Clark County

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has made changes to their systems, and we are having difficulties getting access to the reports from that office. We have been in contact with the deputies and cadets responsible for distributing the reports, and hope to resume the Sheriff Reports in January.

Bethel Township (Miami Co.)

Tuesday, Dec 6

2:07 p.m. Menacing complaint at Bethel Middle School, 7490 S. State Route 201. Principal was approached by a student who was concerned about another male student commenting that he was bringing a gun to school and planned to shoot students. An Instagram page was found for the male student and a couple of photos with guns were found on this page. This male student was released to his mother and the deputy made contact with them at their residence. The student denied having possession of guns and making any statements concerning shooting people at the school. The seventh grader did receive a ten-day suspension based on the alleged threats.

Thursday. Dec 8

5:59p.m. Trespassing complaint in the 6600 block of Bethelville Drive. Deputy responded in reference to a disturbance which had occurred during a child exchange. The RP requested a female be trespassed from the property. Contact was made with the female and warned for her trespassing. She stated she understood and would not return to the property.

Friday, Dec 9

2:50 p.m. Criminal damages reported in the 6300 block of Studebaker Road. Back door glass and a window had been broken. No further information available.

Sunday, Dec 11

5:55 p.m. Telecommunication harassment in the 6800 block of Wonder Way. RP works with an organization that helps veterans with PTSD. RP advised working with a male who called the night before needing money to support a possible heroin addiction. RP told the male there would be no monetary support and the male became upset. RP had a meeting the next morning with the VA to discuss this incident but also requested a report from the Sheriff’s office. RP was advised to call 911 if the male showed up at the residence.

Monday, Dec 12

4:20 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 7500 block of US Route 40. RP reported a male, identified as Derekk Wilson, threatened to kill him. Wilson was at the residence with a female and the RP stated Wilson thought the female had been in the residence long enough and started yelling and made the threat “I will kill you”. RP requested menacing charges be filed against Wilson. Deputy was able to contact Wilson regarding the incident and he stated a female exited the residence and wanted to attack him. He further stated he got out of the car to defend himself. Wilson was advised he was being cited with menacing.

6:25 p.m. Accident with no injuries in the 7900 block of Scarff Road. At the conclusion of the investigation, the driver Vickie S. Roberts was arrested for suspicion of OVI, open contained and failure to control.

11:36 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and S. State Route 202. Deputy observed vehicle did not have an illuminated license plate light and traveling in a weaving manner. Traffic stop was initiated and contact made with driver Casey Nawman. Deputy detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. While Nawman was searching for his license and registration a beer can was observed on the front passenger floor. Nawman admitted to drinking, had been intoxicated and decided to take a nap. He was on his way to get food when he was stopped. He also admitted he still felt the effects of alcohol and that could be the reason for his erratic driving. Nawman agreed to submit to a series of field sobriety tests. Unable to complete the tests as instructed, Nawman was placed under arrest for OVI. He was transported back to the Miami County Sheriff’s office where he refused to submit to a breath test. Nawman was issued citations for OVI, lanes of travel and open container in a motor vehicle.
