Sunday 5/8

9:28 a.m. To Hartley Ave. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that someone tried to break into her home through the rear door. The frame and hinges were damaged and the door would not open.

10:18 a.m. To Bookwalter Ave. A man reported that he allowed a male subject to use his vehicle. In return, the subject was supposed to paint it. He said that when he contacts the subject, they argue, and the subject won’t give a time frame when the vehicle would be completed. The deputy contacted the subject, who said that the vehicle would be returned on Tuesday. He was advised that if he does not return it by Tuesday, he could be charged with unauthorized use. The next day, the vehicle was located at Bayberry and Plumwood. The RP said that the vehicle was damaged. He said the front grill was damaged and the back bumper, radio and two speakers were stolen.

11:25 a.m. To Rosewood Rd. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he and his son were arguing over the son wanting to put up a mirror, and that the son attacked him. He said the son struck him several times with his fist and when he fell to the ground, the son kicked him. He had visible injuries to his nose, eye and ribs. He said he believes his son is using drugs and is becoming more and more violent. Warrants were issued for the son for domestic violence and assault. 12:56 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he and his girlfriend were arguing over his wanting to move out. He said she picked up a ceramic ash tray and threw it at him. He did not have any visible injuries, but he said his leg was hurting him. Two witnesses confirmed his story. The girlfriend was charged with domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

8:57 p.m. To Aspen Rd. for a report of a possible domestic disturbance. A man reported being involved in an argument with his wife. During the argument, he said he took his work keys from her and somehow caused injury to her hand. Both parties were very intoxicated. The wife said that while she was reaching into her purse for the keys, he grabbed them away from her. She said that they have been arguing all day over her health and their living conditions, and that he grabbed her hair and tried to burn it. The husband was informed that he was being charged with domestic violence and assault. He did not seem to understand that they were criminal charges, even though it was not intentional.

Monday 5/9

10:05 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a male subject throwing beer bottles on the ground. The deputy located the vehicle and a man reported that he and his girlfriend were involved in a verbal dispute. He said he came to Speedway to buy some beer, then parked in a nearby lot to drink it. He said that he called his mother to pick him up because he was too intoxicated to drive.

Tuesday 5/10

11:00 a.m. To Zimmerman St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone used his debit card without his permission. He said that there were charges made in Pennsylvania and Quaker City, Ohio totaling nearly $350. He said he has contacted his bank and they requested a police report. He said he doesn’t know how anyone got his card number.

12:30 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a found item. A man reported finding a capsule in the store. It was dark brown and appeared to be some type of herbal supplement. The capsule was submitted into property to be destroyed.

2:14 p.m. To Kendig Rd. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that a Tennessee company sent him a swipe machine for credit cards. He said he never ordered the machine. The price for the machine was nearly $3000. He said that there were three accounts opened using his information. His bank requested a police report.

2:39 p.m. To S. Dayton Lakeview Rd. at Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver was southbound on Dayton-Lakeview and struck another vehicle, causing it to strike a third. He was charged with speed.

Wednesday 5/11

8:21 a.m. To Tulip Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that sometime this morning, someone stole a utility trailer from his driveway. The suspects had moved the trailer around another vehicle and pushed it to the roadway. There were tire tracks in the grass. A nearby home was found to have security cameras, but no one answered the door.

10:12 a.m. To Woodbury Rd. A man asked that a deputy be present when he confronted his sister because he had heard that she opened credit cards in his name. He appeared to be intoxicated and said that he was homeless. He was advised to confirm that the cards were issued, then call back.

10:14 a.m. To Oaklawn Ave. A woman reported that her soon-to-be-ex-husband arrived at her home and began banging on doors and windows trying to deter any activity she and her friend may be doing. She said that her husband is still on the lease but has relinquished all keys and personal items. She wanted the incident documented.

5:47 p.m. To Troy Rd. for a report of menacing. A woman reported that a neighbor was making threats toward her husband. The husband said that the neighbor complained that his dog went onto her property and killed a chicken. He said that the neighbor also made threats of bodily harm. He said that the neighbor’s wildlife comes into his yard all the time and when they do, his dog kills the chickens. The deputy spoke with the neighbor and she said that the man’s dog comes onto her property all the time and kills chickens. She showed a picture but it showed the dog on the man’s property eating a chicken. She said that she called the Humane Society, but they only cited him for not having the dog licensed.

8:13 p.m. To Aspen Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a male friend took $50 out of her purse. She said she allowed the friend to stay at her residence because he has a drug problem and she has been trying to help him out. She said that he was the only other person in the residence when the money was taken.

8:24 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that the temporary tag had been taken from his vehicle.

9:28 p.m.  A Philp Dr. woman called 911 because she had an apple lodged in her throat. She put a friend on the phone and the friend was asked if she knew how to do the Heimlich maneuver. She said she knew how, but couldn’t perform it because she had thrown her back out. Dispatch then heard the caller tell the friend that she had pain pills that the friend could have. EMS soon arrived and transported the caller to UVMC in Huber. A deputy was assigned to follow up with the caller regarding the possibility that she is passing out her pain pills.

Thursday 5/12

2:00 a.m. To Lower Valley at Gerlaugh for a report of an accident. A vehicle southbound on Gerlaugh ran through the intersection striking a street sign, then returned to Lower Valley heading west. It was later found at a residence on Lower Valley. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was charged with failure to control.

4:51 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a possible fight in the street. A man reported that he was southbound on Orth when a male subject backed out of his driveway. He said the suspect was trying to get him to strike his vehicle. He said that they both got out of their vehicles and started yelling at each other. The male subject then came out of his home and started yelling that they are nothing but drug dealers and he was tired of heroin being sold on his street. He said that the RP had just completed a drug deal down the street and was traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy asked the RP if he was selling drugs, but he said that he was collecting for a vehicle that he had sold. There was over $2000 in the console of his vehicle. The RP said he flips cars for a living and had sold a couple today. There was no sign of drugs in the vehicle and the cash was returned to him.

8:07 p.m. To Orth Dr. A man reported that he was mowing his lawn when he heard a noise. He shut off the lawn mower and heard a vehicle engine running. He said he went to the side of the house and saw a vehicle in his yard. The driver said “you called the cops on me earlier. Bring it out in the street and we will settle it.” He said he told the driver to move on. A neighbor reported that the driver came close to hitting his house. Both were advised to contact their landlord to have the driver trespassed from the property.

Friday 5/13

5:44 a.m. To Dollar General for a report of breaking and entering. A man reported that when he arrived for work he found part of the front door glass smashed. He said that he reviewed surveillance video and it showed a male wearing a black and grey hoodie, red hat, blue jeans, red tennis shoes and gloves outside the door. The man threw a piece of log at the door smashing the window. He made entry and began to kick the glass panel where the cigarettes were located. He then ran back to the door but decided to jump the counter and try the cigarette case again. He then left. He said that nothing else in the store was disturbed. A copy of the video was burned to DVD and submitted into evidence.

6:00 p.m. To N. Hampton Rd. for a littering complaint. A man reported that his neighbor had put trash several feet across the property line onto his property. The neighbor advised that he would move the trash back into his yard.

6:34 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of an abducted child. A woman reported that her child’s father took the child and could be heading to Medway. She said that the father was mad at her for drinking and that they had been arguing for an hour. The deputy called the father and he said that he was at his mother’s home in Medway and that he had to take the child because the mother was intoxicated and belligerent. The deputy went to the home and the daughter was OK. He said that they had been arguing for over an hour and that the mother wanted to go shopping. He said a friend blocked the driveway so she could not leave with the child while she was intoxicated.

8:08 p.m. A man flagged a deputy down on Woodglen Ln. to report a dog being aggressive with his daughter. He said that he heard his daughter scream and saw the dog chasing her. He said he went to save his daughter and the dog showed his teeth to him. He said that the dog runs at large all the time and that he would have to “kill the dog” if it came at him in an aggressive manner again. The deputy spoke with the owner and she knew that the dog is aggressive. She said that she never lets it run loose and that it was aggressive today because kids were punching it.

8:32 p.m. To Lammes Lane. A woman reported that her cat was run over and tha tit cost her nearly $1400 in vet bills. There were marks on the road that indicated a vehicle attempted to brake but still slid through the yard. It did not appear to be intentional. The woman does not know who caused this, but a neighbor said she saw the last seconds of the loss of control and said that it was a white car.

Saturday 5/14

12:03 p.m. Traffic stop on St. Rt. 4 at Lower Valley Pike for a trailer with no license plate. The driver said he had just bought the trailer. The deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and both occupants had outstanding warrant. The vehicle was searched and marijuana was found. One occupant was taken to jail for his warrants. The other was taken to jail on his warrants and was cited for driving under suspension, possession of drugs and open container. There was no VIN on the trailer, so ownership could not be determined. The trailer was towed until ownership could be determined.

3:44 p.m. To Cory St. for a report of a suspicious individual. A man reported that his daughter came into the house stating that there was a strange guy outside walking behind a truck that was pulling in and out of driveways in the area. He said he went outside and heard a scraping noise. He said he looked in the alley and saw a white U-Haul truck pulling a trailer by its safety chains causing the trailer to drag on the pavement. He said he followed the truck because he thought they were stealing a trailer that belongs to his neighbor. He said he followed the truck through side streets throughout town, and that he believed the driver realized that he was following him because the driver of the truck began driving erratically and was running stop signs. He said that as the truck was west on Jefferson St. at Henry St. a man flagged the truck down and got in. The truck then turned onto Cory St. He said that when he turned onto Cory St., the truck was coming at him. He said the truck then went down Ohio St. and parked in a parking lot. He said the truck then turned around and was coming at him. He said he thought the truck was going to hit him, so he turned down Madison St. and the truck was following him as if to rear-end him. He said the truck then turned on Henry St. and he stopped following it for safety reasons. He then returned to Cory St. to await a deputy. Two other witnesses reported seeing the truck on Cory St. and a male and female got out and were arguing. The man yelled “What are you doing? This is a dead end street.” The witnesses said that they then unhitched the trailer and left. The identity and whereabouts of the truck and the subjects are unknown.

5:06 p.m. To Bischoff Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported receiving a call from the “IRS” advising him that he needed to pay them nearly $2000 or he would be arrested within 30 minutes. He said he was instructed to stay on the phone while he drove and got iTunes cards. He said he went to CVS in New Carlisle and purchased four iTunes cards for $500 each and gave the caller the codes. He said that his sister thought it was a scam and contacted his credit card company. They cancelled the transaction. He was advised to contact the Attorney General’s office and make them aware of the incident.

6:15 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that the expiration sticker on her license plate was removed and her front plate was stolen.

Bethel Township

Sunday 5/15

8:49 a.m. Theft not in progress reported in the 9700 block of Julie Court. Mail had been stolen from a business mailbox. Video surveillance showed a black four door sedan, possibly a Pontiac G6 or newer model Honda pull up to the mailbox and pry it open. Owners were advised to contact their local postmaster and provided the number to contact the postal inspector and report this incident.

9:26 a.m. Telecommunications harassment in the 4300 block of US Route 40. Female reported a male called her the night before and was extremely rude. Female is concerned the calls will continue and the male might stop by her residence. The male was contacted and agreed to have no further contact with the female. Both parties were instructed and agreed to not contact one another, Both were made aware of possible consequences if they did.

1:32 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 7500 block of Staley Road. RPs stated a family member came over and started the disturbance. The family member wanted more money from the RPs and became angry when this request was denied. RPs stated the family member had not become physical with them and did not want to pursue charges. They did want this incident documented.

Tuesday 5/17

9:59 a.m. Neighbor complaint in the 6800 block of US Route 40.

12:10 p.m. Responded to Tecumseh Middle School for a child abuse complaint that occurred in the 8700 block of Bellefontaine Road.
