Sunday 3/27

2:09 a.m. To DaleRidge Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she told her boyfriend that she was moving into a women’s shelter to help with her drug addiction. She said that he became upset and threw things at her. The boyfriend said that they argued over cigarettes that she had stolen from him. He said that he told her that she was free to leave and denied throwing anything at her.
1:40 p.m. To Quick Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a vehicle had been stolen from his yard. He said the vehicle was unlocked and unlicensed, but that no keys were in it. He said that he is two months behind on payments, but did not think it was taken by the bank.
9:14 p.m. To Edgewick Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took lawn ornaments from her yard. There are no suspects.
10:37 p.m. A deputy saw a vehicle pull out of Security Bank onto Styer Dr., then pull back into the lot and turn its lights off. Since all of the businesses were closed, he approached the vehicle. The driver said he came to pick up a friend. His license was suspended. The driver would not allow a search, so the K9 was called. The dog alerted to the vehicle and it was searched. Several baggies were located, and they showed signs of drug use. Another baggie containing marijuana was also located. He was charged for possession of marijuana and cited for driving under suspension and expired plates.

Monday 3/28

12:22 a.m. To Orth Dr. A woman reported that her granddaughter called and asked to be picked up at her mother’s home in Dayton because her mother was intoxicated and being abusive. She said that when she arrived, the mother became violent and was pushing people around. She said that a neighbor witnessed the events and called Dayton Police.
2:56 p.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took a lawn ornament from her yard. Neither she nor any neighbors saw anything out of the ordinary. She requested extra patrols of the area.
3:00 p.m. To Cedar Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that when she awoke, her vehicle was gone. She said that she had texted her son and discovered that he had taken the vehicle. She told him to return it, and he replied asking her not to call law enforcement because he would be returning soon. He still had not returned the vehicle. Around 6:20 p.m., the son was located sleeping in the vehicle. Ohio State Patrol found several pills, green vegetable matter and caps filled with power on the son’s person. He said that his mom allowed him to use the vehicle. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and drug abuse charges are pending lab results.
10:46 p.m. To Prentice Dr. for a report of a possible heroin overdose. The deputy arrived to find a male victim lying on the floor, unresponsive. A female witness said that the victim had taken an unknown drug and then passed out. She believed the drug to be either meth or heroin. The man was given one dose of Narcan and he became responsive. He denied using any drug. He was transported to SOIN Medical Center by New Carlisle Medics.

Tuesday 3/29

8:38 a.m. To W. Washington St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that she had a note on her door to contact the Sheriff’s office regarding a theft. She said that neighbors saw a white male driving a gold colored van driving around her home. She said the neighbors saw a black female get out of the van, take a roto-tiller from the woman’s yard and put it in the van.
8:57 a.m. To N. Hampton Rd. for a report of a private property crash. A man reported that he and his wife are going through a contested divorce. He said that she is upset about the divorce and believes that she intentionally drove his vehicle into a tree in his yard. He asked that the incident be documented.
11:22 a.m. To Lake Ave. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that over a month ago, a decorative light was stolen from her yard. She said that this morning, a table was taken from her yard. There are no suspects. She requested an extra patrol.
4:34 p.m. To Kennison Ave. for a report of a theft. A man reported that about two weeks ago, he received a call from a collection agency stating that he owed money on two credit cards. He said that he did not request the cards. The total of the charges was nearly $1200. He said that after talking with the credit card companies, he learned that his ex-girlfriend had opened the accounts in his name. He said that he has not confronted her about these accounts yet. He requested a report for the credit card companies.
5:24 p.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her cast iron patio set was stolen off of her porch. There are no suspects.
6:10 p.m. To W. Washington St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he was just released from the Clark County Jail. He said he returned home to find his Ipad and cell phone had been taken from his bedroom drawer. He said he used a program to locate his phone and it showed that the phone was in Fairborn. He said he does not know anyone from Fairborn, but that there are always people coming to his home.
7:23 p.m. To Galewood Dr. for a report of a neighbor dispute. A woman reported that her neighbor owes her money for the fence that their dog destroyed. She was advised that this is a civil matter. The deputy went to visit the neighbor and detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from the home. She said that her boyfriend was smoking it. The boyfriend was located and admitted to smoking marijuana on a regular basis. He said that he does not smoke it while the children are in the home. The children said that they had been home all day. A report was sent to Children’s Services.
8:31 p.m. To N. Main St. A man reported that he had bought two cell phones for his girlfriend at the time, but they have since ended their relationship. He said that she refuses to return them. He said that he had spoken to a deputy last Saturday and was advised that this is a civil issue, but he wanted the incident documented. He asked if the deputy could act as a peace officer while he tried to retrieve the phones, and was advised that the deputy could be present, but could not make the girlfriend return the phones. No one was home, but the deputy did talk to the girlfriend on the phone. She said that the man gave her the phones and that she is going to keep them.

Wednesday 3/30

12:22 a.m. To Bookwalter Ave. for a report of a drug overdose. The deputy arrived to find a male victim on the floor, unresponsive. The RP was performing CPR on the victim. The victim’s brother said that the victim had recently been released from rehabilitation for heroin use and was staying with him. Bethel Twp. EMS arrived at the same time as the deputy and administered 6 mg of Narcan and the victim became responsive. He admitted to using half a capsule of heroin. He was transported to Huber Heights ER for treatment, and was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and drug abuse.
8:20 a.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man said that his wife woke him up yelling at him to move out. The wife said that they had been arguing and that her husband threatened to kill her. She filled out a probable cause statement and the husband was arrested for domestic violence and taken to jail.

Thursday 3/31

2:25 p.m. To Slayton St. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone keyed her vehicle over the past two days while it was parked in her driveway. She suspects her ex-boyfriend, against whom she has a protection order. The deputy was unable to reach the boyfriend.
4:43 p.m. A woman called regarding a dispute with an auto repair shop. She said that she approached the owner and was questioning him about her vehicle overheating after she had spent thousands of dollars to fix the problem. She said that they never reached an agreement, and as she left, the owner dropped his pants and showed his buttocks. The owner was contacted and denied dropping his pants and said that there were several witnesses to back up his statement. The witnesses said that they never saw any such action.
8:32 p.m. To Campbell Ave. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that juveniles walking down the street punctured the tire on his vehicle with a knife. He said that neighbors witnessed the incident. The neighbor was unable to provide the names of suspects.

Friday 4/1

2:43 a.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a prowler. A man reported that he heard the neighbor’s dogs barking, looked out the window and saw a man climb over his fence into his back yard. He said he turned on a light and the man ran away. His girlfriend suspects her ex-boyfriend.
1:48 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. A woman at that location was found to have an active felony warrant. She was asked to walk with the deputy and she asked why. She was advised of the warrant and became upset. The deputy grabbed her arm and she twisted out of her jacket. The deputy grabbed her arm again and she tried to pull away. While getting his handcuffs, the woman turned around and tried to grab him. He then put her hands behind her and cuffed her. She was taken to jail on the warrant and was charged with resisting arrest.
2:02 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A male subject was reported running around and knocking on windows. He was located at the rear of the apartments sitting in the grass and talking to himself and his water bottle. He was asked if he was OK and he did not answer. Earlier the subject had told deputies that he had taken meth over a day ago and that the effects were still with him. He was unable to focus or answer questions and he was trying to plug his cell phone into a tree. He was transported by Bethel Twp. EMS for medical attention.
5:07 p.m. Traffic stop on Lake Rd. at Schiller Rd. The deputy saw marijuana in the vehicle. It was searched and more marijuana and a grinder were found. The driver was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
8:18 p.m. Traffic stop on Lower Valley Pike at Osborn Rd. When the vehicle stopped, the driver ran. The deputy chased him and told him to stop, but he continued. The K9 was called and the driver was located in a field. He was taken to jail on an outstanding warrant and charged with obstructing official business.

Saturday 4/2

3:27 a.m. Traffic stop in the 200 block of N. Main St. The driver appeared to be stuffing something behind the front seat and appeared very nervous. The deputy saw several beer cans on the rear floor. The driver and the passenger denied having anything illegal in the vehicle. The passenger possibly had outstanding warrants from other counties. The deputy spoke with her and she said she was from Indiana. The vehicle appeared to have been involved in an accident recently and the passenger said that they had hit a deer in Park Layne. She was cuffed and led back to the deputy’s cruiser, but she began having a seizure. Medics were called, but the seizure stopped before they arrived. As medics were checking her out, she had another seizure, so she was transported to SRMC for evaluation. Field sobriety tests on the driver were inconclusive, so he was taken to the jail for a breath test. As he was being patted down, he admitted to having drugs on his person. Deputies located a baggie of marijuana in his shoe. He was cited for OVI and one count of drug abuse. Once the passenger was released from the hospital, she was booked into the jail for her warrants.
9:40 a.m. To Applewood Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that overnight someone entered her vehicle and stole items from it. She said that the vehicle was unlocked. There are no suspects.
12:44 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a verbal dispute. A woman reported that she was involved in a verbal argument with the father of her child. She said that he went out drinking for his birthday and that they were arguing about some things that he had said. She said she asked him to leave until he calmed down, but he refused to do so. The boyfriend said that they were arguing because he is tired of being pulled into her family’s problems. Both agreed that there were no threats or acts of violence.
1:39 p.m. To Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that her son came to her residence looking for the mother of his child. She said that she didn’t know where the woman was, and he became upset and started calling her names. She said she pushed him out of the door, and he went around back and broke the glass in her back door. A warrant was issued for criminal damaging against the son.
4:17 p.m. To Lake Ave. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that she went to her vehicle and found a small dent and scratch in the driver’s door. She said that she believes that someone intentionally damaged her vehicle because other vehicles had been damaged in the area recently.
5:48 p.m. To Cedar Rd. for a report of wind damage. A man reported that as he was backing out of a driveway, a gust of wind blew a neighbor’s trampoline across the yard and it struck his truck, making a dent in his vehicle. The neighbor agreed to talk to the man.

Bethel Township

Thursday 4/1

10:14 a.m. Fraud reported in the 8700 block of S. State Route 201. An unknown subject ordered several boat propellers online and used a stolen credit card to pay. The items were shipped via DHL to London England. There were two shipments with one being stopped at customs in London. DHL and London police will attempt to track the suspect that signed for the first shipment.
1:14 p.m. Suspicious activity reported at Big Mike’s BP, 8561 S. State Route 201. Employee thought a fuel pump possibly had a skimmer inside of it. Deputy spoke with the Miami County Auditor Michael Davis who checked all of the fuel pumps. All pumps had a valid sticker and were not compromised. No skimmer was found. Davis did advise that a pump did have two wires that were unplugged inside the pump and possibly had been tampered with. If a skimmer had been hooked up, those two wires would have been used. That pump was placed out of service until maintenance personnel could clear the functionality of the pump. Davis also advised he would be checking the pump again.
8:18 p.m. Theft reported in the 8700 block of Bellefontaine Road. RP stated that at some point during the past week an unknown individual had stolen a Smith & Wesson P22 from her residence. RP had asked all family members and nobody knew the location of the gun. Deputy will search for the gun through the various resources available and will contact the RP.
10:32 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 6400 block of US Route 40. Deputies met with male and female who had been in a physical altercation. The female had visible scratches on her neck. She stated she had received them the day before from her stepfather when he attempted to remove her from the house. Female, identified as Robin Wells, said her boyfriend had brought pizza and beer home this evening and they were discussing their relationship and that is when it became physical. Wells said her boyfriend pushed her and she pushed him back. Deputies spoke to the male who confirmed Wells’ story regarding the pizza, beer and discussion. He stated she became upset and sucker punched him in the face and scratched his head. The male had injuries that supported this claim. He further stated he left the residence because he was uncertain what else she might do. The male confirmed Wells’ neck scratches came from her stepfather. Wells was informed she was being arrested prompting her to change her story regarding the neck scratches. She now wanted to blame her boyfriend, adding she didn’t want him to go to jail. When Wells was standing next to the cruiser she started to walk away from the deputy and screaming profanity at the boyfriend. A domestic violence packet was provided to the male. Wells was transported and incarcerated at the Miami County Jail for domestic violence.

Friday 4/2

12:21 p.m. Fraud reported in the 9700 block of Haskett Lane.
2:17 p.m. Theft not in progress reported 4100 block of US Route 40. RP reported last seeing his truck around noon when he took his lunch break in the vehicle. He noticed the vehicle missing at approximately 2:15 p.m. Vehicle is described as a red 1998 Chevrolet S10 single cab truck. RP advised the truck had tinted windows, black rims and black tool box in the bed of the truck. Inside the cab was a Nook Tablet, wallet, Stone Racing sweatshirt and the keys were in the ignition. Individuals at this location advised there had been a steady amount of traffic in and out of the building that day. The scene was photographed and a BOLO issued to Miami and adjacent counties. The vehicle was also entered into LEADS as stolen.

Tuesday 4/5

4:11 a.m. Disturbance reported in the 7700 block of Windham Drive
4:22 p.m. Unruly juvenile reported in the 6800 block of Walnut Street. Mom reported son was being extremely defiant, not listening to anything she told him to do and was getting verbal with her. She also stated that her son is currently on probation for unruly charges. Speaking with the juvenile, he understood why the deputy was there and said he didn’t know why he doesn’t listen to his mom. Mom decided she didn’t want to pursue charges, she only wanted him to listen and respect her. Deputy left a message for the juvenile’s probation office to advise of this situation.
