Monday, 12/21

12:03 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver southbound on Dayton-Lakeview was stopped for a traffic light. He was pulling a trailer. He was struck from behind by another driver, and the impact caused the trailer to become unhitched and was pushed into his vehicle. The second driver fled the scene.

10:30 p.m. To the 200 block of Prentice Dr. for a report of an accident. A driver was backing out of a driveway when she struck a vehicle parked on the street. She was charged with improper backing.

Tuesday, 12/22

8:07 a.m. To Spangler Rd. A third party male called 911 to report that he was flagged down by an unknown male who requested a squad because he was having a panic attack. The man was from California and did not know where he was going. The deputy was able to get the man’s parents’ phone number, called the parents and learned that the man was heading home from California for Christmas. The man’s father said they live about an hour north of New York City. He said that his son takes medication for anxiety. The father was advised that the son was being transported to Miami Valley Hospital for evaluation, and he was OK with that and thanked the deputy.

Wednesday, 12/23

12:56 p.m. To Dayton-Lakeview Rd. at Musselman Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver northbound on Dayton-Lakeview, who was pulling a trailer, braked to turn into a driveway when the trailer jackknifed, causing his vehicle to slide off the roadway. As it slid, it hit a traffic sign before coming to rest. He was cited for failure to control.

Bethel Township

Thursday, 12/24

8:00 p.m. Telecommunications harassment reported in the 100 block of South State Route 202. RP stated a female had come to her residence and harassed her. RP also advised this female had been texting and calling her incessantly. The cell phone call log showed this person had called seven times and sent text messages varying in content. According to the RP this female had been warned by another police department on 12/20 for telecommunications harassment. Deputies responded to the female’s residence and was able to speak with her. She was warned for telecommunications harassment and criminal trespassing. Approximately an hour later RP called dispatch and advised the female had sent another text message. Deputy responded back to the female’s residence and cited Melissa Jefferies (Troy) with telecommunication harassment.

Monday, 12/28

5:30 p.m. Warrant arrest in the 7900 block of South State Route 202. Dispatch advised that Champaign County called and stated a Benjamin Fisher was at the address and had an active warrant through their county. Upon the deputy’s arrival contact was made with Fisher and he was advised of the warrant. Once the warrant was confirmed, Fisher was handcuffed, transported to Christiansburg where he was turned over a Champaign County Deputy.

Tuesday, 12/29

7:06 a.m. Menacing complaint in the 8800 block of New Carlisle Road. A female went to this residence to speak with a male about a domestic violence situation that his son was involved in. The female made contact with the male at the front door and he then disappeared. Soon after the garage door opened and the male’s son was standing there with a shot gun. A few words were exchanged and the female called 911. Dispatch advised her to get back into her vehicle and back to the end of the driveway, which she did. Deputies arrived on scene and the father advised his son had left out the back of his home going into the woods. K9 Bear was able to pick up on a track of the male that lead them into the woods. Getting close to homes, the deputy saw movement on the ground. A male was found and complied with the commands to show his hands and walk towards the deputy. The male was secured in handcuffs and escorted to a patrol car. Statements were obtained and Matthew Strome was transferred to Clark County Sheriff’s Office custody at the county line inside New Carlisle on domestic violence charges.

6:47 p.m. Assisted TCPD and Fire Department in the rescue of a female and juvenile from high water on Tipp Elizabeth Road. The driver decided to ignore the road closed sign and was cited by TCPD.

Wednesday, 12/30

10:45 p.m. Assist motorist in the area of Ross and Sullivan Road Deputy was dispatched on the report of a vehicle in a field. The driver was issued a citation for underage consumption and possession of marijuana less than 100 grams. The passenger was issued a citation for underage consumption It appears the vehicle traveled off the west side of Sullivan Road into a field and got stuck in the mud.
