12:22 a.m. – To Chalet Dr.  A woman reported receiving a text message from a male subject, against whom she has a protection order.  The order had not been served on the subject and she wanted to know what to do.  The deputy contacted the subject by phone and informed him of the protection order.  He said he would stop at the office on Monday and pick it up.  He also said that the woman owes him money and that he was only trying to seek payment.  He was advised to take her to court and not have any more contact with her.

Monday, January 5

3:47 p.m. – To Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of an intoxicated male.  The subject was located in front of the Quality Food Mart and was drinking what appeared to be beer.  The subject advised that he had left the Gerlaugh Rd. address and provided his name and an inmate release ID.  He said he was on his way to his brother’s home on Edgewick Rd. for the night.  The deputy determined that the subject was too intoxicated to walk to his destination, so he was transported there.  A woman at the Edgewick residence stated that she was the subject’s mother and that he was not welcome there.  She said he is a severe alcoholic and has stolen from family members to buy alcohol.  She said that he was kicked out of rehab and was homeless.  The subject then stated that he would sleep in the park and start a fire to stay warm.  The subject was then placed under arrest for open container and Disorderly/Public Intoxication and taken to the Clark County Jail.

7:18 p.m. – To Bowser Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance.  A man reported that he and his father were involved in an argument at another Bowser Dr. address over a car and some student loan payments.  He said that his father was upset because he drove a vehicle to work with a donut tire on it.  He said his father struck him in the face and he left and went to his aunt’s home.  He did not wish to press charges. The man’s mother stated that the two argued but did not see her husband hit the man.  The fater said that there was an argument, but he was so furious that he was not sure of what he said to his son.  The man stated that he would be staying with his aunt.

7:50 p.m. – To Bowser Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance.  A man reported that he and his girlfriend were involved in an argument over an old boyfriend’s number that he found on her phone.  He said that he confronted her about it, she called him names and he called 911 because the argument was escalating.  The girlfriend said that the man is a control freak and uses meth and marijuana and tends to “freak out” sometimes.  She said that he has called deputies on her before and made false claims against her.  Both agreed that they would stay in separate parts of the home for the night.

Tuesday, January 6

9:08 a.m. – To New Carlisle Pike near Lost Rd. for a report of an accident.  A westbound driver slid off of the roadway striking a street sign and came to rest on a steep embankment.  

4:14 p.m. – To Lakeshore Dr. for a report of identity fraud.  A woman reported that she received a letter from PayPal thanking her for opening an account.  She said that she did not do so. She said that she had contacted PayPal and they said that over $700 was charged on her account.  They requested a police report.

5:51 p.m. – To W. National Rd. for a welfare check on two juveniles possibly with bed bugs.  A man answered the door and identified himself.  Deputies verified that the juveniles were in livable conditions.  It was then discovered that the man who answered the door gave another person’s identification.  He was taken into custody for outstanding warrants from Madison County, and was also charged with falsification and obstructing official business.

5:55 p.m. – To N. Main St. and Galewood for a report of an accident.  A northhbound vehicle was stopped waiting to turn left onto Galewood when it was struck from behind by another vehicle.

7:47 p.m. – To Advance Auto Parts for a report of a man in his vehicle having health issues.  The man appeared to be disoriented and confused and did not know the correct date.  New Carlisle EMS was called, and the man said that he had not eaten in a couple of days but has been taking his medication.  He had difficulty answering Medics’ questions and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.  A store employee said that the man was in the store and appeared disoriented.  He said the man had difficulty backing out of his parking space, so he stopped the man and called 911 for the man’s safety.

Wednesday, January 7

4:02 p.m. – To W. Jefferson St. at Ohio St. for a report of an accident.  A driver westbound on Jefferson slid off of the roadway and struck a utility pole.  The driver was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center and the vehicle was towed.  

5:08 p.m. – To N. Henry St. for a report of found items.  A man reported finding a bag of shotgun shells by a tree in his front yard.  He requested that the deputy take the shells.  She did so and took them to the East District Office to be destroyed.

Thursday, January 8

5:10 p.m. – To Stratmore St.  A 15-year-old girl said that she has been having issues with another girl at school and has been receiving threatening messages on Facebook.  She said that she has not reported the incidents to school officials.  The girl’s parents said that this has been an ongoing issue since October.  They said that they have seen some of the messages and intend on contacting school officials tomorrow.  The girl was advised to block the other girl on Facebook and her phone, and to stop antagonizing the other girl by arguing with her.  Attempts to reach the other girl were unsuccessful.

Friday, January 9

12:30 a.m. – To Rawson Dr. for a report of a theft.  A man reported that Tipp City Police notified him that his truck had been impounded because it was used in the commission of a theft.  He said that he had not used the truck in days.  He asked who used it and was given the names.  He said that he told one of the subjects to come get his stuff out of the truck but did not give him permission to take the truck.  He said he wanted to press charges.  A report was taken and faxed to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

9:49 p.m. – Traffic stop in the 11000 block of New Carlisle Pike.  The deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw a marijuana cigarette in the ash tray.  The evidence was collected and charges are pending lab results.

11:31 p.m. – A deputy found a license plate in the roadway on Zeller Ct.  It belongs to a Zeller Ct. resident, but the deputy was unable to contact the owner.  It was placed into property.

Saturday, January 10

9:14 a.m. – To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a burglary.  A man reported that overnight someone kicked in the foyer door to his apartment building.  He said that his door had not been tampered with.  He said that he contacted the property manager about the damage.

12:08 p.m. – A Bowser Dr. resident called to report that her son took several pieces of jewelry from her husband.  She said that they are having trouble paying for his student loans and that he may have taken the items out of spite.  She said that she does not wish to press charges against him.

4:31 p.m. – To Whaley Rd.  A woman reported that her ex-husband, against whom she has a protection order, was at the residence.  She said that she believes he violated the order by being on the property without giving her notice.  The protection order was valid until January 10, but an investigation showed that the man was informed that the order had expired.  The husband said that he was unaware that the order was still in place and was on the property to file a report on missing items, which he said was ordered by the judge.  The woman was adivsed that she needs more clarification in her protection order regarding the husband being there with law enforcement present.  

10:11 p.m. – To Dogwood Rd.  A man reported that he and his girlfriend are breaking up and that she is refusing to give him his keys.  The girlfriend said that she took his keys because he took her phone.  Each returned each other’s property and the deputy stood by while the man removed his items from her apartment.

10:40 p.m. – To Woodglen Ln. for a report of a domestic disturbance.  A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend was at her residence, was intoxicated and was destroying her property.  She said that he also might have a firearm.  Attempts to contact the boyfriend were unsuccessful.  Additional units were called and entry was made to her home.  The boyfriend was located asleep in a bedroom.  He said that the two were drinking all evening.  He said that they began to fight over his remote control helicopter that was destroyed, and he became upset and started destroying the residence.  He denied any physical altercation.  Deputies found the home in disarray and holes in the wall. The boyfriend had lacerations on his right hand.  He was placed into custody for domestic violence, assault and unlawful restraint.
