Sunday 7/31

10:25 a.m. To Troy Rd. for a report of a custody dispute. A man reported that he was to pick up his children at his ex-wife’s home, but she refused to send the children out. He said he believes that it is because her new boyfriend is there, and he is not allowed to be around the children. He asked that the incident be documented for court purposes.

6:58 p.m. To Gordon Rd. for a 911 hangup. Upon arrival, the deputy was met with the residents who advised that there was an incident. The homeowner said that her daughter-in-law was upset because one of her children cut his hair and that they were involved in an argument. The deputy met the son and daughter-in-law at another location and they advised that they were involved in an argument over taking the daughter-in-law to Springfield. The son wanted his wife to walk to Springfield, the wife wanted the son to go back to his mother’s residence on Gordon Rd. The daughter-in-law became extremely agitated and began to yell and curse. Both parties refused to come to an agreement and continued to argue and yell at each other. The son then requested a supervisor. When the supervisor arrived, he tried to speak with the wife/daughter-in-law, but she continued to be belligerent. She then agreed to allow the supervisor to take her to her home in Springfield. She got the child’s car seat and the deputy saw that it was not in good condition and could not safely secure the child. He advised the deputy to contact children’s services and the wife became upset, began yelling and cursing and swinging the child in the air. She was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. The husband was cited for child safety restraints.

5:58 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of an accident. A man reported that his vehicle was struck while it was parked on the street. The other vehicle then left the scene.

8:01 p.m. A man flagged the deputy down on Lake Ave. near the Speedway station. He said that he pulled into the Speedway station to let his wife out and that there were no parking spaces. He said a man in a truck started yelling at him through his window and began to back up while he was still parked. He said that at that time another parking space opened up and he pulled into it. He said that a man then came out of the truck with a knife and came at him. The driver of the truck said that the RP had come at him with a knife. The RP said that he did not have a knife. Deputies viewed surveillance video, but they could not see any weapons or any movement to suggest that anyone had a weapon.

Monday 8/1

6:13 p.m. To Walsh Dr. for a report of criminal damaging. A woman reported that someone burned a hole in a sprinkler hose. There are no suspects.

10:30 a.m. To Fyffe Dr. A woman reported that her 10-year-old daughter is often left home alone. She said she spoke with her son who said that he was taking his 6-year-old son to work with him. She said she asked him about the girl, and he said he did not know where she would be staying. She asked how old a child must be before the child is left home alone, and she was advised that there is no set age, and that it depends upon the child’s maturity. The deputy spoke with the daughter, and she was confident of her ability to be home alone. She said that she keeps the doors locked, is not allowed to use the stove and described the parents’ house rules and emergency plan. The girl’s mother soon arrived and said that both she and her husband believe that the girl is mature enough to be left at home, and that they have plans in case of an emergency. The deputy checked the residence and it appeared to be in good condition.

8:48 p.m. To Burket Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he was involved in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend. He said she shoved him out of the way to enter a room. He said that he just wanted the incident documented, and agreed to leave the home for the evening to prevent any other incidents.

Tuesday 8/2

12:58 a.m. To Aspen Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her husband was looking for his wallet so he could buy alcohol but couldn’t find it. She said he got mad because she couldn’t tell him where it was and he burned some of her personal items. She said she would not give him the car keys so he left on foot with their dog.

1:52 p.m. To Smith St. A woman reported that she is separated from her husband and that his brother owns her residence. She said that the brother served her husband with an eviction notice. She said that today she was in the shower and heard a noise. She said she went into the kitchen and saw her husband holding her cell phone. She said that she pushed him out of the house and he ran to his vehicle with her phone and said he was going to find out who she was seeing. She said that since their separation, he has been stalking her and that he calls and texts her all the time. She was given information on obtaining a protection order.

3:19 p.m. To S. Tecumseh Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he allowed his sister to move in with him because she had no job and no place to stay. He said that she was recently released from McKinley Hall and has a drug problem. He said she does nothing but sit around the house all day and cause problems. Today he served her with an eviction notice and she got mad. The sister said that when he gave her the eviction notice, he told her to move out or he would kill her. At 5:40 p.m. deputies were again called to the residence and the sister said that her brother keeps making threats that he will kill her. She then changed her story and said that he was taunting her. She was advised about using 911 to make false statements.

3:42 p.m. To W. Washington St. for a report of criminal damaging. A man reported that someone had pushed a window screen as though they were trying to break in. He said that no entry was made and nothing was missing. He asked that the incident be documented.

4:22 p.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his girlfriend were in the process of splitting up. He said that he was in the shower when she came home early and they started arguing. He said he was just trying to get his belongings so he could leave. He said that her father was there and came at him and said he was going to stab the man and shoot him. The girlfriend said the man had thrown a can of pop at her, but she showed no signs of injury. The father said he made the comments after the man pointed a shotgun at him. The man allowed the deputy to search his vehicle for a weapon and the deputy found two large smoking pipes under the driver’s seat. The RP was charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

4:24 p.m. To Tomahawk Trail for a report of an unwanted guest. A woman reported that she and her husband are going through a divorce and she is staying with her son. She said her husband came to the home and began knocking on doors. She said he even tried to open the door with a credit card. She asked that the incident be documented for future court proceedings.

4:53 p.m. To Park Layne Elementary School for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that there was a domestic altercation at his home the previous evening. He said he had left to avoid escalation.

6:51 p.m. To Cliffside Dr. for a report of illegal dumping. A man reported that workers replacing a sidewalk for a neighbor apparently dumped the old concrete in his back yard. The neighbor was unaware that this happened and gave the name of the concrete contractor. He said he returned home today and found that his girlfriend had taken his TV and the box springs from his bed. He was advised that since they resided together, it was a civil issue.

9:51 p.m. Traffic stop in the 300 block of Garfield St. The driver and the passenger were making exaggerated movements as if they were concealing something. The driver said that there was a “bag of weed” in the vehicle. The deputy checked the middle console and found the bag. The driver was ordered into court for one count of possession of drugs and was warned about improper display of plates.s

11:37 p.m. To Brumbaugh Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in a verbal dispute with her husband over their having another child. She said he had been drinking and she wanted him to leave. The husband said he would sleep in his vehicle but would not drive anywhere because he had been drinking. She was advised that deputies could not force him to leave, so she agreed to take their child and stay with a friend.

Wednesday 8/3

6:18 a.m. A Charles Dr. woman called from out of state to report that Huber Heights PD had found her vehicle unoccupied in their jurisdiction. She said she contacted her son at her home who said that the vehicle was there last night. She had no suspects.

8:30 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone had cut a tire on his vehicle. There are no suspects.

9:00 a.m. A woman came to the New Carlisle Substation to turn in a wallet that she found on Deerfield Dr. Attempts to reach the owner were unsuccessful. IT was submitted into property.

9:51 a.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a report of a domestic dispute. A man reported that he and his live-in girlfriend were splitting up. He said that yesterday deputies responded to a domestic call and they agreed to go their separate ways for the day. He said that she entered the home today and was yelling at him, accusing him of having women in the home and then began hitting him in the face. He said that he grabbed a bottle of Febreeze and sprayed her with it to get her away from him. He had injuries consistent with his story. The girlfriend was located and said that she entered the home to talk with him about drugs being used in the home and he sprayed her with something. A witness related a story similar to the RP’s story. The girlfriend was arrested for domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

10:12 a.m. To S. Main St. A CVS employee reported that a man in his mid-20’s tried to return some items without a receipt. He said that this same individual has tried to return tiems in the past. The deputy then went to Rite Aid, and an employee reported that the man tried to return the same items without a receipt.

11:28 a.m. To Osborn Rd. at the county line for a report of an abandoned vehicle. The deputy arrived to find a 1995 silver Lincoln Continental that had been stripped of its plates, tires and rims. Dispatch contacted a family member of the registered owner and learned that the owner got rid of the vehicle a couple of months ago. It was on property owned by the Fairborn water treatment facility, and they said it is not their problem since the vehicle was in Clark county. The vehicle was towed.

3:38 p.m. To Schauer Circle for a report of a fraud. A man reported that someone made unauthorized charges to his credit card, totaling over $400. He has reported it to the card issuer.

3:57 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an irate customer. An employee reported that a female customer came in and was unhappy with the length of time it was taking to assist another customer, so she started being loud and rude. She said she asked the customer to leave several times, but the customer kept getting louder. She said she finally left without incident. She asked that the incident be documented in case there are any further issues with her.

4:55 p.m. To End St. for a report of a scam. A man reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Service. He said the caller told him that he was delinquent on his taxes and that he would be arrested if he did no ttake care of the issue. He said that he did not give them any information. He called the local IRS office and they said that they do not call anyone.

6:30 p.m. A man asked deputies to meet him at Community Market to stand by while he picked up his daughter for visitation. When they arrived, the mother said that the girl did not want to go with her father. The deputy spoke with her and she said she was afraid of her father. She was informed that the deputy could not force her to go.

7:54 p.m. To Sycamore Rd. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that he returned home from work to find a front window open. He said that when he went inside he found that several rooms had been ransacked. He said that four guns were missing. He has possible suspects but cannot be sure. A neighbor who has video cameras pointed at the RP’s home was contacted and video was reviewed. It showed a white Ford F-150 stopped in front of the home, then moved on.

10:03 p.m. To Plumwood Dr. for a report of phone harassment. A man reported receiving calls from a man who is dating his estranged wife and made threats toward him. He does not know how to contact the caller.

Thursday 8/4

7:49 a.m. To Hemlock Way for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone had egged her vehicle and spray painted an inappropriate image on her window. A neighbor came by and said that several other vehicles had been egged and spray painted. No one in the neighborhood saw or heard anything out of the ordinary.

8:39 a.m. Traffic stop on Hocker Dr. at Rt. 235. The deputy could detect the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. One of the occupants had a marijuana cigarette, pipe and grinder. The deputy then searched his backpack and found a lock pick kit. He said his girlfriend’s father is a locksmith and he got the kit from him. He said he uses it in case he gets locked out of apartments that he is working on. He was charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of criminal tools.

9:31 a.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took her prescription medication from her unlocked vehicle overnight. There are no suspects.

2:13 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was listening to music when her boyfriend asked her to turn it down. She said he turned the volume down and she turned it back up. She said she pushed him out of the way, he pushed back and a fight ensued. The boyfriend reported that she has assaulted him in the past, but he did not wish to press charges.

3:31 p.m. To Rt. 4 and Enon Rd. for a report of a motorcycle crash. A man reported that he was stopped at the stop sign on the exit ramp, lost strength in his body and could not hold the weight of the cycle and passenger. He said the cycle fell on top of his leg injuring it. He was transported by squad to Springfield Regional Medical Center.

8:22 p.m. To Philip Dr. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that he returned home to find dirty dishes in the sink, food missing from the fridge, food crumbs in his bed and his TV missing. He identified a possible suspect but did not wish to press charges.

9:49 p.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a custody dispute. A woman reported that her husband, who lives across the street, would not let their son come over to her. She was advised that deputies could not force him to allow the boy to come to her. The deputy spoke with the husband who said that the kids do not wish to see her. He said her boyfriend lives with her and she allows him to discipline his children. The woman reported that she would take care of discipline and was advised to complete paperwork to make her boyfriend a legal guardian.

Friday 8/5

8:36 a.m. A deputy was informed that a gold Buick from Kentucky goes to Brubaker Dr. at about 9:00 a.m. to sell meth. The vehicle was located on Rt. 235, but left the count on Rt. 40. Another deputy saw the vehicle enter the county on Rt. 571 and followed the vehicle to Brubaker Dr. The deputy initiated a traffic stop at Lake and Brubaker for failing to signal a turn. The other deputies involved soon arrived. Three other occupants in the vehicle were asked to step out. The deputy could smell marijuana in the vehicle. One occupant had a bag of meth in her purse. Another occupant had several bags of meth and syringes that had heroin in them. Another occupant was found to have a warrant and was arrested. One occupant was charged with trafficking in meth and possession of meth. Another was charged with permitting drug abuse, possession of meth, no operator’s license and illegal possession of a food stamp card.

12:39 a.m. To Villa Dr. for a report of a violation of a protection order. A man reported that he has a protection order against his wife protecting him and his daughter. He said his wife contacted his daughter on Facebook. One arrest warrant has already been issued against the wife for doing the same thing, was arrested and released. She will be charged with one count of violating the protection order.

5:29 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that he went to his bank to withdraw some money and found that there was nothing in his account. He said his bank told him that there was over $700 withdrawn at an ATM in Georgia. He said that he uses his card regularly at a New Carlisle business and one clerk always asks to see the card and writes the number down. He contacted the corporation headquarters and was informed that employees should never ask to see his card. He reported the incident to his bank and the corporate headquarters. He said the company’s headquarters told him to go back to the store and get the employee’s name and store number. He said that when he went in, the employee was rude and cursed at him. He said he asked to speak with a manager, but the employee would not let him do so. The deputy spoke to the employee who said that the man was very agitated and was in her face yelling at her. She said that he told her she is going to jail. She also said that it is company policy to enter the last four digits of the card when a purchase of $25 is made. The manager confirmed the policy. She said that she has never written down his card number. The manager advised that due to the RP’s aggressive behavior, he would like him permanently trespassed from the property. The matter is still under investigation.

6:23 p.m. To Galewood Dr. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone keyed a vulgar word on his vehicle and scratched is wife’s vehicle with a key. He said that he is new to the area and doesn’t have any enemies. His wife expressed concern about kids next door coming onto their property without permission and suspects them. The deputy spoke with the neighbor who denied that her kids ever go onto the neighbor’s property.

6:42 p.m. To Carpenter Dr. for a report of an overdose. A woman was found unresponsive, not breathing and with no pulse. EMS personnel administer 5 rounds of Narcan and got her breathing again. After another round of Narcan, she started coming around. She said that she was OK and wasn’t going to the hospital. She also said that she had not taken any drugs and went back to sleep. She was transported to Grandview Hospital by Bethel EMS.

Saturday 8/5

4:06 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she had been drinking in Springfield with her boyfriend. She said that there were issues at the bar before, so she left him there. A deputy found the boyfriend on New Carlisle Pike walking home. The girlfriend was called and brought him home. After a while, she called 911 because he took her cell phone. Checking the home, she found her phone and keys were missing. She did not wish to press charges. Deputies searched the area but were unable to find the boyfriend.

7:01 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she had been drinking with her ex-boyfriend and that he refused to leave. She said that when she asked him to leave, he grabbed her right arm causing it to bruise. She said that he had taken her keys and cell phone so she couldn’t call for help. The boyfriend was charged with domestic violence, assault and disrupting a public service and taken to the Clark County Jail.

10:01 a.m. To Prentice Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his wife were arguing over who was taking the kids with them for the day. He said that there were no threats and no acts of violence. The wife said that they are going through a divorce but still live together. The husband said that he would leave to allow things to cool down.

12:54 p.m. To Carman Ave. for a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies were greeted by a man wearing only his underwear. A woman reported that the two are splitting up and that she had a yard sale because they haven’t paid rent in several months and had to move out by August 10. She said that the man was in the front yard in his underwear trying to keep people from stopping at the sale. He was advised that he can walk around in his underwear, but that he should think of others.

Friday 8/5

5:59 p.m. Disorderly conduct in the 6200 block of Pisgah Drive. RP reported a male having a “mental episode” and was causing a problem. The male had left this residence before the deputy’s arrival. After investigating the deputy found no crime had occurred. A BOLO was issued to check the male’s welfare. About an hour after the incident the male was located and was found to be of sound mind and did not want to hurt himself or anybody else.

7:08 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 6200 block of US Route 40. Male and female arguing over car keys. Both said no violence nor threats of violence took place. Both agreed to stay away from each other for the rest of the night.

Saturday 8/6

1:00 p.m. Accident with injury in the 6500 block of US Route 40. Upon investigation it was determined from witness statements and video evidence that a red Pontiac sedan failed to yield the right of way while turning left from Fifth Street onto US Route 60. The Pontiac was struck during its turn by a red Dodge sedan at the intersection.

6:19 p.m. Report of shots fired in the 7700 block of Agenbroad Road. Contact was made with a male who stated he was shooting his firearms behind his home. The deputy looked at the back-stop the male was shooting at and it was found to be in compliance.

Sunday 8/7

7:57 p.m. Civil dispute reported in the 9300 block of S. State Route 202. No further information available.

Monday 8/8

10:12 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 1900 block of Ross Road. Deputy spoke with all involved individuals, which several were intoxicated. It was determined the group of friends were having an argument over unknown issues. All involved were warned for being disorderly. They left with a sober and valid driver.

Tuesday 8/9

2:00 p.m. Domestic not in progress reported in the 4200 block of US Route 40. Deputy met with a male regarding a domestic disturbance that supposedly occurred on Aug 8. The male had a knot under his left eye and claimed a female punched him during an argument. He signed a domestic violence charge and the female would be incarcerated.

10:12 p.m. Disturbance in the 4200 block of US Route 40. While investigating the incident all parties refused to cooperate with the Deputy. A male was incarcerated for failure to reinstate license.

Thursday 8/11

3:10 p.m. Accident with no injury in the area of Ross Road and S. State Route 202. Contact was made with both parties involved. One driver was identified as Travis Earl who was driving under a non-compliance suspension. Earl was issued a citation for assured cleared distance and driving under suspension.
