Sunday 8/21

4:05 a.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he was awakened by an ATV driving up and down the roadway. He said this is an ongoing problem, so he followed them in his vehicle. He said they stopped at a residence on Frayne Dr. He said two male individuals came to his vehicle and were threatening him and yelling. He said he got out to take pictures and one of the individuals struck him in the jaw. Deputies spoke with an individual at the residence who was slightly intoxicated and belligerent and said he was just sitting on the porch minding his own business. He said he would not let deputies into his home because he knows his rights. A neighbor across the street said he saw the RP yelling at his neighbor, but he did not see anyone strike the RP. He said the neighbor told the RP to leave several times, but he did not comply. The RP identified a photo of the individual who struck him, but deputies were unable to locate the subject.

11:04 a.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that she returned home to find items in her home missing. She said there was no forced entry. She said that she kept a spare key above the door frame and it was also missing. She said that her ex-boyfriend knew where the key was located and said he was at her residence on August 18 to pick up his personal items. She suspects he came back, used the spare key, entered her residence and stole the items. She said he is a felon, but has no idea where he is living now.

4:10 p.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of 4-wheelers racing on the roadway. The deputy was in the area and sat on Stratmore near Campbell for nearly an hour and did not see or hear any 4-wheelers. Another call came in at 5:05 p.m. about 4-wheelers in the area of Aspen and Carlotta. The RP said that they have been in the area for the past two weeks. He said that he has made several complaints and nothing gets done. He said a deputy responds, talks to the subjects causing the issues and then leaves and the commotion starts again. While sitting stationary on Aspen, another resident approached the deputy about the problem. All wished to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation. The deputy could hear subjects at one residence mean-mouthing the deputies and that the cruiser needed to be moved from in front of their residence. The deputy continued to type her report. The subjects then began yelling about 4-wheelers racing down the street and said the deputy had “better go chase them.” The deputy spoke with the subjects and told them that she was investigating the problem and that she could park anywhere on the public street. The subjects continued to curse and yell. The deputy advised them that their behavior was uncalled for. Another resident approached the deputy to complain about the noise from the subjects’ residence and that when deputies were called in the past, they would talk with the subjects as if they were old friends, then leave. Yet another resident, who is a law enforcement officer in another jurisdiction said he realized that the deputy has to witness the racing, but expressed frustration that nothing has been done. The deputy did not witness any vehicles racing in the area.

9:05 p.m. To First St., North Hampton for a report of possible child abuse. A woman reported that her son told his grandmother that his dad had disciplined him and left bruises that were still visible. She was advised that the deputy would have to respond to her residence, but she was not at home. She advised that she would call back when she returned home. After an hour, with no return call, the deputy responded to her residence. The woman stated that she did not call back because she learned that her son lied about the incident and didn’t want to get his father in trouble. He did not know how he got the bruise on his arm.

11:22 p.m. To S. Medway-New Carlisle Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her husband was packing for a business trip while she was working. She said that today she noticed that their box trailer was missing. She said she called her husband to see if he took it, and he said he didn’t. She said she asked neighbors if they saw anything and they noticed the trailer missing on August 15, but figured that the woman knew about it. She said the hitch was padlocked, and someone must have seen her husband packing and took the trailer when he left.

11:40 p.m. To Lake Shore Dr. A woman reported that she came home and heard someone in their shed. She said she and her husband walked to the shed and saw a shirt wadded up and flat cardboard boxes made into a makeshift bed. She said that this has happened before but wanted another report filed. The husband said that he would improve the security of the shed door.

Monday 8/22

10:31 a.m. To Troy Rd. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that someone used his personal information to obtain a credit card in Florida. He said that he has put a freeze on his account with credit agencies and wanted a report for his insurance company.

10:49 a.m. To Charles Dr. for a peace officer call. The property manager reported that the residents had been evicted and that there was an agreement that they could come today to remove their personal belongings and to sign over the title to the trailer to her. She asked that a deputy stand by due to the history with the residents. The residents removed their personal property and signed the title without incident.

4:00 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone charged over $250 on his credit card in Wisconsin. He said that he has never been to Wisconsin and that his bank notified him of the unusual charge.

5:11 p.m. To Galewood Dr. for a report of a violation of a protection order. A man reported that he has a protection order against his wife. He said that his wife has made several comments on Facebook that he knows are about him, but she does not mention his name. She did not contact him directly or tag him in any of the posts, but he said he knew the posts were toward him. He was advised that since she did not try to contact him personally, it was not a violation of the protection order.

10:50 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a possible stolen vehicle. While enroute, the deputy was informed that the parties were now on Joseph Dr. near Enon. A woman stated that her family is not happy with her life decisions and are trying to make life difficult. She said she took the vehicle but was afraid she would be in trouble because she had a suspended license. She said her husband picked up the vehicle and took it home to the National Rd. address. The deputy went back to the National Rd. address to speak with the husband. He said his wife is a drug user and took the vehicle today and was out buying drugs with her boyfriend. Both were advised that this is a civil issue.

Tuesday 8/23

9:16 a.m. To Weinland St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone stole her trash container. She said she called the refuse company to see if they picked it up, and they said they didn’t. She said the refuse company advised her to call law enforcement and report it stolen.

1:41 p.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a report of an accident. A woman reported that she was changing stations on her radio and inadvertently drifted into the opposite lane and sideswiped a passing vehicle breaking the outside mirrors on both vehicles. She was charged with failure to control.

3:20 p.m. To Dallas Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. While enroute, the deputy was advised that the male half was ramming his vehicle into the female half’s vehicle. A man stated that his live-in girlfriend “skimmed” his vehicle while he and a friend were in it. Neither the man nor his friend would sign a statement and the man did not wish to press charges. He said he just wanted her out. The girlfriend stated that the man started verbally arguing with her. She said that she told him she was leaving, and as she left he hit her in the side of her head while trying to get her keys from her. She suffered cuts to her fingers during the scuffle. She said he told her she could have her keys back when she gave him the house key. She said that once he got the house key, he told her to leave or he was going to make her leave. She said that he started hitting her vehicle with his while she was inside. She said she wanted to press charges and would assist in prosecution. The man was arrested and charged with one count of felony domestic violence and one count of assault. He was convicted in 2013 of negligent assault on a former girlfriend.

6:43 p.m. To Greenheart Dr. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that he was informed that someone opened a credit card using his name, but a Lima, Ohio address. He said that the account was opened on July 26 and that about $5,800 was charged to the account. He was advised to contact the bank with the report number.

7:29 p.m. To McAdams Dr. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that someone used his personal information to open a credit card account and charged about $1,000 to the card. He said he was contacted by a collection company trying to collect the money. He said he was told that the account was opened in September or October, 2015 and that no payments were made. He said that the address on the account was that of his ex-wife. He said they have been divorced since 2010 and he has had no contact with her. He said the collection company would follow up with her and requested a police report.

Wednesday 8/24

2:10 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a man called claiming to be with Ohio Edison stated that the electricity was due to be disconnected because she owed $2,400. She said that he was very believable and gave a phone number to call to make payment. She said she was told that her electricity would be turned off within 24 hours. She said she told the caller that she had already paid her bill and that her electric provider was another company. She said she panicked and bout a $2400 Visa gift card and called the phone number provided and gave the number to the card. She said that the male called back soon after and advised that the payment had been received, but that there were additional charges. She said that is when she realized that it was a scam. The deputy called the number provided and followed several prompts similar to Ohio Edison’s prompts. A male answered and asked for the account number. The deputy gave a false account number and the man said that the bill was $1,500. The deputy asked for the address of Ohio Edison and the man responded with a vulgar comment and hung up.

5:30 p.m. To Amy Dee Lane for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman answered the door and was verbally hostile to the deputies. She was reported to have taken a hammer to her husband’s belongings. The husband was advised that if he needed to move out his items (most of which were broken), he should call for a peace officer. He said that the incident occurred over not being able to make the scheduled couples therapy. He left with family members and a few personal items.

6:20 p.m. To Detrick-Jordan Pike. A man reported that he had taken his vehicle to a repair shop for a diagnosis. He said the shop owner called him back three weeks later and said that the bill was $3,900 for the repairs made. He said he did not give the shop owner permission to make repairs. The shop owner said that the man dropped off his vehicle and then went out of state for a family gathering. He said that he advised the man of the charges and the man approved the work. He said that he was in contact with the man informed of every repair that needed to be completed. Both were advised that this is a civil issue.

7:17 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of an unwanted guest. A woman reported that her stepmother is always being rude and keeps her from talking to her father who has failing health. The woman has had a difficult past with the family, and the family asked that her visits be in public, not on their property. The woman was explained that she can no longer be on the property and must contact her father elsewhere. She seemed to have a hard time understanding the situation and it had to be explained to her several times. She said that her stepmother “has it out for her” and is possibly abusive to her father. The father had no markings on his body indicating abuse.

Thursday 8/25

11:42 a.m. To Orth Dr. for a welfare check. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the subject’s brother-in-law. He said that he was there to clean the apartment, but found it was much worse than expected. He said that there is black mold in the bathroom, the toilet and sink leaks, the stove and dishwasher don’t work and he had to make a path to get around because of all of the stuff in the home. He said the subject was at a doctor’s appointment and should be on his way home. The subject soon arrived and said that he was in a nursing home for 10 months and just got home about a week ago. He allowed the deputy to enter to take pictures. The deputy saw that the kitchen had trash and dishes all over and black mold throughout the bathroom. The deputy explained to the subject that a copy of the report would be forwarded to the Health Department, and that the landlord should be notified to fix the toilet and the sink. He said that he would stay with family members until the bathroom was fixed.

12:47 p.m. To N. Scott St. for a report of found items. A woman reported finding a screwdriver and a needle in her yard. The items were submitted into property.

8:12 p.m. To Bischoff Rd. for a report of shots fired. A man reported that as he was coming up Tillie Lane he saw two males that he had not seen before and thought it odd. He said that about five minutes later he heard 20-25 shots fired. He said one struck a tree in front of his house and one struck his garage. The deputy checked the garage and a shot did penetrate the wall. He was unable to locate the round. The resident on Tillie Lane said that she knows no one who would have done target practice in the area.

9:08 p.m. To S. Main St. A woman reported that her husband was out of town on business for two months. She said that when he returned, he said he wanted to move out and take the kids with him. The husband said that his son wanted to live with him because he was not getting along with his mother and grandmother. All parties were advised that this is a civil issue and that the deputy could not force anyone to leave the home.

10:15 p.m. To Steven Circle for a report of menacing. A woman reported that her daughter’s boyfriend found a dog and had no place to keep it. She said he asked if they would keep it for him and she allowed it. She said that she was looking on Facebook to see if anyone had lost a dog and found someone who had lost a dog similar to the one she was keeping. She said she contacted the man who said that he no longer wanted the dog. The two went to the Auditor’s office to transfer the dog tags to the woman. She said that the boyfriend’s parents soon came to get the dog, claiming that their son owned it since he was the one who found it. She said that they threatened her with bodily harm if they didn’t get the dog. She said she advised them to leave the property. She requested a report in case there are problems in the future.

10:53 p.m. To N. Church St. A woman reported that her husband packed up his belongings and left today. He said that he then started to text her all the time. She said she wants him to leave her alone. She was advised of the process to get a no-contact order.

Friday 8/26

7:29 a.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a bicycle was missing from her home. She said she would call back when she found the serial number.

8:00 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a suspicious couple in a vehicle on the lot. The couple said that they were sleeping in the vehicle overnight. The plates belonged to a Dayton resident, and the vehicle belonged to another individual. The plate was expired and the owner was listed as deceased. The vehicle was towed until ownership could be determined.

8:24 a.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of breaking and entering. A woman reported that someone entered the business and stole several items. She said that she would find serial numbers for the stolen items. There are security cameras, but access to video was not immediately available.

3:04 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a burglary. The deputy arrived to find an irate woman who was walking around and screaming. The deputy asked her to calm down so she could begin her investigation, but the woman continued to yell and scream. She began to kick things and was very disruptive and appeared to be on some kind of drugs. She was forcibly restrained by two deputies and placed in the cruiser where she continued to fight and yell. The woman’s father stated that the woman and her boyfriend were arguing and the boyfriend became upset and pushed his way into the home. He said his wife punched the boyfriend several times. The irate woman was taken to the Clark County Jail and booked on one count of obstructing official business and one count of resisting arrest. The boyfriend was taken to the Clark County Jail and booked on one felony count of aggravated burglary. He said that his girlfriend was on heroin and cocaine.

4:17 p.m. To Rawson Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she came home to find that it was 90° inside the home. She said that her adult son was sleeping on the couch and had turned off the air conditioner because he was cold. She said they started arguing and she told him to get out of the house. The son said he got cold and turned off the air conditioner so he could sleep. He said his mother came in yelling at him and punched him in the neck and told him to get out. He did not wish to press charges, and said that friends were coming to get him to allow the situation to defuse.

4:22 p.m. To Rawson Dr. for a report of possible bullying. A woman reported that her son is being bullied every day at school, on the bus and after school in the neighborhood. The boys’ friends identified the bully and said that he also bullies them. Deputies went to speak with the bully, and his mother said that she was unaware of any problems. The boy said he does not get along with the RP’s son and said that the two were involved in a fight two years ago. She was advised that the school resource officer would be contacting them.

6:13 p.m. To Dille Rd. for a report of a custody dispute. A woman reported that the grandmother of her children will not release them to her until she gives the grandmother her new address. She showed court paperwork giving her custody, and said the grandmother is in contempt for not releasing the children to her. She said that she will not give the grandmother her new address because she would constantly drive by like she did at her previous address. She said the grandmother is holding a grudge because she is dating a black man. She was advised of her options, and was advised that simply driving by the home without provoking an incident or enticing action is not enough for charges.

6:57 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a welfare check. The deputy found the subject to be fine. His wife, who has power of attorney over him, said that he was having an “episode” today and was not feeling well. It was determined that the man’s daughter has been causing issues with the family and had recently been trespassed from the property. The subject said that his daughter posted a picture of him on Facebook when he was in the hospital not doing well. Both the subject and his wife said that they were tired of the division his daughter is causing. They said that they are seeking a protection order against the daughter.

9:05 p.m. To Willowick Dr. to investigate a crash. The driver was assumed to be the elderly owner. Deputies knocked on the door but were unable to get an answer. Permission was given to enter the home and the owner was found lying in bed. He reluctantly gave his information and asked if he was going to jail. The home was found to be in horrible condition. It was in need of trash removal, floor resurfacing and plumbing work. The man said he was proud of his home, but admitted that he needs help with it. He could not remember that he had crashed his vehicle.

Saturday 8/27

6:20 a.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of an unwanted guest. A man reported that a male was tearing up his front porch and he had a gun pointed at him. When the deputy arrived, the man said that the subject had gone behind a bush by his driveway. The area was checked and the subject was located. He had recently been released from the hospital for open heart surgery. He refused transport to the hospital. The RP said he had never seen the subject before.

8:56 a.m. To Brookside Dr. for a report of an abandoned vehicle. The deputy saw a Chevy Impala in disheveled condition and damaged. The owner was contacted and said he ran out of gas and parked the vehicle there. He seemed to be under the influence of drugs and said that he was assaulted by a jealous boyfriend of the girl who was with him. He would not provide any names and did not want an investigation into the matter.

2:08 p.m. To S. Church St. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that her 6-year-old grandson had been hitting her and locked her out of the home. She said she has had custody of him since he was 9 months old. The son said his medication makes him feel funny, so he doesn’t take it. He was advised that he cannot hit people just because he is mad.

11:32 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of an unresponsive male. Medics were already on scene when the deputy arrived and were caring for him. Medics found a rubber glove and an empty clear capsule in his pocket. Inside the glove was a plastic bag with marijuana inside. Medics administered four doses of Narcan to revive the subject. Another male on the scene said he picked up the victim around 11:00, went to Speedway to get beer and food and at Speedway the victim started acting odd and appeared to be highly intoxicated and unstable on his feet. He said that two women in the store had to help him stand, so he went inside to help the victim to his vehicle. Once inside, the victim became unresponsive. The other male was transported to his home.

Friday 8/26

2:37 p.m. Civil dispute reported at Sunshine MHP, 6254 US Route 40. Female reported a male had violated a CPO she had through Greene County.

11:46 p.m. Traffic stop for lane violation in the area of Pisgah Rd and E. State Route 571. Contact was made with driver identified as Martha Noriega and reason for the stop explained. Noriega was only able to produce an identification card. She was issued a citation for no operator’s license and marked lanes. The vehicle was parked on the side of the road and Noriega was transported to her residence.

Saturday 8/27

8:11 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 8100 block of S. State Route 202. After the investigation was complete, Jason Bailey was incarcerated on a domestic violence charge.

Sunday 8/28

8:39 a.m. Suspicious person at Big Mike’s BP, 8561 S. State Route 201. Upon arrival deputy observed a black car Toyota with two males getting into the front seats. As the deputy approached, the driver quickly got back out and went into the store. The passenger remained in the car. The driver then exited the store and sat on the bench out front. The passenger then exited the vehicle and entered the store. Both continued to walk in and out and sit on the bench without getting back in the car. Deputy ran the plates on the car with a return showing the plates were registered on a dark green Cadillac with a June expiration. Deputy approached and one of the males stated they were having car problems and were waiting on a ride. Deputy entered the store to speak with the manager. Manager stated the driver said he didn’t have a license and didn’t want to drive way while the deputy was there. Deputy went back outside to speak with the two males. After nearly 25 minutes of trying to determine who the owner of the car was, they were unable to provide proof that it belonged to a friend. After running the VIN, the rightful owner was determined and a voicemail was left for him. The two males were provided a ride to Park Layne and the vehicle was towed at the request of Big Mike’s.

Monday 8/29

7:43 a.m. Burglary in progress at the A and R Reck MHP, 4220 US Route 40. Deputy was dispatched on the report of several males attempting to break into a mobile home. Contact was made with Marcario Leyua at the door of his trailer. After speaking with him and looking for subject hiding around his trailer, no one was located. What was observed was a small amount of white powder on the counter. When Leyua was questioned he stated it was crystal meth. Two crack pipes and a straw were also located. Leyua was charged with drug possession and possessing drug abuse instruments.

5:19 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 201 and Singer Road. Deputy ran the plates and it was discovered the registered owner, Miranda Blanton, had a warrant out of Montgomery County. The warrant was confirmed and Blanton was taken into custody. A Huber Heights Officer took custody and transported her to the Montgomery County Jail.

Tuesday 8/30

8:11 a.m. Disturbance reported in the 8100 block of Palmer Road. After investigation it was determined that no threats or physical violence took place.

6:09 p.m. Assault reported in the area of Palmer and Bellefontaine Roads. Deputy met with a male who reported he had been assaulted during a road rage incident. Male said he was driving home on US Route 4 when he attempted to pass a slower moving vehicle that was in the left lane. As he passed, the male said the other driver flipped him off and then proceeded to pass him. Both drivers ended up heading in the same direction and at the intersection of Palmer and Bellefontaine Road the other driver got out of his vehicle and walked back towards to male. The male exited his vehicle and said they exchanged some vulgar language back and forth. The male stated at this point the other driver struck him multiple times in the head causing his lip to swell. The male was able to provide the license plate info to the deputy. After running the license plate the deputy was able to locate the other individual at his residence. The second driver was identified as Darrell Lochtefeld and admitted to striking the male. He further stated he felt very bad for doing so. Lochtefeld’s account of the events matched what the male had reported. Lochtefeld was cited for assault and issued a summons to appear in court.

Wednesday 8/31

3:05 p.m. Unruly juvenile reported in the 6300 block of Studebaker Road. Mom reported that 13-year-old daughter was being defiant. Deputy spoke with the female and she was warned for unruly.

8:35 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and Palmer Road. Driver was stopped for failing to possess a working rear license plate light. Subsequently, the driver Richard Webster was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
