Sunday 7/24

10:09 a.m. To Brumbaugh Dr. for a peace officer call. A man reported that his ex-girlfriend was refusing him visitation with their son. He said that they have been to court, but he did not have any paperwork with him. He requested that the incident be documented.

10:51 a.m. To E. Lake Ave. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that she was walking to Brubaker Apartments when a male walking the other way shouted vulgarities at her. She said he knocked a can of pop from her hand and hit her three times on her cheek. She wanted to press charges. A suspect matching the description of the assailant was located on N. Adams St. He gave the name Micah Hill, then said that his last name was Bailey, pointing to a tattoo on his arm. He was later identified as Brook Bailey. The victim identified Bailey as the suspect. Bailey struggled with the deputy as the deputy was patting him down for weapons, and a pocket knife was retrieved from his waistband. Bailey would not talk to the deputy, but just stated over and over what sounded like an Arabic chant and called the deputies “white devils.” Bailey was charged with assault, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. He was also found to have a warrant from Montgomery County. On the way to the Clark County Jail, he said he hit the victim because she threw a can at him. He later said that she just “kinda ran into my hand.”

12:49 p.m. To Coachhill Ln. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his girlfriend were arguing because she wanted to be intimate, but he needed to cut the grass. The girlfriend said she wanted him to leave. There were no threats and it never got physical.

Monday 7/25

8:09 a.m. To Island Rd. to investigate a report of criminal damaging. When deputies arrived, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the residence. A male subject stated that he was not the offender. When a deputy went to get photos of the incident, the subject said he was going inside, but another deputy told him to stay still. The subject then said he was going to get a cigarette and moved toward the residence. The deputy grabbed his shirt and reminded him that he was being detained. His girlfriend came out and said that she could clear everything up, but she needed her phone that was in the residence. A deputy accompanied her, and could again smell a strong odor of marijuana. He asked her about the smell and she said that there was a “bong” in her room. Her 3-year-old son was also in the room. Consent for a search was given, and deputies found evidence of a grow operation. Deputies collected grow lights, books on grow operations, seeds, marijuana plants, marijuana and paraphernalia. There was marijuana and paraphernalia within reach of the 3-year-old. Both were charged with possession of marijuana, possession criminal tools and child endangering.

10:00 a.m. To McKees Mill Run. An 18-year-old female reported that she had made a post on Facebook stating “Pregnancy is not a joke.” She said that she was upset by comments made by a male user because she has a 4-month-old son and a friend had just lost a baby. The deputy read through the posts and saw that the male user had made posts like “How to kill a baby,” but did not see anything threatening. She was able to block him from her Facebook account and wanted the incident documented.

12:02 p.m. A man came to the New Carlisle substation to report that his ex-wife used his information to open an account with AT&T. He said that he has received calls from collection agencies. He said that he never requested the service and did not authorize his ex to use his information to receive services from AT&T. She said that last September, she tried to obtain a credit card using his information.

4:33 p.m. A man called to report that someone opened a credit card in his name and charged over $1000 in merchandise. He said that he had put in a job application at the store about a week before the card was issued. He said the store requested a police report.

5:18 p.m. To Portland Ave. A woman reported that a man with outstanding warrants was at her home knocking on the door, yelling and trying to get in. He had active warrants for domestic violence and aggravated menacing. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the subject. The woman was given information on obtaining a protection order.

6:02 p.m. To N. Hampton Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his wife have been under stress and were arguing. He said their son went next door to call the Sheriff’s office. The wife related the same story. Both agreed that there were no threats or acts of violence.

Tuesday 7/26

10:18 a.m. To Klose Ave. for a report of a scam. A man reported that he posted on Facebook that he was selling animals. He said that a male subject from Texas wanted to buy them. He said the subject sent him a check for $1700, advising that $1200 was to go to a man in California. He said he sent the money, then found that the $1700 check had bounced. His bank requested a police report so their fraud department could investigate.

3:10 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A store manager reported noticing that a wireless speaker was missing from the shelves. She did not remember selling it, and asked other employees who also did not sell it. She said she then reviewed surveillance video and saw where a man took the speaker off of the shelf, then went out of camera range. When he came into view again, he did not have the speaker and left the store. The box for the speaker was found elsewhere in the store. She provided a DVD of the incident to deputies.

4:01 p.m. To Narcissus Dr. for a report of menacing. A woman reported that a 20-year-old male was trying to get her 14-year-old grandson to come outside to fight. The male had left before deputies arrived, but she said that he promised that he would return. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate the subject.

7:16 p.m. To Andrews Lane for a report of a disturbance. A woman reported that her husband had crashed his vehicle into a tree in the back yard. She said that he had swung her cane at his mother and struck her in the arm. She said he also pushed her into a wall several times, leaving a bruise on her arm. The husband was transported to Miami Valley hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. He was also charged with two counts of domestic violence, two counts of assault and one count of aggravated menacing.

8:32 p.m. To Steven Circle for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man and woman reported that they were arguing over the man’s purported infidelity. Both agreed to stay in separate areas of the home.

9:58 p.m. To Shepard St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone took his 4-wheeler from the bed of his truck. He said that he does not remember the make or model, but would get that information to the deputy. A woman reported that she was driving around the neighborhood looking for the 4-wheeler and saw a similar one on Slayton St. She said she asked the resident if she could look at it, and the resident got very defensive and belligerent with her. They were advised to stay away from that property.

11:03 p.m. To Galewood Dr. A man reported that he has a protection order against his wife and showed it to the deputies. He showed deputies several texts that he received from her. The deputy checked with Greene County and confirmed that the wife was served with the order at 1:00 p.m. The texts started around 8:00 p.m. Warrants were requested against the wife for violating the protection order.

Wednesday 7/27

4:54 p.m. A man called to report that he and his wife had separated and moved out of their W. Jefferson St. home. He said that she left a cat and four kittens in the residence and only goes back every four or five days to check on them. The wife was contacted and said that she did not take the cat with her because it was in heat. She said that either she or her mother goes by every day to tend to the animals. There were no signs of cruelty present. The wife said that she would take the cats with her to her new residence.

5:25 p.m. To the Park Layne Shopping Center for a peace officer call. A man requested that a deputy accompany him to Caldwell Circle while he picked up his daughter for his court-ordered visitation. The deputy followed him and the deputy contacted the ex-wife. The daughter was hysterically crying on the couch. The ex-wife said that every time the father comes to pick her up, she suffers a panic attack because of some of the things that happen at his home. She said that one time he grabbed her by the throat. She was advised of the process to get the visits re-evaluated, and was also advised that she could be held in contempt of court.

Thursday 7/28

8:29 a.m. To Klose Ave. A woman reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and went through it. She said that nothing was taken.

12:40 p.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of an 8-year-old playing with matches. A man reported that his grandson admitted to his mom that he was playing with matches. He said that last Sunday, he saw the boy urinating in a trash can because that’s where the matches were. He said that the boy is becoming more of an issue and they are concerned for his safety when he comes to visit. The deputy advised him that he would talk to the Fire Department and see if a firefighter could talk to the boy about the dangers of playing with matches.

3:38 p.m. To W. Washington St. for a report of menacing. A man reported that his landlord has been harassing him and his wife since they submitted their 30-day notice that they were moving. He said that last Saturday, the landlord came by while he was at work and she was in the shower. He said that pounded on the door several times, and when she finally came to the door wearing a robe, the landlord said “I will rip that robe off of you and take care of you like I would have 10 years ago.” The wife said this made her very uncomfortable, and after that incident he sat in the driveway for about 45 minutes. He said that today, the landlord’s wife came into the garage and demanded to know his new address. He said he told her that it was none of her business. He said she then sat in the driveway for 30 minutes before leaving.

8:37 p.m. To Cloverdale Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone entered her elderly mother’s room and took money from an envelope. She said $500 was missing from the envelope. She said the only people who come to the home are home health aides.

9:32 p.m. To W. Main St., Medway, for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took her handgun from her closet. She said the only people who have been at her home are her husband and her son. She said that her son has a history of thefts from them and that he has outstanding warrants for domestic violence and aggravated menacing.

Friday 7/29

7:39 a.m. To W. Main St., Medway, for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he was awakened by his son who was outside of the residence yelling. He said that the son was banging on the house and yelling that he wanted his tools back. He said he reminded his son that the son had sold his tools at a pawn shop and that the father had bought them back. He said that his son left, but called and said that “I will get my tools one way or another.”

9:42 a.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone stole the central air conditioning unit from the residence. The deputy saw the concrete pad where the unit sat was bare and the lines to the unit were cut. It did not appear that entry was made to the home.

10:22 a.m. A Gerlaugh Rd. woman asked to meet a deputy at the New Carlisle Fire Dept. for a report of telecommunications harassment. She said that she started talking to a male subject recently. She said that the man’s child’s mother then started a Facebook account under the RP’s name and was sending out threatening messages. She said the mother then texted her and accused her of sending the messages. The deputy contacted the mother who reported that the RP would not leave her alone. She was advised to contact her local police to file a report and was advised to cease all contact with the RP. Before the RP left, she received a text from the mother advising the RP to leave her alone.

2:41 p.m. To Woodglen Ln. for a report of menacing. Two women reported that they were at a restaurant when a former neighbor came in. She said an employee asked the neighbor how she was doing, and the neighbor made comments disparaging to the women. They said the neighbor continued to “run her mouth” about them. One of the women said that she told the neighbor “If you are going to talk about someone, you can at least say it to them.” She said the restaurant staff then asked the two women to leave. They asked that the incident be documented.

3:35 p.m. To Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of an accident. A vehicle westbound on Gerlaugh failed to negotiate the curve, went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.

Saturday 7/30

3:14 a.m. To E. Main St., Donnelsville, for a report of an intoxicated driver. A man reported that he was almost hit head-on by a white pickup truck in Donnelsville. The deputy located the truck parked on E. Main St. The driver said that he was lost and looking for a “beef shop” that had a refrigerated trailer that needed fixed. He said he found the listing on Craigslist. He said it was somewhere on Lake Rd. The deputy advised him that there was Copey’s Butcher Shop on Lake Rd. and the driver said “That’s it!” Dispatch was able to contact Copey’s owner who said that there was nothing wrong with their unit, and that they would not solicit work on Craigslist. The owner of his truck was contacted and said that he was to be using the truck and gave permission to search it. A search yielded a number of tools that one would use to fix a refrigeration unit and all of the tools had the driver’s first name engraved on them, leading the deputy to believe that they were not stolen. The deputy noted that the entire incident seemed strange, since the driver said that the ad wanted the work done between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. The truck’s owner said he wanted the truck parked at the driver’s residence and that it wasn’t to be moved. The owner contacted a friend to pick up the driver and the truck so it wasn’t parked overnight. The driver showed no signs of impairment and was clear of any warrants.

3:40 p.m. A Spence Rd. resident called to report identity fraud. She said that she received a letter alerting her to fraudulent activity with her bank account. The deputy asked what had happened, and she said that her identity protection service did not elaborate, but requested a police report.

7:34 p.m. To Madison St. School for a report of multiple subjects walking around the building. Upon arrival, deputies noticed that a rear door was open. They went inside and found three subjects inside. They all said that they heard rumors that the building was haunted and wanted to check it out. The City Manager was contacted, and he said he wanted to press charges of trespassing, but not for criminal damaging for causing damage to the rear door.

10:02 a.m. To W. National Rd. for a peace officer call. A man requested that a deputy meet him at his childrens’ mother’s home for a custody exchange for his court-ordered visitation. He said that she would most likely say that she is not there or that the kids are not there. The deputy knocked several times and did not get an answer. The man asked that the incident be documented so he can file for contempt of court charges against the mother.

11:35 p.m. To Bowser Dr. for a report of an unwanted guest. Deputies arrived to find Matthew Pizzo screaming and yelling at the deputies. Due to his hostile behavior, he was instructed to kneel on the ground and was detained. The RP said that Pizzo is possibly under the influence of meth and alcohol and that he is not permitted to stay at the residence due to past issues. While speaking with the RP, Pizzo was still yelling very loudly despite being told to stop. He was told that if his behavior continued, he would be arrested for persistent disorderly conduct. He failed to comply and was placed under arrest. When Pizzo was led to the cruiser, he put his feet on the bottom door frame and pushed back toward the deputies. He was forcibly placed in the cruiser and then started kicking the passenger side window. While enroute to the jail, Pizzo was still yelling and cursing and making off-the-wall statements about “people being after him.” Once in his cell, he was placed in a restraint chair to prevent harm to himself from hitting his head on the cell glass.

Tuesday 8/2

00:06 a.m. Disturbance reported in the 4200 block of US Route 40. A refused caller reported a disturbance at one of the lots between a male and female. The male was reportedly pounding on the trailer. Female said the male was helping her move into the trailer and became upset over a comment that was made. The male said he was upset because she would not give him back his phone. The male was warned for further disorderly conduct and could face arrest if he returned and continued his disorderly conduct.

3:54 p.m. Disturbance in the 4200 block of US Route 40. Victim stated her and a female were in an argument over finances. The female had pushed the victim to the ground resulting in a small laceration to an arm and injury to her head from the fall. Squad was called and victim was transported to an area ER. A male witness stated that the female had pushed him as well. Deputy met with victim at the ER and reviewed the domestic violence packet with her. The female admitted to pushing the victim down and screaming at and pushing the male. Jennifer Moreaux was arrested for domestic violence and incarcerated at the downtown jail.

9:24 p.m. Report of an unruly juvenile in the 6800 block of Wonder Way. Parents tried to speak with female juvenile when she was two hours late coming home. Father and daughter began to argue and the father took her phone. She became angry and attempted to take the phone which resulted in the phone breaking. Juvenile then took father’s phone, threw it and broke it. Juvenile left the home and was located at a neighbor’s home. Parents did not wish the juvenile charged but requested deputy speak with her regarding her actions. In order to de-escalate the situation, the juvenile spent the remainder of the evening at the neighbor’s house.

Wednesday 8/3

5:31 p.m. Suspicious men in the 9300 block of Shroyer Drive. Deputy was dispatched on the report of an elderly female let four males enter her home. Arriving at the residence, he found the female’s son on scene as well as a white van with several males sitting inside. The males stated they were with Kirby Cleaners and had been invited into the female’s home. When the son arrived he found the males cleaning the carpet and his mom was fine. The son stated his mom is exhibiting signs of dementia and possible let them in without remembering it. The males completed their service and left the scene without further incident. The son stated nothing appeared to be missing. He was advised the incident would be documented.
