7:38 p.m.  To Lundgren Rd. A man reported that the rear door of a vacant home was open. Deputies found that the doorknob was broken off and there were pry marks around the door. No one was inside. The building was secured as best as possible and the property owners were contacted.

Friday, May 27

9:41 a.m.  To Michelle Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a generator, that was left at a work site overnight, has been stolen. She said that neighbors reported seeing a black Chevy S10 stopped and looked at the generator. The vehicle has been seen in the area before and might be a resident.

Saturday, May 28

12:36 a.m.  While stationary at Dillie Rd. and Rt. 235, a deputy saw a vehicle driven by a man that the deputy had cited for driving under suspension earlier in the evening. He initiated a traffic stop. The driver exited the vehicle and was unsteady on his feet. He also had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. He said he had a bag of marijuana in the vehicle. He failed field sobriety tests and was charged with OVI, driving under a habitual OVI suspension, no operator’s license, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. On the way to the jail, he said that he had consumed five beers and two shots but was not drunk. He said he was a “30-40 beers a day kinda guy.”

9:09 p.m.  Traffic stop on Rt. 40 at Harrison St. in Donnelsville. The driver did not smell of alcohol, but spoke with slow, slurred speech, was very uncoordinated and easily confused. She was sweating and had track marks on both hands and fresh puncture marks on her hands. She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI and charged with no operator’s license, driving under suspension and marked lanes.

11:15 p.m.  To Winnona Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he returned home from work and his live-in girlfriend told him about his daughter “freaking out” while swimming today. He said the girlfriend was distant and would not tell more about it. He said he was trying to learn more, and the girlfriend pushed him to the ground causing injury to his head and right elbow. The girlfriend said that her boyfriend is “always trying to ruin my life” by taking their children and keeping her from seeing them. The girlfriend was charged with domestic violence and assault. She said that she wanted the children to go with her mother, not the boyfriend. The mother was quite upset that the boyfriend was allowed to stay at her residence, and she was advised that he had established residency there and that they could not force him to leave.

Sunday, May 29

2:06 a.m.  To Security Bank in Medway. A man had called to report that a debit card was in the ATM machine. The deputy arrived to find the card. Attempts to reach the owner were unsuccessful. The card was placed into property.

5:08 p.m.  To Medway Dr. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone had shot at her house, but did not believe that it was intentional. The deputy visited a neighbor and asked if they had been target shooting lately. The neighbor advised that he was shooting a pellet gun and didn’t realize that the pellets were going through the target until he moved it. He was advised of the damage done to the neighbor’s home, and he said he would pay for the damages. His contact information was forwarded to the RP.

9:10 p.m.  To N. Main St. for a report of theft. A store manager said that surveillance video showed a man taking clothes from the store. She said that she did not recognize the subject, but would bur the video to a CD for deputies.

10:21 p.m.  To Frayne Dr. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone damaged his vehicle. He said it appeared that someone punched the hood in two different areas. He said yesterday he heard a loud noise like someone was punching a trash can but did no think much of it at the time. He requested a report for his insurance company.

Monday, May 30

8:07 a.m.  To Lancer St. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone broke the drivers side mirror of his vehicle while it was parked in the street in front of his home. There are no suspects.

10:29 a.m.  To N. Main St. for a report of found property. A woman reported that she found several .22 short rounds outside the store. The rounds were submitted into property.

11:01 a.m.  To Orth Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he heard his front door open, then close. He said he got up to see who it was and saw a friend walking down the street. He said he asked the friend if he was in the home and the friend said that he came to talk with the man about purchasing tires for his uncle. He said that later he discovered that his wallet containing $1000 in cash was missing. Also missing was 3-4 grams of marijuana. The friend was located on W. Washington St. Beside the friend was a baggie with 20 small green pills inside and the friend immediately said “Them aren’t mine.” He had $502 in cash that he asked his girlfriend to hold for him while he spoke with deputies. He was advised of the theft report and said that he was at the RP’s home. He said he went inside, realized that the RP wasn’t up yet and left. The friend said that the pills were prescribed for him, but the prescription was at his girlfriend’s home in Kentucky. He was advised to provide a copy of the prescription by Wednesday.

12:35 p.m.  To Western Dr. A man reported that his daughter became upset with his girlfriend and words were exchanged. He said his daughter uses drugs and comes and goes at all hours. He said he wanted her out of the home. The daughter agreed to leave.

4:25 p.m.  To W. Washington St. A woman reported that her boyfriend was threatening to break her vehicle windows. The boyfriend said he just wanted his money and cell phone. He said the argument began because she was upset that he was using drugs again. The woman gave her boyfriend his cash and cell phone and he left. The property owner said that he is not welcome at her home any more.

7:46 p.m.  To Fenwick Dr. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone damaged the driver’s side mirror of her vehicle. She said that there was a group of teenagers walking down her street around 1:00 a.m., ad that they may have caused the damage.

11:09 p.m.  To Elm Rd. for a report of theft. A man reported that sometime since yesterday, his son’s dirt bike was stolen. There are no witnesses or suspects.

Tuesday, May 31

6:47 a.m.  To Weinland St. for a report of a suspicious person. The deputy arrived to find a male subject that he knew on the porch. The subject is a heavy drug user and appeared to be disoriented and confused. He said that he was there to do body work on a vehicle. Bethel Twp EMS was called, and they took him to Springfield Regional Hospital for evaluation.

7:51 a.m.  To Frayne Dr. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone broke the mirror off of his work truck. He said he found a large rock in the street that might have caused the damage. There are no suspects.

3:09 p.m.  To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a man and a woman came into the store and the woman took four pair of headphones, put them in her purse and left without paying for them. She played surveillance video and the deputy recognized the man. He went to the man’s home and the man gave a name of the woman in the video, but did not know where she lived.

7:21 p.m.  To Lundgren Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that she had a friend make repairs to her vehicle. She said that when she got it back, she found that the catalytic converter had been removed and another piece of pipe was in its place. She said she questioned the friend about the missing part and he said that the catalytic converters to several other vehicles were missing.

8:12 p.m.  To Edgebrook Dr. for a report of a suspicious vehicle. A woman reported that a white GMC had been parked in front of her residence all day. She said that this morning it pulled up and two white males exited the vehicle and asked her if she was interested in buying headphones for five dollars. She said no, and the subjects walked westbound on Lake Ave. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and he said that the vehicle was supposed to be at his business on W. National Rd. and didn’t know how it got to New Carlisle. There was a bookbag in the vehicle that did not belong to him. It had a Tecumseh transportation tag with the name Chandler on it, and a black cell phone was also inside. The owner said he spoke with his son, and his son gave the names of two possible suspects. Attempts to reach the son were unsuccessful.

Wednesday, June 1

8:54 a.m.  To Lower Valley Pike. A man reported that someone tried to enter his business and tried to steal one of his vehicles. He said that a door handle to his building had been broken off and the ignition to a vehicle had been tampered with. He said the suspect was unsuccessful at both attempts. A syringe and a name tag were also found outside of the building. Both were submitted into property.

11:35 a.m.  To Galewood Dr. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that her boyfriend came to her friend’s home and forced entry, cursed at her and smacked her on the left side of her face. She had no visible injuries and refused to cooperate with charges. The homeowner said that he wanted to press charges of burglary. A warrant was issued against the boyfriend for aggravated burglary, domestic violence and assault.

10:16 p.m.  To Brubaker Dr. A woman reported that her husband got mad when her mother said that she was taking the woman to a job interview and not taking the husband to a doctor’s appointment. She said she left with their children and he refused to let them back into the residence. Attempts to reach the husband were not successful.

12:28 p.m.  To Funston Ave. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that she and her husband were arguing over general life problems, but that there were no threats or acts of violence. No charges were filed.

12:44 p.m.  To Edgewick Dr. for a report of a scam. A woman reported that her mother received a call from a man who claimed to be an attorney representing her grandson who was incarcerated and needed to be bailed out of jail. She said that the man advised her to purchase 6-$500 Amazon cards from Kroger’s and to call back when the cards were purchased. She said she advised her mother that it was a scam and no cash or information was given to the caller.

10:14 p.m.  To Fyffe Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and her husband were arguing. She said that there were no threats or acts of violence and that she just wanted him to leave. The husband said that his wife and her mother constantly text him to try to “get him going.” He said they sent him texts stating that they were going to sell his stuff, so he came to pick up his possessions. He was advised to call for a peace officer the next time he goes to the residence.

Thursday, June 2

3:54 p.m.  To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of damage to a test driven vehicle. A man reported that a woman test drove a 2007 Chrysler and he did not have a chance to inspect it when she returned because the lot was busy. He said that when he inspected it, he found the hood was damaged as if it had flown open while being driven. He said he called the woman who drove it and she said that the hood flew up while she was driving, but that it was the fault of the business for not securing the hood.

4:36 p.m.  To the 200 block of S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver southbound on Dayton-Lakeview went off of the roadway, struck a mailbox, then left the scene. He was stopped later and arrested for OVI and cited for failure to control and hit-skip.

9:19 p.m.  To Schiller Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was concerned for her boyfriend’s welfare. She said he was highly intoxicated and under the influence of marijuana. The deputy visited the boyfriend, and he kept putting his hands in his pocket. He was patted down for deputy safety and a hard plastic item was in his pocket. He said it was antacids. He took it out and it contained green vegetable matter. He said it was “pot.” He also had a glass pipe in his pocket. He said that he and his girlfriend were arguing and that he grabbed her around the neck and pushed her. He said he was diabetic and needed to check his sugar. He was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence, assault, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. The drugs were submitted into evidence and the boyfriend was transported to the Clark County Jail without incident.

9:47 p.m.  To Croskey Blvd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that his daughter and his wife were arguing and shoved each other. There are no injuries. The daughter agreed to stay elsewhere for the night.

Friday, June 3

4:56 p.m.  To South Dr. for a report of a found item. A woman reported finding a fire extinguisher at the end of her driveway. Bethel Twp. Fire was contacted and it did not belong to them. It was submitted into property.

7:45 p.m.  To W. National Rd. A woman reported that her stepson was killed last year in a crash on Rt 40 at the Clark/Miami County line. She said that the stepson’s mother put up a cross in cement at the crash site. She said she just found out that ODOT owns the location of the cross and wants it moved. She said that a Miami County deputy told the mother that it was illegal to put up the cross, but she did so anyway. She said she told the mother what the deputy said, and the mother said that she didn’t care and would put it up anyway. She said that she was taking the cross down and wanted a report on file in case the mother returns to do something again.

8:00 p.m.  Traffic stop on Main at Washington St. The driver said she thought she was stopped for speed, but the deputy informed her that she was stopped for a lane violation. She said she is uncoordinated and swerves when she drives. The deputy saw two pill bottles, one empty and one with pills in it. She said they belonged to her daughter. She had bloodshot eyes and was in constant motion. The drug dog was called and he alerted to the vehicle. It was searched, and meth, Xanax, Tramadol, Flexerail and other medications were located. She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI and cited for marked lanes, three misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs and one felony count of possession of drugs.

11:00 p.m.  Traffic stop on Woodbury Rd. The driver was charged with possession of drugs.

11:30 p.m.  Traffic stop on S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. The driver had extremely bloodshot eyes and his speech was slurred. The driver claimed to be a Kettering Police officer. While patting him down, the deputy detected an odor of alcohol coming from him. His license was suspended and he had an outstanding warrant. The driver then stated that his leg was injured and that he was not a police officer. He said he had consumed two beers about an hour ago and had taken a Xanax for his leg pain. He said the Xanax was not prescribed to him and that he gets them from friends. He failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for OVI. A search of his vehicle yielded several open cans of beer, a cooler full of beer and an open case of beer. There were also five children in the vehicle. He refused a breath test and a urine test. He was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, no operator’s license, open container and five counts of child endangering. He was also arrested on the warrant.

Saturday, June 4

7:04 a.m.  A man reported finding a wallet on Rt 40 at New Carlisle Pike. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful. The wallet was submitted to property.

8:58 p.m.  Traffic stop on Styer Dr. Approaching the vehicle, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana. He asked the passenger if there were any drugs in the vehicle and she said that there was a small amount of marijuana in the passenger door. The marijuana and a pipe were located and she was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was cited for a stop sign violation.
