Monday 12/5

5:02 a.m. To Bookwalter Ave. for a report of a theft. A woman said that when she went to her vehicle she found that a window was broken and the middle console was open. She said her driver’s license, Social Security card, birth certificate, $400 in cash and two bank cards were taken. Deputies were called to the scene again at 6:45 a.m. The suspect had returned and was trying to rummage through the vehicle again. She said her father tried to apprehend the suspect but he took off in a blue sedan. Attempts to locate the vehicle were unsuccessful.

7:59 a.m. To Old Lower Valley Pike for a report of a breaking and entering. A man reported that sometime overnight, someone broke into the business and took the keys to a vehicle, then left with the vehicle. He provided a plate number and said that he would press charges against the suspect. There are surveillance cameras, but the man said he doesn’t know how to work it. A detective was called to the scene to assist in getting the video.

10:41 a.m. To the Quality Food Mart for a report of bad checks. A man reported that two individuals had written checks to the business but both were returned. He said he spoke with both individuals and they promised to make good on the checks, but never did. He said he wants to press charges. It is unknown if the checks are fake or if they were stolen.

5:42 p.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone spray painted the hood of her vehicle. She identified a possible suspect who has caused her problems in the past. She said that she had paid the possible suspect $675 to install a garage door, but he never completed the work.

Tuesday 12/6

10:13 a.m. To Raynor Park for a report of damage to the park. Someone had driven a vehicle on the soccer fired and did donuts, causing extensive tire marks throughout the field. There are no suspects.

1:21 p.m. To Queen Rd. for a report of a suspicious individual. A woman reported that a known drug user was seen walking out of her front yard this morning. She said the subject has overdosed a few times in the past and has recently been seen roaming around aimlessly. She requested extra patrols.

3:28 p.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone spray painted her vehicle. She was able to remove the paint by wiping it off. She said that a neighbor has video of four juveniles painting her vehicle. Attempts to contact the neighbor were unsuccessful.

Wednesday 12/7

12:14 a.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his wife were arguing about sleeping arrangements. He said she became upset and took their daughter and went upstairs. He said he went up to bring the daughter back downstairs and she pushed and scratched him and hit him in the head. The wife said that she went upstairs with their daughter to talk with her mother about the husband leaving with their daughter. She said he came upstairs and tried to take the daughter away from her. She said she grabbed his arm, but he moved and she inadvertently grabbed his collar and scratched his neck. She said she was concerned that he was going to take their daughter to Texas. The mother said her daughter came to her expressing concern that the man was going to take her daughter. She said the man walked through the living room with a handgun. She said he was trying to take the daughter from the wife’s arms, that she tried to stop him, but he was able to get her. He was advised that no charges would be filed since he was scratched accidentally. All parties agreed to stay separated for the rest of the night.

6:34 a.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of theft. A woman reported that someone broke a window in her vehicle and took her purse. Her husband said someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took some power tools. There are no suspects.

9:21 a.m. To Stafford Rd. for a report of fraud. A woman reported that someone purchased a phone on her account without her permission. She said she was notified by email last night and called the store this morning to advise them that the purchase was fraudulent. The phone was shipped to an address in Miamisburg, but no other information was available.

Thursday 12/8

8:24 a.m. To N. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a scam. Adult Protective Services reported that a resident was scammed out of $8500. She said the resident received a call from someone claiming that his grandson was involved in an accident and needed money to set things right. She said he was instructed to go to Target and put $4000 on a Target card, then to call back with the number. After he did that, he received another call and was told that another $4500 was needed before his grandson could be released. He said he got another card and called back with the number. She said she has already informed the Attorney General’s office.

Saturday 12/10

1:14 p.m. Traffic stop in the 500 block of Winchester St. During a probable cause search, a meth pipe containing meth was located under the driver’s seat. Charges are pending outcome of lab results. The driver was cited for expired plates and arrested on an outstanding warrant.

3:32 p.m. To Chalet Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he is in the process of moving and he and his mother were arguing over money. He said that she told him she doesn’t want him there unless she is home. He also said that he is giving her $1300 per month to care for his two boys. The mother said she is tired of her grandchildren tearing up the house and stealing from her. She said that she is going to the court house on Monday to begin eviction proceedings. He was advised that it would be a good idea to wait a few days to pick up the rest of his belongings. He agreed to coordinate a time with his mother.

6:22 p.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that his bank contacted him and said that they were sending him a new credit card. He said he called the bank and they said that someone claiming to be him gave most of his personal information, but got one item wrong, so they cancelled his card and that they were sending a new one.

Sunday 12/11

7:47 a.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of vandalism. A man reported that he caught three juveniles “messing” with his inflatable Santa in his front yard. He said they appear to be 14 or 15 years old. He said that they were “beating my Santa to death.” The parents were notified and returned home.

Monday 12/12

3:25 a.m. To Rawson Dr. for a report of menacing. A man reported that he just ended a 2-year long-distance relationship with a woman. He said he called her this morning to tell her that it was over. He said she became upset and threatened to kill him. He said he sent her a text message advising her that she shouldn’t say things like that and that he was filing a police report. He was advised to close all accounts with her.

11:11 a.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a report of a domestic dispute. A man reported that his wife stole his jewelry after she blamed him for removing the lug nuts from her vehicle. The wife asked him to leave to avoid any further problems. He agreed to do so. He was advised to call for a peace officer when he returned for the rest of his belongings.

2:57 p.m. To the Bethel Twp. Fire House for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman said that her husband began attacking her after she asked him for a cigarette. She said that he punched and slapped her and drug her through the house by her hair. She said she ran out to her vehicle and went to the Fire House to report the incident. Deputies went to visit the husband and he was advised of the complaint. He said the only time he touched her was when he grabbed her arm when she was in her vehicle. The RP sustained multiple visible injuries consistent with her story. The husband was arrested for domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

Wednesday 12/14

12:00 p.m. To N. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a former employee who was fired a year ago had asked him if he would care for her cats because she had no place for them. He said he has cared for the cats and has paid vet bills for them. He said that today she came onto the property, entered a closed building and took the cats and their items. The woman said that the cats weren’t being cared for and that one had died. Another former employee reported that she had heard the RP tell the woman several times that she could come get the cats whenever she wanted to. The deputy spoke with the prosecutor’s office, and they would not support charges. The RP was advised that this is a civil matter. He said he wanted the employee trespassed from his property. She was advised and understood.

Thursday 12/15

1:46 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an unresponsive individual. A woman was reported passed out in her vehicle. When deputies arrived, they were advised that the woman had gone home. At the address given, deputies saw a man and a woman near a vehicle. The man said that they were behind the vehicle in question and saw the woman passed out. He said that his wife is a nurse and tried to awaken the woman who said she was just really tired. He said he and his wife offered her help getting home, so the wife drove her vehicle and the husband followed. The woman smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. All she said was “I didn’t drive.” She refused field sobriety tests and was very argumentative. She was arrested and taken to the jail for a breath test which she also refused. She was released to her grandfather.

1:24 p.m. To Sheryl Rd. A man reported that neighbors informed him that his home was broken into while he was out of the state. Deputies responded to the home and found the home broken into. The man said that a rifle was missing from the bedroom. A pry bar was found in the home that does not belong to the RP.

Friday 12/16

5:31 p.m. To Corvette Ave. for a report of theft. A woman reported that someone tried to make three charges to her credit card account. She said the charges were stopped by the store. The transactions occurred on November 23, and the shipping address was in Vermont. She was advised to cancel her card. Since the transactions were stopped, she suffered no financial loss.

11:27 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and her husband were arguing. She said she was mad because he took their kids to her mother’s home. She said the argument was not physical and no threats were made. She was advised that the deputy couldn’t do anything about it because they are married.

Saturday 12/17

6:30 p.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that her ex-fiancee has been harassing her with phone calls, text messages and Facebook messages. She said that today he called and said “I told you I wanted to see my daughter. I’m not going to stop and am going to keep calling.” She said she has filed for a protection order and is awaiting a court date. The fiancée was contacted and hung up on the deputy. The fiancée called back and said that the RP has been contacting him about visitation with their daughter. He said that he has not made any threats to the RP. Both parties were advised not to contact each other in the future.

Monday 12/19

9:20 a.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a friend had spent the night last night. He said that when the friend left, he found that a pistol had been removed from his safe. He said he has no contact information for the suspect.

1:00 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of a stolen vehicle. A woman reported that she left her vehicle running to warm up so she could go to a doctor’s appointment. She said when she was ready to leave, the vehicle was gone. The vehicle was entered into the system as stolen. At about 4:47 p.m., a deputy saw the vehicle on Lake Rd. He tried to follow it, but found it abandoned on W. Carpenter Dr. A K9 was called to track the suspects, but the track was called off at Shirra And Weinland. The owner arrived to pick up her vehicle.

Tuesday 12/20

11:36 a.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone entered his residence and took $55 cash. He said that a friend of the family was in the home earlier in the day, and that she has a history of theft. He had no contact information for her.

Wednesday 12/21

8:18 p.m. To Sycamore Rd. for a report of an unruly juvenile. A woman reported that her 11-year-old daughter picked up her 8-year-old sister and body slammed her, spit on her and threatened to kill the family. She wanted the incident documented.

Saturday 12/24

6:15 p.m. To W. national Rd. for a report of a possible domestic dispute. A woman reported that her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend were arguing. The boyfriend left before deputies arrived. The daughter said she was upset because her mother was gone all day. There were no threats or acts of violence.


Bethel Township (Miami Co)

Friday 12/23

4:34 p.m. Disturbance reported at A and R Reck MHP, 4220 US Route 40. Deputy met with complainant, Jennifer Ross, across the street from the incident. Accompanying her was a family member and four small children. Ross stated her boyfriend, Michael Smith, had been physical with her. She stated they recently moved to the address listed and money was tight. They had been arguing for several days and today Smith told her to leave. She alleged Smith had grabbed her by the back of the neck and attempted to push her out of the trailer. Deputy observed some redness in the area she described. The shirt she was wearing was covered in what appeared to be nasal mucous. Ross stated when she didn’t leave he blew a “snot rocket” at her. Ross didn’t want anything done but she did want to file a protection order. Ross was told due to attending physical violence and the redness on her back the deputy had to investigate the matter. Ross refused to cooperate and refused to fill out a domestic violence packet. Deputy went to the location of the incident to speak with Smith. He denied being physical with Ross and stated she was the one that had been physical. He said she had entered the trailer while he was sleeping, kicked the side of his mattress and began calling him names. He said due to the children being in the residence, he had refused to argue with her. This resulted in Ross punching him in the eye. Deputy did observe puffiness around his eye that appeared to be fresh. Smith said he called a family member to pick Ross up. When asked about the “snot” on the shirt he stated the shirt was old and he had blown his nose on it several times earlier. Smith stated he didn’t want Ross charged. He was advised due to the conflicting stories and both having physical marks, they were both going to be arrested for domestic violence. Smith remained polite but said he no longer wanted to cooperate with the deputies. Michael Smith was placed into custody and transported to the Incarceration Facility. Jennifer Ross stated she knew she was going to be arrested for the injury to Smith’s eye but refused to admit causing the injury. Ross was placed into custody for domestic violence and transported to the Miami County Jail. Ross was charged with domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the 1st degree. Smith had two prior convictions and was charged with domestic violence, a felony of the 3rd degree.

5:36 p.m. Theft reported in the 6700 block of Singer Road. RP believes he knows who could have stolen a drill and car charger from his property. He thinks this female has a drug problem and had lived on his property. Deputy checked LEADS online and discovered this female had 34 pawn slips associated with her name but none of the items listed included a drill or car charger. The RP was not aware of where this female was living and unsure of how to contact her. Case is inactive unless a new lead was to develop.

Saturday 12/24

1:32 p.m. Unruly juvenile reported in the 8100 block of Flick Road. Father reported his son had struck him in the face. Father stated the had gotten into a verbal argument about the son’s behavior. During the argument is when the son struck his father. Contact was made with the son who confirmed the argument took place but denied striking his father. The father signed a Domestic Violence charge and his son was taken into custody. He was then transported to West Central Juvenile Rehabilitation Center and booked for Domestic Violence.

Monday 12/26

7:25 p.m. Accident with no injury in the area of Palmer and Bellefontaine Road.

9:10p.m. Disturbance reported in the 100 block of Solar Drive, Sunshine MHP. Husband and wife were intoxicated and in an argument over medication. There was nothing physical and no threats of physical violence. Wife advised she would be speaking to husband’s doctor tomorrow regarding the medication.

Wednesday 12/28

1:55 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 4800 block of Studebaker Road. RP called 911 to report several individuals trespassing on her property. After further investigation, three individuals were located on the property and trespassed. All three left the scene without incident.

Thursday 12/29

8:54 a.m. Abandoned vehicle reported in the 9300 block of S. State Route 201. Deputy found a green Ford Taurus in a ditch against a culvert. Dispatch was unable to locate a phone number for the registered owner. Clarke County deputy was requested to respond to the residence but was unable to make contact with registered owner. Vehicle was towed.

1:09 p.m. Accident with no injury in the area of US Route 40 and Palmer Road.
