4:00 AM To Beach Dr. After a physical altercation, a driver exited her vehicle to pick up her wallet.  As she did so, the other vehicle involved in the altercation accelerated, striking her causing injury to her elbow and other injuries.

5:24 AM To Carpenter Dr. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that he was at a friend’s home and several people were outside trying to get him to come out and fight. He said that a known male suspect kicked a passenger door and window to his vehicle leaving a large dent in the door. He said he told them that he was not going to fight, but they kept testing his patience. Attempts to locate the male suspect were unsuccessful.

9:55 AM To Scott St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and took the stereo from it. Neither she nor neighbors had seen or heard anything.

10:49 AM To Wendall Ave. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that an unknown female has been harassing her on the phone.  She said the woman accused her of sleeping with the woman’s boyfriend. She did not recognize the woman’s voice. She asked that the incident be documented.

Monday, September 7

4:26 PM To N. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had called her about 20 times today. She said that he has a pending domestic violence case in Miami County in which she was the victim and there is a court order prohibiting him from contacting her. She was referred to the Miami County Prosecutor’s office.

9:04 PM To Galewood Dr. for a report of a domestic dispute. A man reported that he was involved in a dispute with his grandson over a military dogtag that had been taken from the home. He said the grandson’s father had recently passed away and all he had to remember his father by was the dogtag. The grandson’s sister took the dogtag from him, and he became irate and began yelling. He said he wanted his grandson to leave for fear of what he might do. The grandson said that he had nowhere to go, so he slept in a tent in the back yard.

Tuesday, September 8

4:02 PM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. A woman reported that a female subject cashed a check for $1950. The check was discovered to be altered and fictitious.

5:12 PM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he was involved in a physical argument with his mother at a residence on Winchester St. He said he was moving his possessions out of the home when his mother became enraged and threw a fish tank at his vehicle, then shoved him into the mirror, breaking it. He said she then shoved him onto the hood causing injury to his wrist. His girlfriend signed a statement confirming his story. Deputies then went to the Winchester St. residence and spoke to the mother. She asked about the process to have her son evicted. She also admitted to hitting her son, but said that she did not shove him into the car. She was arrested for domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

6:02 PM To Smith St. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that she went into her garage, and something didn’t “feel right.” Then she noticed that the pull-down ladder that leads to the attic was down. No entry was made into the home and there was no forced entry into the garage.

9:13 PM To Sheehan St. for a report of a fight. A woman who was obviously intoxicated, stated that her daughter shoved her into a bathtub, scratched her face and pulled her hair, then left. She said the argument was over language being used in the home in front of the daughter’s child. The daughter returned a short time later and advised that she and her mother were involved in an argument over how her mother spoke to her daughter. She said that her mother scratched her on the face and neck. The mother was advised that she was being arrested for Domestic Violence due to the inconsistencies in the accounts of the altercation. The mother complained of having chest pains and was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center to be checked out, then was transported to the Clark County Jail.

Wednesday, September 9

3:49 PM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a female suspect took items from the store without paying for them. Security video showed the woman putting four items into her purse. She said that she would provide a copy of the video to deputies.

Thursday, September 10

8:07 AM To Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone had used her credit card multiple times without her permission. She said that she had purchased a phone for a client on her credit card, and the company must have kept her credit card information, because more minutes had been purchased several times. A warrant was issued for the client for unauthorized use of a credit card.

4:07 PM To Ruby Dr. A man reported that on August 27 a truck had struck his mailbox damaging it. He said that the driver offered him $40 for the damage, but he said that the mailbox was more expensive than that. He said that the driver told him that he would send him a check for $100. He said the check never arrived. He said that he has tried to contact the driver several times but without luck. The deputy was also unable to contact him.

Friday, September 11

5:01 AM To Greene Memorial Hospital for a report of an assault. A Crystal Lakes woman reported that her boyfriend assaulted her in two separate occasions. She said that on September 7, they were walking back from a friend’s home when they began arguing over a car seat. She said that he grabbed her throat and started pulling her down the street, then covered her mouth and grabbed her neck and pulled her along with him. She said that today he threw her to the ground, slapped her and punched her. Once they arrived home, he threw her to the floor and began banging her head on the floor.

9:49 AM To Winchester St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that overnight someone entered her unlocked vehicle and took her purse. She was advised to cancel her bank cards.

1:10 PM To Rachel Ct. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a friend took three checks and cashed them. The checks totaled about $175. He said that the friend is already under investigation by Dayton PD for forgery.

3:40 PM To Todd Lee Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a woman had contacted him about donating items to her Relay for Life team. He soon discovered that there was no such team, and that she was selling the items and keeping the proceeds.

3:40 PM To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took her cell phone from her apartment. She suspects a friend of her boyfriend. She said that she has tried to contact him but was unsuccessful.

7:40 PM To Vine Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone entered his vehicle and took his wallet containing personal papers, a credit card and $75 in cash. There are no suspects.

9:26 PM To Winchester St. for a report of an unwanted guest. A couple said that their son was at the home trying to take things that did not belong to him. She said that he was arrested in the past for domestic violence and that she did not want him there. She said that in the past he has stolen things to buy drugs. She said that he also threatened to make false allegations to Children’s Services that would make her lose her grandchild. She asked that the incident be documented.

Saturday, September 12

6:40 PM To Scott St. for a report of criminal damaging. A man reported that someone threw a rock through the window of his vehicle. He suspects his ex-girlfriend. A neighbor said she heard a loud noise and saw a gold SUV, but did not see anyone throw anything.

Note: This week’s Roll Call contains incidents without further information. It is important that neighbors know there has been a theft, attempted theft or burglar alarm in their area.

Friday, Sept 11

9:15 AM Theft not in progress reported in the 6600 block of East State Route 571. Over the last couple of weeks RP reports that 100 bales of hay had been removed from his property. The bales were kept in the loft of an open barn. RP advised farm machinery is parked in front of the structure so the bales had to be moved by hand.

Sunday, Sept 13

12:16 PM Neighbor complaint in the 7700 block of Singer Road. Neighbors were arguing over a tire being put on one another’s property. One party was warned to not trespass onto the other’s property.

4:18 PM h Burglar alarm in the 5200 block of Studebaker Road. No other information available.

5:40 PM Domestic disturbance in the 7500 block of Newbury Road. Male called dispatch and wanted it documented that he had an altercation with his mother. He advised they got into an argument over what he was wearing to the store. He alleged that his mother slapped him and he then spit on her. He also stated his stepdad grabbed him. Mother agreed they had gotten into an argument over the clothes he planned to wear to the store. She stated he spit in her face but denied slapping him. Neither party wished to pursue charges. It was suggested the one of them leave the residence for the evening. The son decided to leave and was transported to a location so a friend would pick him up.

Monday, Sept 14

3:41 PM Civil dispute in the 6500 block of Scarff Road. RP hired a person for a roofing project. RP paid $950 on the first day of the work. The contract agreed upon amount was $2425. The hired person has not returned since the first day and the RP has not been able to contact him. RP was advised this was a civil matter and he should contact an attorney about pursing a civil suit.

Tuesday, Sept 15

5:25 PM Theft not in progress in the 9100 block of South State Route 571. No further information available.

9:21 PM h Disturbance reported in the 8100 block of South State Route 202. Deputy responded the residence on the report of the RP’s husband being verbal with her. She further stated he put cheese sauce on her. RP then put garlic sauce on him. Arriving at the residence the Deputy attempted to contact the RP. Not able to do so, Deputy asked Dispatch to call the her. The RP eventually walked out the rear door and advised she was fine and no violence occurred. RP did not wish to talk to the deputy and stated he could leave.

Wednesday, Sept 16

2:42 PM Burglar alarm in the 4200 block of Gibson Drive.

11:26 PM Domestic disturbance reported in the 7400 block of South State Route 202. RP called dispatch because her boyfriend was intoxicated and yelling. RP stated there was nothing physical, she just wanted him to go to sleep. After speaking with both parties they agreed to go to bed in separate rooms for the night.
