Sat 12/17

10:58 a.m. Trespassing complaint at Honey Creek Preserve, 4536 S. State Route 202. A refused caller reported someone may be hunting on park property. After responding to the area, the deputy discovered tire tracks leading into the field north of State Route 571. He later discovered foot prints that lead back towards park property. After further investigation, a trail camera and pile of feed were located. Unsure if this is park property, a parks employee was contact and the information was forwarded. He advised he would follow up and investigate the matter.

Sun 12/18

1:19 a.m. Suspicious vehicle in the 5200 block of E. State Route 571. Deputy approached the truck and observed a male moving around inside the truck on the passenger side. The driver and passenger were ordered to show the deputy their hands due to the dark window tint on the vehicle. Deputy approached the vehicle and made contact with Danielle L. Elliot who was sitting in the driver’s seat. The passenger was identified as Larry Hudson. Upon running Hudson’s information, it was discovered he had an active warrant for Burglary out of Franklin County. Hudson was ordered out of the vehicle and placed into handcuffs. Deputy returned to the vehicle to speak with Elliot and the deputy observed a pill bottle in her purse. After closer examination, the name on the bottle didn’t match Elliot’s. Elliot was removed from the vehicle and placed into the backset of a cruiser. While searching Elliot’s purse, the deputy located several flashlights, unscrewing the cap marijuana was found in one. A second flashlight contained a white crystal like substance. Continuing the search, also located were two glass pipes, small scale, plastic baggies, torches and another pill bottle. A further search of Elliot’s purse found several credit and EBT cards that were not in her name. She was charged with drug trafficking, drug possession of meth, crack cocaine and marijuana along with drug paraphernalia. Elliot was transported and incarcerated at the Miami County Jail. Hudson was transported to Miami County Sheriff’s Office and incarcerated on the warrant.

Tues 12/20

7:20 a.m. Theft not in progress reported in the 9100 block of S. State Route 201. Unknown person(s) had removed eight (8) heavy duty batteries from two (2) semi-trucks that were parked on the property overnight.

5:50 p.m. Accident with injuries reported in the area of Ross and Wildcat Roads.

Wed 12/21

2:35 a.m. Traffic stop for obstructed license plate in the area of S. State Route 201 and Singer road. Contact was made with the driver, Michael S. Sammons and reason for the stop explained. Sammons admitted he has a suspended driver’s license. While speaking with him and the passenger, a faint odor of burnt marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Checking Sammons’ information through Dayton Capias, it was also discovered that he had a warrant through Dayton for DUS. Sammons was placed under arrest and read his Miranda Rights. Sammons said the truck he was driving belonged to a friend. Because the rightful owner was at work, the truck would be towed. Sammons was transported to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked on the warrant. He was issued a citation for DUS and obstructed license plate. The passenger was dropped off at Tim Hortons in Huber Heights.

8:18 p.m. Traffic stop for license plate light not illuminated in the area of Ross Road and S. State Route 202. Contact was made with the driver, Sammy Bercot, and the reason the stop explained. Bercot advised he was aware the light was not working and further stated he did not have a valid driver’s license. Bercot was run through LEADS and it was found he had failed to reinstate the license. He was cited for the license infraction and warned for the plate light. His passenger did not have a valid license and they were unable to find someone to come and get them and the vehicle. The vehicle was legally parked off the road way and the two were transported to the passenger’s address in Troy.

4:06 p.m. Accident with no injury in the 8900 block of S. State Route 202.
