Sunday 11/8

10:53 AM To Orth Dr. for a custody dispute. A woman reported that she allowed the father of her son to have him for the night, but the child was not returned at the appointed time. She said that she called the father, and he said that it was her fault because she didn’t have a ride to pick him up. The father was contacted and advised that, since visitation had not been set up by the courts, the mother had custody and that he had to return the child immediately. The father said that he was in Dayton and that his mother would be leaving soon to return the child.

8:06 PM Traffic stop in the 400 block of N. Main St. The driver was advised that she was stopped because she had no brake lights and she did not signal a turn. The driver seemed very nervous and anxious. She denied being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and was slow to answer simple questions. She consented to a search, which yielded a glass pipe with white residue inside. She said she uses it to smoke meth. Also found were 3 white pills which she identified as Tramadol. She said she got them from her father-in-law who has a prescription. She was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and ordered into court.

10:00 PM To Orth Dr. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that her daughter received threatening calls from her ex-boyfriend. She said that the boyfriend was telling her daughter that he is going to send some of his friends to “get her.” The boyfriend was contacted, and he said that he would do whatever necessary to get his property returned to him. He was advised to contact the Sheriff’s Office to arrange for a peace officer, and was advised not to contact the daughter or the RP again.

Monday 11/9

12:17 PM To Lambers Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone obtained his credit card information and made unauthorized charges totaling over $300 at a Meijer store in Loveland, Ohio. He said that he is in possession of the card and that it has been cancelled.

4:21 PM To Lower Valley Pike for a peace officer call. A man reported that he has custody of his 16-year-old sister and he needed to go to his father’s home on Wellington Ave. to pick up her belongings and money. He said that he has a protection order against his father and needed a deputy present to avoid violating the order. The father stated that his daughter had called to pick up her belongings, but, since he has already been charged with violating the protection order, he told her that nothing was there. The father counted out $600 in front of the deputy and gave it to his daughter. The RP and his sister left without incident, and were advised to consult with an attorney to get the rest of her belongings.

Tuesday 11/10

8:38 AM To Ravenwood Dr. for a report of a possible scam. A woman reported receiving a letter from Macy’s Department Store advising her that the check that they sent her had not been cashed. The letter further stated that if she wanted the check reissued, she had to call the number on the letter. She said that she Googled the number and found that it was Macy’s number. She said that she called and it was answered by Macy’s. She googled a second number on the letter, and there were reports that it was a scam operator. She said that she was concerned because she gave her social security number to them. She asked that the incident be documented.

8:13 PM To Glenapple Dr. for a report of an accident. A driver backing out of a driveway struck a vehicle parked on the street. The driver was cited for improper backing.

Wednesday 11/11

5:36 PM To Gerlaugh Rd. for a 911 hangup. Dispatch called back and a woman reported that she was in a verbal domestic with her boyfriend and that she had locked herself in the bedroom and the boyfriend was in the living room with their 14-month-old son. Deputies arrived to find the boyfriend outside smoking a cigar. The RP stated that they were arguing because he would not delete an X-rated picture of her from his cell phone. She said that she told him that she was leaving for the evening and that upset him. She said that he told her that if she made him miss work, he would make her “pay for it.” The boyfriend said that they argued over a picture, and that he had to be at work at 9:30. The RP decided to leave for a while to allow things to cool down and said that she would return home in time for him to go to work. Both agreed that there were no threats and no assault.

11:57 PM To Stratmore St. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone damaged his fence. It had been bent by an unknown object. He asked that the incident be documented.

Friday 11/13

8:13 AM To Galewood Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone broke into her vehicle and two of her father’s vehicles overnight. She said that her purse containing $200 in cash, a GPS, a cell phone and a tablet were taken. Her father reported that $300 in cash, a set of car keys and a bag of new clothes were missing from his vehicles.

4:28 PM To Rawson Dr. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that she went into her bedroom to get away from her daughter, but the daughter shoved the door open, hitting her in the face. She said that her daughter raised her fist and said “I’m going to make this one count.” She said that her son stepped between them and prevented a fight. The daughter said that her mother slammed her bedroom dor and almost slammed her finger in the door, so she pushed it. She said that her brother slapped her in the face and threw her phone, smashing it. No one had any visible marks and the daughter’s phone was not damaged. Both parties continued to argue, became uncooperative and refused to fill out a statement. The daughter left the residence.

7:09 PM To Galewood Dr. A woman reported that someone broke into her vehicle. She said that nothing was taken, but the subject had rummaged through it. She said that there had been several other car break-ins in the neighborhood.

8:14 PM To Fenwick Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone took a bow and 6 arrows from his unlocked vehicle.

8:17 PM A deputy followed a vehicle on Rt. 235 that had swerved several times. He tried to initiate a traffic stop on Church St. at Main St., but the vehicle did not stop. The deputy saw two occupants shifting around and putting something behind the seat. A half block later, the vehicle stopped. The driver had bloodshot eyes and his pupils were constricted. The deputy could smell a moderate odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When the driver exited, he was unsteady and used thedoor to walk. He said that he drank two beers after work. The deputy looked in the vehicle and saw an open beer can partially covered by a coat. He said that he was on Tramadol, but changed his story several times on how many he had taken. He failed several field sobriety tests and was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center for a blood test. He was cited for OVI, open container and lanes of travel.

Saturday 11/14

3:07 AM Traffic stop on 2 vehicles on Hartley at Dayton-Lakeview. One driver, who smelled of marijuana, said that he was visiting with the driver of the other vehicle, and they came to Speedway to get a few things. There were four people in the second vehicle and a strong odor of alcohol was coming from it. The driver had bloodshot eyes and was easily distracted from tasks requested. The first driver was charged with possession of drugs. The second driver was charged with disregard of safety, OVI and open container.

4:32 AM To Chalet Dr. for a report of a theft. A very intoxicated woman reported that someone entered her unlocked van and took several items. She said that her purse containing a cell phone, cash and a debit card, were taken. She identified a possible suspect, but attempts to reach the suspect were unsuccessful. The deputy noted that, due to her level of intoxication, he had trouble getting information from her.

3:52 PM To Rawson Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her mother started videotaping her and they started to argue. She said that her mother smacked her in the face, but she had no marks. The mother said that her daughter was being rough with her son, so she took a video of it. She said that her daughter got in her face and was screaming. Due to conflicting stories and the lack of physical injuries, no charges were made. Both parties refused to leave the residence.

Friday 11/13

10:34 AM Drug offense reported at Bethel High School, 7490 S. State Route 201. After investigating, a student was charged and released to a guardian.

Saturday 11/14

3:45 AM Traffic stop in the area of Palmer and Bellefontaine Roads. Driver was issued a citation for driving under a non-compliance suspension.

9:20 PM Theft not in progress reported in the 5300 South Dayton Brandt Road. RP thought ex-boyfriend had stolen items from her house.

Sunday 11/15

2:46 AM Traffic stop in the area of Staley Road and S. State Route 201. Driver was stopped for a speeding violation and was also issued a citation for drug paraphernalia. .

8:34 PM Theft not in progress at the Sunshine MHP, 6205 US Route 40. .No further information available on the theft.

Tuesday 11/17

7:14 PM Disturbance in the 7400 block of South State Route 202. Male reported his mom and her boyfriend were fighting. Upon deputy’s arrival the boyfriend answered the door and acknowledged they had been in a verbal argument. The male and mother had left the residence prior to the deputy’s arrival but confirmed that no physical harm had occurred.

7:22 PM Assault reported at the Bethel High School, 7490 S. State Route 201. Case is pending identification and interviewing of suspects.

Wednesday 11/17

0:05 AM Disturbance reported at the A and R Reck MHP, 4220 US Route 40. Male was arrested and transported to the Miami County Jail and incarcerated. The victim was transported by Bethel EMS to a local hospital for treatment,
