Sun 11/27

12:15 p.m. Traffic stop on I-70 near I-675. The vehicle had no front plate, and the driver said it was on the dash. He said he had no ID and questioned the deputy when asked to step out of the vehicle. He said that he had done nothing wrong and had a constitutional right not to answer the deputy. He was advised that he was obstructing justice and again refused to exit the vehicle and insisted that a supervisor be called to the scene. Three other deputies soon arrived and he finally exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. He was found to have an active warrant for robbery with a nationwide pickup. The deputy checked the vehicle and found marijuana, scales, rolling papers, a bag with white powder residue and a torch. The driver said they were not his. He was taken to the Clark County Jail for a urine test. He was charged with the fugitive warrant, obstructing official business, obstructing justice, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, failure to comply, failure to identify and no operator’s license.

2:54 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a fire. Several bales of cardboard boxes were on fire, and the New Carlisle Fire Dept. had already arrived. A store employee said he used two fire extinguishers before the Fire Dept. arrived. Chief Trusty said it appeared that all of the bales were lit separately, leading him to believe that the fire was intentionally set. There were no witnesses.

Mon 11/28

1:12 a.m. Traffic stop on Main St. south of Church St. The drive rsaid he did not have a license. He was very animated and loud when speaking with the deputy, and had dilated pupils and watery bloodshot eyes. The deputy could see a whiskey bottle on the rear floorboard. He could also see that the driver had a glass with a drink in it. The deputy asked for the glass and determined that it was alcoholic. The driver was found to be under suspension. Both the driver and the passenger smelled of an alcoholic beverage. He said that he had taken a Flexaril and a Zenaflex yesterday around noon and had taken the prescribed amount. He said he did not know if there were any labels on the medication warning him not to drive. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the New Carlisle Substation for a urine test. He was charged with OVI, habitual alcoholic suspension and two counts of failure to reinstate.

8:13 p.m. To Dallas Rd. A woman reported that she found her vehicle at this location. She said that she had been looking for it all day. She said the last time she saw it was this morning. The seats had been cut and the navigation screen had been scratched. She said she did not know when her vehicle was taken nor who would have taken it.

Tue 11/29

11:52 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she told her boyfriend that he had to leave for the night, but he instead went into a closet and started crying and said that he would eat pills if she left him. The boyfriend denied saying any such thing. He said he was tired because he had a lot on his mind but would not hurt himself in any way. The girlfriend then said that it was OK for him to stay the night since he had to be at work early in the morning.

1:36 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Dispatch advised that the husband was moving out and the wife was afraid he could become violent. The wife said that her husband did not get a job that he wanted, that she was asking him about money and he began to yell. She said he then told her that he was moving out and started moving his items from the apartment. The husband said his wife was crazy and he was glad to be moving out. Both denied any physical activity. The husband was advised to call for a deputy to stand by when he came to get the rest of his belongings.

Wed 11/30

11:41 a.m. A woman came to the New Carlisle substation to report a domestic dispute with her boyfriend that occurred on Cliffside Dr. She said that the two started arguing late last night. She said the argument became heated, so she left and stayed with a friend for the night. She said she returned around 8:30 this morning and her boyfriend again began arguing with her, called her names and demanded money from her. She said she gave him $250 and said that was all she had. She said he became upset and threw cans at her. She said she grabbed her purse and headed for the front door when he threw another object at her, hitting her on her ear. She said he has guns in the home, and has said that if she ever called law enforcement, it wouldn’t turn out good. They went to the home, and the boyfriend asked what they were doing there. He had two guns near him, and said he was working on them. He was placed under arrest for domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

3:40 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone shot out his security light overnight. He said he replaced the light about 2-3 weeks ago and found BBs on the ground around the light. He wanted the incident documented.

3:46 p.m. To W. Main St. ,Medway, for a report of a hone scam. A woman reported that she keeps receiving phone calls from an unknown number telling her that she won $5000 and that she could pick it up at a Western Union office. She wanted the incidents documented.

9:07 p.m. To Klose Ave. for a report of a juvenile left alone. A woman reported that an unknown woman and a juvenile knocked at her door asking for people who did not live there. She said that she let them in to get warm. She said the woman then started acting strangely and was talking to people who were not present. She said that the woman went outside to smoke. She said she looked outside later and the woman was not there. The deputy contacted Children’s Services to make arrangements for a place for the child to stay. While getting the juvenile ready for transport, the woman returned. She was arrested for one count of child endangering.

11:03 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her boyfriend was outside with a friend trying to buy an amplifier. She said that she became upset when he came back in, believing that he is doing drugs. She said she told him to leave, but he said that it is his residence, too, and that he doesn’t have to leave. She said he tried to spit at her, but then went outside. She said she will be contacting the landlord to start the eviction process because she doesn’t want him there any more. The boyfriend said that she is lying in order to be with another male. He said he did help a friend buy an amplifier, but that he is not doing drugs. He said he is tired of her lies so he is just going to move on. He said he would be staying with an friend and would call to have a deputy stand by tomorrow when he comes to pick up the rest of his belongings.

Thurs 12/1

6:26 a.m. To Andrews Ln. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was arguing with her husband and it turned physical. She said he struck her, threw her on the couch and tried to suffocate her, threw her against a wall and hit her in the back with a belt. She said her cell phone was also damaged. She said his mother picked him up before deputies arrived. They soon returned, and said that they had a verbal argument that turned physical. He said he called his mother to pick him up and take him out of the house until deputies arrived. The RP had injuries consistent with her story, and there were things that had been thrown around consistent with her story. The husband was arrested for domestic violence, assault and disruption of a public service and was taken to the Clark County Jail.

Fri 12/2

12:30 p.m. Neighbor complaint in the 6800 block of US Route 40. RP recently found a note on front porch that was written by a neighbor. The note accuses the RP of putting cigarette butts on his patio, breaking windows on his house and killing his trees. RP has consulted an attorney regarding the issues with the neighbor and requested a report to document the complaint.

5:09 p.m. Accident with no injury in the 7000 block of Staley Road. Deputy was dispatched on the report of a vehicle wrecked in a ditch. Dispatch advised a white male driver was seen exiting the vehicle and walking south bound on St. Route 201. When deputy arrived on the scene he was unable to locate the male. Dispatch was also unable to contact the registered owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene and a hold was placed on the vehicle until the deputy can identify who was driving at the time of the wreck.

Sat 12/3

9:03 a.m. Disturbance in the 6600 block of Walnut Street. A citizen called dispatch stating she heard a female yelling; then saw a female with blood on her shirt and bruises on her head. She stated the female told her she had gotten into a fight with another female and asked to use her phone. Deputy arrived at a residence and spoke with a male. He stated that another male and two females had been arguing when the two females got into a physical fight. The females had left the residence and was unsure where they went. Deputies searched the area and were unable to located them.

2:03 p.m. Unruly juvenile reported in the 8100 block of Flick Road. Juvenile was unhappy with a comment that was made by a younger sibling. Juvenile yelling at mom, sibling and punched the lamp. The juvenile not minding the mom and not going to school has been an ongoing problem. Mom was advised to court and pursue unruly juvenile charges.

Mon 12/5

00:32 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 201 and Ross Road. Deputy observed a vehicle that appeared to be traveling at a slow speed (35 mph in a 55 mph zone). When the vehicle passed, the deputy noticed there was not a front license plate displayed. Deputy turned around and began to follow the vehicle, observed the vehicle turn onto SR 201 and travel left of center, entering into the south bound lane. Traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver Mikayla Howard and passengers Jason Thorp Jr and Morgan White. Howard acknowledged the lane violation but would not make eye contact with the deputy. She explained they had just gotten off work and decided to drive around Bethel Township to see the country roads. Howard was asked to exit the vehicle and then admitted there was a marijuana blunt in the ashtray but didn’t think there was anything else illegal in the vehicle. The two passengers were also asked to exit the vehicle also admitting to smoking the marijuana blunt. Located in the vehicle was two brown partially smoked cigars that contained green plant material and smelled like burn/raw marijuana. Located in the center console was a metal pipe that contained burnt residue. In the back seat under clothes was a clear baggy that also contained green plant material. Howard was issued a citation for left of center, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Thorp and White were issued citations for possession of marijuana.

3:05 a.m. Traffic stop for lane violation in the area of S. Dayton Brandt and New Carlisle Roads. Contact was made with driver Dylan Butts and passenger David Carroll. Deputy noted that the temperature was approximately 35 degrees and all four vehicle windows were down and several air fresheners were hanging from the ceiling. Also noticed were several pieces of green plant material that appeared to be marijuana on the back seat passenger’s lap. Butts admitted he rolls up marijuana in his vehicle but didn’t think there was anything but marijuana debris. All three were asked to exit the vehicle and located in the ashtray was a partially smoked cigar that contained green plant material. Another partially smoked cigar was located on the driver side floor, in the center console was a grinder that also contained green plant debris. Located on the back passenger side seat was a black box that contained two silver scrapping spoons, a glass bowl that contained a brown sticky substance, another container that contained a brown sticky substance, clear glass price, silver metal piece with heat discoloration on one end, large glass piece that contained a brown sticky substance and a long skinny glass pipe that contained a brown sticky substance. Butts claimed ownership of all the items and was issued a citation for lanes of travel, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Butts was also informed the deputy would be contacting the prosecutor about the pipe he used to smoke concentrated marijuana and he could face additional charges. David Carroll was arrested on a warrant out of Huber Heights for receiving stolen property. Huber Heights picked Carroll up at the county line.

Tues 12/6

00:59 a.m. Suspicious activity in the area of N. Second Street and US Route 40. Deputy was behind a vehicle that turned quickly into a residential driveway and turned off the headlights. Deputy could watch the vehicle from a distance and approximately a minute later the vehicle headlights were turned back on with the vehicle was backed out of the driveway. Deputy was able to get behind the vehicle and it quickly pulled into another driveway and again turned off the headlights. Deputy pulled up to the driver’s side and observed the driver jump from the driver’s seat to middle back seat. Before the deputy could approach the vehicle, the driver got back into the driver’s seat. Contact was made with the driver Katrina Cheadle and passenger Britaney Kirchgessner and reason for the stop explained. Cheadle admitted to having a suspended license and she tried to make it look like she wasn’t driving. She was asked to exit the vehicle to speak with the deputy. Cheadle admitted there was a cigar sleeve in the vehicle used for smoking marijuana. She wasn’t sure if there was anything else illegal in the vehicle. After Cheadle was secured in the rear of the cruiser, deputy returned to the vehicle to speak with Kirchgessner. She explained that two weeks ago she had smoked meth and earlier that day she smoked a bowl of marijuana. She also admitted to having a scale in her bag that she used to weigh meth when she smoked it. Located in Kirchgessner’s bag was three digital scales that contained white powder residue, plastic auto visor mirror that contained white torn piece of paper and white powder residue. Kirchgessner admitted the white residue was methamphetamine. Located in Cheadle’s purse was a grinder that contained green plant debris that smelled like raw marijuana. Kirchgessner was found to have a warrant out of Clark County for possession of dangerous drugs. She was also issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. Because there was not a quantitative amount of the white power, she was not charged with possession of meth. She was transported to the Clark County Line where she was released to a deputy. Cheadle was issued a citation for driving under a non-compliance suspension/drug suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was later released to a valid driver.

2:05 p.m. Deputy responded to Bethel Middle School on a menacing complaint. No further information available.

Wed 12/7

9:24 a.m. Fraud reported in the 8800 block of Palmer Road. Unknown person attempted to open a bank account using the RP’s social security number. A local report was need to file a report with the Attorney General.
