Monday 12/21

12:01 p.m. To Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her boyfriend was breaking items in the apartment. He had left the scene before deputies arrived, but he was located nearby. When he saw the deputy, he fled toward Weinland, then toward Osborn Rd. He was finally taken into custody. He had an outstanding warrant for driving under suspension. Other deputies went to the RP’s apartment and saw broken items scattered all over the floor. She said she woke her boyfriend up so her 6-year-old daughter could open presents and he became upset. She said he grabbed her by the throat and slapped her 2-3 times in the face. She said she went into the bathroom to call 911 and he punched through the door. She refused to press charges against the boyfriend. The boyfriend was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained from punching through the door. After he was released, he was transported to the Clark County Jail and charged with domestic violence, assault, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.

12:03 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver southbound on Dayton-Lakeview was stopped for a traffic light. He was pulling a trailer. He was struck from behind by another driver, and the impact caused the trailer to become unhitched and was pushed into his vehicle. The second driver fled the scene.

10:30 p.m. To the 200 block of Prentice Dr. for a report of an accident. A driver was backing out of a driveway and struck a vehicle parked on the street. She was charged with improper backing.

Tuesday 12/22

8:07 a.m. To Spangler Rd. A third party male called 911 to report that he was flagged down by an unknown male who requested a squad because he was having a panic attack. The man was from California and did not know where he was going. The deputy was able to get the man’s parents’ phone number, called the parents and learned that the man was heading home from California for Christmas. The man’s father said they live about an hour north of New York City. He said that his son takes medication for anxiety. The father was advised that the son was being transported to Miami Valley Hospital for evaluation, and he was OK with that and thanked the deputy.

Wednesday 12/23

12:56 p.m. To Dayton-Lakeview Rd. at Musselman Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver northbound on Dayton-Lakeview, who was pulling a trailer, braked to turn into a driveway when the trailer jackknifed, causing his vehicle to slide off the roadway. As it slid, it hit a traffic sign before coming to rest. He was cited for failure to control.

Thursday 12/24

1:45 p.m. To W. National Rd. at Rt. 235 for a report of ammunition in the roadway. A deputy located 45 damaged RWS 9mm Luger gold bullets in the roadway. The ammunition will be turned in to property.

Friday 12/25

1:30 p.m. To N. Main St. A woman at the Speedway station had run into the ice machine causing damage to her vehicle and the machine. The driver said that she thought her vehicle was in reverse, and when she went to back out of a parking space, she struck the ice machine. She was advised that she would not be cited, but would be responsible for the damages.

7:44 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a highly intoxicated person. A woman reported that a male subject had been drinking and may have taken some of her Seroquel. She said that when she returned home, she found him on the couch. She said he had removed his clothes as if he were going to go to the bathroom, but instead defecated on her couch. Deputies tried several times to communicate with the man but were unsuccessful. Bethel Twp. Medics arrived on scene and transported him to Springfield Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

8:56 p.m. To the 800 block of W. Jefferson St. for a private property accident. A woman reported that she pulled into a parking lot and hit a structure. The property owner arrived on the scene and both exchanged information.

Saturday 12/26

1:43 p.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a report of a found item. A man reported finding a license plate in the field near his home. The owner was located and the plate returned.

1:45 p.m. To Campbell Ave. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone broke out the window of his work vehicle. He is not sure when it happened, but said that nothing was missing from it. He said his employer requested a report.

Monday 12/28

11:52 a.m. To Troy Rd. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that he received letters from Bank of America informing him that someone had opened accounts in his name in West Virginia. He said he was also informed that someone opened a Walmart credit card in his name. Bank of America said that the account was opened on December 17 and closed the same day. He said that they thought it strange that someone in Ohio would open an account online in West Virginia. Checking his other credit cards, he found that someone had charged over $1000 at a sporting goods store out west.

2:18 p.m. To S. Church St. for a neighbor dispute. A woman reported that her neighbor came over asking who owned a vehicle parked in front of his residence. She informed him that it belonged to her mother. She said he started calling her names and complained about her parking in front of his residence. She said that she asked him to leave and he pushed her, so she pushed him back. The neighbor said that he did complain to her about parking, but said that she had pushed him. He was advised that it is a public street and that she can park there if she wants to.

Tuesday 12/29

4:40 p.m. To S. Church St. for a report of menacing. A man stated that he sold a car motor to a man and that the man took the motor with him. He said that today he began receiving very aggressive and threatening text messages from the buyer stating that the motor did not work, and that he was going to get his $250 back one way or another. The deputy saw the texts which said things like “Pay me my money or I will pay someone $1000 to get my point across” and “Don’t get yourself hurt you have 24 hours.” He was advised not to open his door if the buyer shows up. The buyer was contacted and advised that he cannot threaten people and that he needs to contact his attorney. He agreed to do so.

Wednesday 12/30

5:30 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. A woman reported that she serves as a home health care nurse for a double amputee and a recovering addict. She said that today she saw his roommate drawing something up in a syringe, and when he saw her he quickly hid it.

Thursday 12/31

12:16 a.m. To Snider Rd. for a report of an ongoing problem with a barking dog. A man reported that almost every night at around 10 or 10:30 p.m., the neighbors let their dogs out and leave them out until past midnight. He said that his bedroom window faces the neighbor’s home, and the barking is very annoying. He was advised to send them a letter respectfully informing them of the problem. Deputies had been called to this address numerous times, and have never heard any dogs barking. While speaking with the RP, the deputy heard no dogs barking.

3:26 a.m. To Prentice Dr. for a report of a possible assault. A woman reported that she and some friends were at a bar in Beavercreek. She said that as they were ready to leave, a female friend began to fight with another friend. She said that as they left the parking lot, the friend began arguing with her, which eventually led to the assault. The friend said that it was a mutual assault and that both were intoxicated at the time. She was advised that since it happened in Beavercreek, their police would have to handle the assault report. Both parties agreed that there would be no more problems that evening.

11:00 a.m. To the New Carlisle Post Office for a report of a syringe in the lot. The syringe was located and submitted to property.

Friday 1/1

1:03 a.m. To Firwood Dr. for a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies arrived to find two women still arguing. A woman stated that she and the RP had been drinking and began to argue about the RP’s children fighting and wrestling around the residence. She said that the argument was only verbal. Both were advised to get along for the remainder of the night. The RP began arguing with deputies because they would not take her to her home in Dayton. Deputies tried to get a taxi service to respond, but were unsuccessful due to the holiday. Dayton Police were contacted, and they agreed to meet the deputy at Rt. 235 and I-70 to pick up the woman and take her home. When the deputy arrived at the transfer location, Dayton Police reported that they were no longer available to meet. The woman then began yelling at deputies calling them worthless. She was taken back to the Firwood Dr. address. Dispatch was asked to contact a taxi service to pick up the woman. Both were again advised to remain separated to prevent any further incidents.

3:30 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend came to her apartment and assaulted her. She said that he has done this several times in the past. She said that she told him to leave, and he pushed her down onto her bed. She said that he left when she told him that she was calling 911. She did not wish to press charges but asked for information on obtaining a protection order. She was given the information and advised not to let him into the apartment in the future.

1:20 p.m. To the corner of Applewood and Bittersweet for a report of a woman in the street. A man reported that he was driving a vehicle when his mother-in-law jumped out of the passenger door. He said that they were talking and she decided that she wanted to walk home and opened the door and jumped out. The woman was transported by Pike Twp. Medics to Grandview Medical Center with a possible broken leg.

Saturday 1/2

11:14 a.m. To Winchester ST. for a report of an accident. She said that on December 31 at about 4:20 p.m. she was backing out of her driveway and struck a vehicle on the street. She said that both parties agreed to take care of the crash themselves. She said that the other driver advised that he could repair both vehicles if she bought the parts. She said that she wanted something documented because he will not return her phone calls.

3:32 p.m. To the New Carlisle Fire Station for a report of a found item. The Chief stated that some juveniles found a wallet at Church and Jefferson and turned it in to the Fire Department. Dispatch was unable to find a phone number for the owner. The wallet was placed into evidence.

5:11 p.m. To Speedway on N. Main St. A woman reported that she was letting her grandson pump gas and he got gasoline in his eyes. He was transported to Children’s Medical Center.

Bethel Township

Thursday 12/31

1:18 p.m. Criminal damage reported in the 7600 block of Newbury Road. RP stated on 11/28/15 his back patio door was shattered. The RP thought a rock had broken the door while a farmer was plowing. But on 12/31/15 the RP noticed a small hole in the front window. After further investigation the RP found a BB inside the window sill. RP then went back to recheck the patio door and noticed three holes that would be consistent with the size of a BB. The RP thought he knew who might have caused the damage but didn’t want to file charges. He wanted the incident document and the neighbor advised of the incident.

1:20 p.m., Fraud involving a debit card reported in the 5800 block of South State Route 201. An unknown person had used the RP’s debit card in the Indianapolis, IN area. The card physically had not left her possession. The bank had cancelled that card number and advised the RP she had to dispute the charges to get her money back. RP was provided a case number for her bank’s record. RP was also advised to contact the local Indiana police, give them details on where the card was used and they might be able to identify the subject who used it.

Friday 1/1

1:57 a.m. Disturbance at the A and R Reck MHP. After further investigation Gary Sorrells was charged with Burglary, and criminal damage.

Saturday 1/2

8:33 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and South State Route 202. Deputy observed a vehicle traveling west bound on U.S. Route 40 with only one working headlight. A stop was initiated on the vehicle which resulted in a traffic citation being issued to the driver for the headlight. He also received two minor misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.

Saturday 1/2

9:40 p.m. Criminal damage reported in the area of Ross and Sullivan Road. A deputy was advised a car of four juveniles had been stop and detained in Butler Township for smashing mailboxes. It is unknown if the juveniles damaged any mailboxes within Miami County but Huber Heights Dispatch was asked to relay the information in case citizens report damages to their mail boxes.

10:52 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 8100 block of South State Route 202. Female reported that she had an argument with her husband in Butler Township. She got scared and called dispatch but now said she was fine. She assured the deputy there had been no violence or threats made that evening.

Sunday 1/3

12:38 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of South State Route 201 and Ross Road. Vehicle was stopped for not having a light illuminating the rear license plate. Contact was made with the driver. He was run through LEADS and discovered his driver’s license was suspended. He was issued him a citation for DUS and no plate light.

Thursday 1/7

6:40 p.m. Theft not in progress reported in the 4400 block of Dinsmore Drive. RP reported that sometime between 12/1/15 and 1/5/16 an unknown person had taken a diamond ring from a safe located inside the residence.
