Sunday 10/18

11:55AM To Charles Rd. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone tried to break into his home and showed four areas where entry was attempted. The front door, back door and two windows showed signs of attempted forced entry. He believes that it happened either Thursday or Friday, but doesn’t think that entry was gained. He requested a report for insurance purposes.

Monday 10/19

5:08PM To Merrymack Dr. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that his home had been broken into and a TV and some jewelry were missing. Forced entry was made from the back deck glass door. There are no suspects.

Tuesday 10/20

5:45PM To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a burglary in progress. Deputies arrived and, after a short standoff, took three suspects into custody. One of the suspects was in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine. It was taken to be submitted to the lab. Criminal charges are pending lab results.

9:39PM To Osborn Rd. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that his mother-in-law came to his home and found the back door wide open. There was no forced entry and the back door is typically unlocked. He said that a TV, DVD player and laptop computer were missing. A cigarette butt was found outside the home and was taken as evidence. There are no suspects.

Wednesday 10/21

11:55AM To E. Lake Ave. for a report of a possible forged prescription. A woman reported that a suspect was asking for pain medication for a healthy tooth. State pharmacy records were checked and they showed that he filled a prescription in July, 2015 by a doctor who had retired in February, 2015. A copy of the report was forwarded to the State Pharmacy Board.

9:23PM To Alpha Rd. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he is staying with his grandmother. He said that his uncle came to the home and told him that his grandmother wanted him to leave. He said that he told his uncle that she did not say any such thing. He said his uncle then grabbed him by the throat, shoved him against a wall and told him that he had no right to be there. He said his uncle also struck him in the eye and threw him to the ground. He had an eye injury consistent with the attack he said he sustained. He did not wish to press charges. The grandmother told the deputy that her grandson was welcome at her home. After reviewing the report, the deputy filed domestic violence charges against the uncle and a warrant was issued.

10:17PM To W. National Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman advised that she arrived home to find that her husband had been drinking. She said she confronted him about it and he got upset and threw a glass of water on her and threw some beans at her. She said he also slapped her face, then left the residence. She said that she did not wish to press charges, but wanted him picked up for DUI.

Thursday 10/22

4:07PM To Portland Ave. for a neighbor complaint. A man reported that he arrived home to find his vehicles covered with sawdust. He said a neighbor had cut down a tree and the sawdust fell onto his vehicles. He said he asked the neighbor for $300 but was refused. He then asked the neighbor for $150 but was refused. The neighbor offered to blow the sawdust off of his vehicles but the man refused. He said he would seek repayment through a civil claim.

Friday 10/23

6:03AM To Slayton Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and her boyfriend had been out drinking and an argument began. She did not give many details citing that she did not want to press charges. She said that her boyfriend put a pillow over her face and tried to suffocate her. She said she began kicking him to get him off of her and probably broke her toe. The boyfriend said that she accused him of cheating on her and that she began punching him in the face. He said that her kids also punched him and kicked him. Her daughter said that she was trying to help her mother because she saw the boyfriend naked on top of her mother, and her mother was screaming for help. She said she grabbed his phone and keys and that he came after her. Another daughter said she was in her room and came out to see what the commotion was about and saw the boyfriend running through the house naked and chasing people. She said that he pushed her. The boyfriend was charged with two counts of domestic violence and one count of assault and transported to the Clark County Jail.

4:41PM To Winona Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that his nephew who lives with him assaulted him. He said that when the nephew came home today, the nephew pushed him at the front door, handed him his house key and said that he no longer wanted to live there. He said the two argued about his moving out and the nephew shoved him causing him to fall to the ground, scraping his knee. A warrant was issued for the nephew for domestic violence and assault.

Saturday 10/24

12:54AM Traffic stop in the 2700 block of Lake Rd. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The driver said that he did not have his license with him. HE spoke with low, thick speech and his hands had severe tremors. His eyes were watery and red. He was slow and unsteady getting out of the vehicle. The driver said that he had been smoking marijuana while they were driving around. The driver failed several field sobriety tests and was charged with OVI and failure to signal a turn.

1:14AM To Charles Rd. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he was “hanging out” at a friend’s home on W. Jefferson St. When they got into an argument over a game of pool. He said the friend punched him several times in his face. He said that when he turned his back the friend and an unknown male jumped him and hit his face and back. He said he then left the residence and called 911.

12:23PM To Madison St. A man reported that someone broke out the window to his vehicle and stole the hood. He said that he did not know who took it, but he would be checking Craigslist to see if someone is trying to sell it. He said he has photos of the hood and can identify it.

4:58PM To Lambers Dr. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that she and her husband were arguing over his coming home drunk after being out with friends. She said that he tried to take the keys to her vehicle and leave. He does not have a license. She said he then grabbed her phone and threw it to the ground to keep her from calling police. She said he then tried to get the keys again and punched her in the face and chest in the process. She said that she has two children with health issues and now has no phone or vehicle in case of an emergency. A neighbor said that the husband has assaulted the woman in the past, and he has previous domestic violence convictions. A warrant was issued for one count of disruption of public service, one count of domestic violence and one count of assault.

Bethel Township

Friday, 10/23

7:38AM  Disturbance reported in the 7700 block of Windham Dr.  A verbal disagreement between mother and daughter that resulted in both parties pushing each other.  Neither party wished to pursue charges.  Daughter decided to leave for the day until the situation cooled down.  

1:09PM  Theft not in progress in the 7400 block of US Route 40.  RP advised that two antique sleds were missing.  The sleds had been sitting in RP’s yard and were last seen around 6 p.m. on Oct. 22.  No leads or suspects as this time.  

Saturday, 10/24

1:40AM  Traffic stop in the area of S. Dayton Brandt and Agenbroad Road. Vehicle stop was initiated for lane violations.  Contact was made with the driver, Brooke L. Moore and passenger/owner Audrey Miller (age 20).  While speaking with Moore an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detecting coming from the vehicle.  Agreeing to a series of standardized field sobriety tests, Moore was unable to complete them as instructed.    Moore was placed under arrest for OVI.  Miller admitted that she allowed Moore to drive since she had also been drinking.  Acknowledging she is underage, Miller was issued a citation for underage consumption.  Moore was transported back to MCSO and agreed to a breath test (.198 BAC).  Moore was issued a citation for OVI and lanes of travel.  

12:12PM  Accident with no injury in the S. Dayton Brandt and Agenbroad Road.  The driver stated he had swerved to miss hitting a rabbit and rolled his vehicle.  It was discovered the driver, David Jennings, driver’s license was suspended.  Jennings was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension.  

2:38PM  Theft not in progress reported in the 9700 block of Palmer Road.  RP advised that a 1932 Ford Coupe had been stolen.  

Sunday, 10/25

2:48AM  Traffic stop in the area of Rudy Road and E. State Route 571.  Vehicle was stopped for a lane violation. Contact was made with the driver/owner Tyler S. Killingsworth and passengers Richard H. Williams III, Arly G. Day and a juvenile age 17.  The reason for the stop was explained and an odor of burnt marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.  Deputy explained that he would be conducting a probable cause search since he detected the smell of burnt marijuana.  Killingsworth admitted that all occupants had just smoked marijuana blunt before the traffic stop.  He also admitted there was another blunt in the vehicle and 14 grams in his trunk.  During the vehicle search a pack of rolling papers, scales and two clear bags of marijuana were found.  At the conclusion of the stop the driver and three passengers were issued citations for using/possession of marijuana.  

4:03AM  Traffic stop in the area of Studebaker Rd and S. State Route 202.  Vehicle was stopped for a speeding violation.  During the stop K9 Bear was deployed resulting in the driver being cited for possession of marijuana along with speeding.    

Tuesday, 10/27

10:54AM  Fraud reported in the 5700 block of Studebaker Road.  RP advised that an unknown person had attempted to open a loan for $5,000 using RP’s personal information.  

6:59PM  Theft not in progress in the 8000 block of New Carlisle Road.  A theft of money was reported and the suspect admitted to the theft.  Charges were filed.

Wednesday, 10/28

1:59PM  Fraud reported in the 5500 block of Ross Road.  RP felt she had been scammed.  An attempt was made to purchase a dog online.  She had sent an $800 money order to a Jonathan Herman in Philadelphia, PA.  RP had contacted Herman multiple times who stated he had shipped the dog.  RP contacted the shipping company and asked about the dog.  The company advised her that they had not received the dog.  They further stated several calls are received daily with people complaining about Herman and being scammed out of money.
