was believed to be methamphetamines in his pants leg. At 3:10, the deputy was advised to contact a Sergeant with the Miami County Sheriff’s office. He was advised that the vehicle was possibly stolen from Carmella’s Pizzeria. The deputy contacted the owner who said that he was notified by Miami County that his vehicle was involved in a crash. She said he had been driving around with a female that he picked up somewhere on Smithville Rd. in Dayton. He said he went into Carmella’s around 8:44 p.m. to get something for them to eat and left the engine running so she would stay warm. He said he came outside and found the truck missing. He said he called the woman and she said she would be back in 10 minutes. He said he waited for over a half hour, but she did not return. He said he paid a Carmella’s driver $20 to drive him around Park Layne to look for his vehicle, but it was not found. He said he did not want to report it stolen because he didn’t want to get the woman in trouble. He said he reported it stolen when he heard from Miami County because the driver was not the female he had with him. The driver involved in the accident was charged with receiving stolen property.
8:22 a.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a heroin overdose. The deputy arrived with Bethel Twp. Medics to find the male subject lying face up on a mattress. He had shallow breathing and was unresponsive. Near him were two broken clear pill capsules and some spoons. He was given Narcan and he became responsive. The subject was uncooperative and said he was “just sleeping.” The subject’s father said that he picked up the subject on Third St. in Dayton around 10:00 last night, brought him home and went to sleep. He said that this morning the subject must have gotten into his “stuff” and they found him passed out. The father said he has an active protection order against his son. The subject was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center and charged with violation of a protection order. The evidence was collected for testing.
8:41 a.m. To the 300 block of N. Main St. for a report of an accident. A driver traveling south on Main St. ran off the right side of the road while putting something in her purse. She struck a light pole causing damage to the pole and her vehicle. She was charged with failure to control
3:26 p.m. A Dialton Rd. resident called to report that he lost his wallet at the Family Dollar on S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. He said that the store is the only place he had his wallet out of his pocket. He was unable to find his wallet in his house or in his car. He said it contained $200 in cash, credit cards and personal information. He said that he has cancelled the credit cards. A Family Dollar employee the employee working before him mentioned a wallet, but none had been turned in.
6:17 p.m. To Caldwell Dr. for a child custody dispute. A woman reported that her child’s grandparents came to her home while she was gone and picked up her son. She said that she didn’t know that they were coming. The grandparents said that their son advised them to pick the child up. They said they have an agreement to pick up the child on this day. The woman showed her custody papers giving her custody today and tomorrow. The grandparents returned the child to his mother.
7:10 p.m. While patrolling on Fenwick Dr., the deputy saw three individuals standing around two dogs that were fighting. The owners of the dogs were trying to separate them without much success. Another witness was able to pull the dogs apart, but in doing so suffered a bite to his hand. A man stated that he was walking his pit bull at the same time another resident was letting her dog out of the car to go into the house. He said the other dog ran toward his dog and began fighting, but he was unable to separate them. The owner of the other dog stated a similar story, but that her dog never left the yard and the pit bull was in her yard. The deputy noted that she saw the dogs fighting in the roadway. The owner of the pit bull was advised to keep it quarantined for 10 days and the Humane Society was notified. The witness who was bitten was transported to SOIN Medical Center for his injuries.

Monday 1/18

2:48 a.m. To Lakeshore Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her son had been staying with her off and on for about a month. She said she woke up this morning to find her vehicle and its keys missing. She said that her son frequents a local bar, a strip club and a known drug house in the Medway area. All three were checked, but the vehicle was not at any of the locations. She said that he probably went to Dayton to see one of his drug suppliers. She said that he had recently stolen about 100 Morphine tablets prescribed to her. She said that she does not want to press charges.
7:32 p.m. To S. Church St. for a report of a stolen vehicle. A woman reported that yesterday she contacted Dayton Police to report her vehicle was stolen. She said that today she received an anonymous text message informing her that her vehicle was on S. Church St. She found the vehicle there, but the battery was dead. Dayton Police was contacted and they stated that no report had been done. The woman asked why that had not been done, and she was referred to Dayton PD since that is where the vehicle was stolen.

Tuesday 1/19

3:06 a.m. To W. Jefferson St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was arguing with her boyfriend about his drinking with friends in the home. She said he left with the friends. The vehicle was located on Madison St. One of the occupants was found to have an active warrant through Montgomery County. He was transported to the Clark County Jail. The boyfriend was not in the vehicle. The woman did not have any marks or bruises, and said that she did not wish to press charges.
10:06 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of found items. A man reported finding a black Ohio State wallet with a Social Security card, two Visa cards and an Ohio ID card. The items were placed in a locker at the New Carlisle substation.
3:30 p.m. To Rawson Dr. A man reported that three weeks ago, his daughter was arrested in Fairborn while driving his vehicle. He said a short time later a man returned his vehicle to him. He said that after she was released from jail, his daughter told him that her license was in good standing and she borrowed the vehicle again. He said he learned that her license is suspended, and he called her to have her return it. He was advised that she was arrested Sunday in Huber Heights. He does not know where his vehicle is or who may be driving it. The deputy contacted Huber PD, and they advised that they did not tow the vehicle. He was advised that the vehicle would be entered as stolen.
5:18 p.m. To Revere Dr. for a report of a dispute. An apparently intoxicated woman showed the deputy a bag of Xanax. She said it was prescribed to her husband, and she thinks her son is “feeding” her husband too many Xanax. The husband said that he was OK, and the son said that he is giving his father his medicine because his mother keeps taking it. They were advised that the father needed to take care of his own medicine. Deputies were called to the residence again at 6:40 p.m. for a report of the mother being assaulted. She said that she did not call and she was not assaulted. She had called a health clinic and told them that her husband was taking too much medicine, and it was interpreted as being suicidal. The husband said he is not suicidal and did not know that the health clinic was called. The woman was again advised to stop drinking for the evening and only call if she needed help. Deputies were again called at 8:57 p.m. regarding the woman bothering her husband about a phone. The husband said that he was trying to go to bed, but the wife kept trying to get the phone from him to call 911 for nothing. The woman said she was concerned that her husband was taking too many pills.
5:18 p.m. To Kennedy Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took the front plate from her vehicle. She was unable to provide a time for the theft. There are no suspects.
5:18 p.m. To Coachhill Ln. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone cut thetires on her vehicle. She said it was fine at 5:00 yesterday. She noticed the damage at about 11:00 this morning. She said she had taken the vehicle to a gas station to put air in the tires, but they soon went flat. There are no suspects.

Wednesday 1/20

5:13 a.m. To Weinland St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he started his vehicle to warm up before going to work. He said he went inside, then heard the engine rev up and watched it pull out of the driveway. There are no suspects.
2:39 p.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that on Monday he picked up his Oxycodone prescription and ran more errands. He said that today he looked for the prescription and it was gone. He said that the vehicle was unlocked. There are no suspects.

Thursday 1/21

4:10 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. A woman had called to state that a woman had taken money from her, then hung up. There was another 911 call earlier from the same area and no one was on the line. Deputies could hear people in the apartment arguing over money, but they would not answer the door. The deputy heard the male half tell the female half to keep her hands off him, and the female half yelled “where is my money” several times. The deputy then heard items crashing in the apartment. The deputy then ordered them to open the door or charges would be filed. The door was opened, and both stated that they were arguing over money. The woman said that money was missing and accused the male half of taking it. The woman then found the money in the couch. Both parties were advised of the misuse of 911 and obstructing official business.
3:53 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that on December 7, someone made 7 ATM withdrawls totaling $1000. They were all done at the PNC Bank on N. Main St. He said that on December 8, someone purchased a game on Google without his permission. He said he never noticed the card missing. He said that he moved back in with his ex-wife last May, and she is the only one who would have access to his card. He said he asked her if she took it, and she said that she did not.
4:27 p.m. To Milton-Carlisle Pike. A woman asked for assistance in finding her daughter who has been missing since Jan 17. She said her daughter stole several items from her home and left the area. She said that her daughter has again started using heroin, and she feels the drug has taken back over her life. She said she has made several attempts to contact her daughter, but has only received one response. She said her daughter told her that she was in Cincinnati with friends and that she was sick of her addiction and wanted help. She said she has already filed a report for the stolen items, and believes her daughter is afraid to come home. She was advised that her daughter would be entered into the system as missing.
6:25 p.m. To W. Lincoln St. for a report of an overdose. The victim met New Carlisle Medics at the door and said that he did not need medical treatment and had not consumed any illegal substances. Medics convinced him to allow them to check him out. He said that he was a severe diabetic and that is why he was sluggish. Medics found that his blood sugar and blood pressure were elevated. The man then said that he had snorted “one cap of heroin” earlier in the day. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for further evaluation.
6:55 p.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of a neighbor dispute. A man reported that a neighbor two houses down stares at him and appears to be taunting him when both are outside. He was advised that there is nothing criminal in what the neighbor is doing. He said his attorney advised him to take a video of the neighbor, which he did. The deputy advised him to take advice from his attorney.
8:05 p.m. To McKees Mill Run for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that she has received several unwanted phone calls and text messages harassing her because her boyfriend is from Ireland. She said that there have been no threats and that the calls are a nuisance. The deputy left a voice mail message for the father advising him of the consequences he could face if he continues harassing his daughter.
8:29 p.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that her aunt has been harassing her husband with constant calls and text messages. The aunt has been complaining that he is not caring for his mother who has a terminal illness. She said that the aunt is a sex offender, and said that she will have people beat up her husband. The deputy contacted the aunt and advised her to stop calling or face charges. The aunt said that she has the same charges pending on the couple and that the deputy needs to check on the welfare of her sister. The deputy checked on the woman and found her to be sleeping unharmed.
8:39 p.m. To Daleridge Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he noticed a dolly missing from his back yard. There are no suspects.

Friday 1/22

12:28 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that someone broke into his apartment. A short time later, a subject matching the description of the burglar was seen running north on McAdams Dr., but was soon lost. The subject had thrown a rock through a window to enter the apartment and took a handgun. The apartment manager reported that earlier in the day the subject had asked her where the victim lived. The subject was soon located and he and his girlfriend appeared to be on drugs. They were asked about the incident but could not stay focused. Both were trespassed from the property.
4:37 p.m. Traffic stop on Lake Rd. at Schiller Rd. The deputy saw a small jar of what appeared to be marijuana on the floor of the vehicle. The driver confirmed that it was marijuana. He was charged with possession of marijuana and traffic offences. The jar and a glass pipe were submitted to property.
7:00 p.m. To the 5300 block of Dialton Rd. A driver northbound on Dialton Rd. struck a dog as it ran across the road.

Saturday 1/23

2:36 a.m. To N. Church St. for a report of vandalism. The deputy arrived to find a tree in the front yard had been toilet papered. A woman advised the deputy to watch his step because several eggs had been broken on the ground. She showed the deputy that someone had squirted mustard all over the side of her vehicle and her house. There are no suspects.
2:09 p.m. A deputy was stationary on Main St. in Medway when he saw a vehicle that was a suspect in a theft from Ace Hardware in December. He initiated a traffic stop on Spangler Rd. The driver had no license and was under suspension. As he was speaking with the driver, he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. All occupants but one provided identification. The deputy had the occupant without identification step out of the vehicle. When he did, an open can of beer fell out of the vehicle. He was advised that he was being charged with open container. One of the passengers had a small jar with pills and marijuana in his pocket. The deputy also saw a pill bottle in the back seat. The pills appeared to be Hydrocodone. The passenger without identification was found to be Todd Deer, 45, of Fairborn. He had two outstanding warrants from Greene County. He was charged with obstructing justice, obstructing official business, falsification and open container. He was taken to the Clark County Jail. The driver was cited for no driver’s license and driving under suspension. The passenger with the marijuana, Frank Sherman, 52, of Dayton, was charged with possession of marijuana, and additional charges are pending lab results on the pills.
7:55 p.m. Traffic stop on Lake at Gerlaugh for fictitious plates. While speaking to the driver, he was nervous. The deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. He and his passengers were asked to exit the vehicle, and a bag of marijuana was found on the driver’s seat. A search yielded a bag with green and pink crystals behind the driver’s seat. The driver was charged with possession of marijuana and fictitious plates. Additional charges are pending lab results on the crystals.

Friday 1/22

12:48 p.m. Suspicious person reported in the 7700 block of East State Route 571. RP reported suspicious footprints in the snow that didn’t belong to residents.

Sunday 1/24

3:38 p.m. Assault reported at Bethel High School, 7490 South State Route 201. Deputy spoke with individuals in reference to a scuffle that occurred after a basketball game. After speaking with all individuals, it was determined that no charges would be filed. All parties were advised a report would be filed to document the incident

Tuesday 1/26

1:30 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of Palmer and Singer Road. Vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation. The driver, Christopher Sanchez, advised he did not have a license. After checking Sanchez through LEADS it was confirmed that his driving status was failure to reinstate. Sanchez was issued a citation for headlight violation and failure to reinstate operator’s license. He was released to a valid driver.
