Sunday, August 16

11:22 AM To Styer Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone entered his vehicle and took a GPS unit. The RP later notified the deputy that he identified the suspect from his Facebook profile. The prosecutor’s office said that a Facebook profile was enough proof to charge the suspect with theft.

7:05 PM To Sycamore Rd. at Beach Dr. for a report of an accident. A motorcyclist southbound on Sycamore Rd. ran the stop sign and struck a vehicle westbound on Beach Dr. The cyclist was knocked off the bike and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with a possible broken leg. He did not want a squad, but just wanted his dad notified. He gave the driver of the vehicle a plastic baggie containing green vegetable matter, a lighter and a pack of rolling papers. He admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the crash. Blood was taken and submitted to the Crime Lab for analysis. Further charges are pending lab results.

9:01 PM To Winchester St. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that someone jumped her fence and damaged a door to her son’s truck. She said that the suspect also tried to enter her garage but was unsuccessful.

9:55 PM To Brumbaugh Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took some loose change and the registration and title to another vehicle.

Tuesday, August 18

7:22 AM To W. Washington St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he lives with his mother and he allowed his former girlfriend to move in. He said that about 2 weeks ago she left with his iPad and cell phone. He said that she has told him that she would return them but hasn’t done so yet. The deputy left a message for the girlfriend at her place of employment. The items were entered as stolen.

7:31 PM To S. Union St. for a report of fraud. A man stated that he checked his bank account online and saw a $127 purchase that he did not make. He suspects his ex-girlfriend. He said he texted her and asked if she made the charge and she replied that she didn’t.

7:56 PM To the N. Main St. Speedway for a peace officer call. A woman reported that she had to go to N. Scott St. and pick up her house key from her former boyfriend. The deputy went to the door and got the key. The boyfriend requested information on obtaining a protection order. Both said that the other was making threats, but did not request an official report.

8:49 PM To Prentice Dr. for a welfare check. A 12-year-old girl had called her grandmother because she tried to awaken her mother, and the mother’s eyes were crossed and was slurring her words. The girl told her grandmother that her mother was intoxicated. The mother did not show any signs of impairment. She said that she went to the IGA while her daughter was sleeping, and laid down for a nap herself. She said that her daughter has problems with lying and has already been charged with two felonies. After the deputy cleared the call, the grandmother called expressing her displeasure with the deputy’s decision to leave the child with the mother. She said that the mother was intoxicated. She was advised that there is no law against the mother drinking alcohol and that a 12-year-old child is able to maintain herself. The grandmother said that she was going to call the deputy’s supervisors and file a complaint.

9:19 PM To the Park Layne McDonald’s for a peace officer call. A man said that he was to pick up his children but was running a few minutes late. He said he called the mother and she was nasty, and said that she was going to keep the kids. He had originally called at 8 p.m., but due to heavy call volume, the deputy was not dispatched until 9:19 p.m. The man said that the kids would be in bed and he would just pick them up in the morning. The deputy spoke with the mother and said that he could have picked up the kids at 8:00 without law enforcement. She said that the children were still awake and that the father could pick them up. The father was notified, arrived soon after to pick up his children without incident.

Wednesday, August 19

4:41 PM To Orth Dr. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that her husband pushed her out of the home. The husband said that he took her by the hand and walked her out of the house to avoid escalation of a situation. He agreed to leave the residence for the evening.

5:14 PM To the Marathon station on N. Main St. for a report of menacing. A woman reported that she was at her boyfriend’s residence when she heard his brother screaming about how she robbed him. She said he stated that he was “going to put a hole in her” as he was tearing up the residence. She said that as she was walking out the front door with her belongings, he said that if she ever returned he would split her head open. A warrant was requested against the brother for one count of Aggravated Menacing.

8:04 PM To Lambers Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her father was staying the night with her and came home intoxicated and was being belligerent with her. She said he struck her in the face several times before she locked him out. She had visible injuries but was adamant about not pressing charges. She was advised that due to her story and her injuries, the father would be charged. The father, who was clearly intoxicated, said he did not want to make any statement other than that his daughter struck him. He had no visible injuries. He was placed under arrest for one count of Domestic Violence and one count of Assault. He was transported to the Clark County Jail to await his court date.

8:17 PM To W. National Rd. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he was sitting in front of his home when a neighbor came toward him and complained about the trash in front of his home. He said he told the neighbor to go home. He said the neighbor then pushed him into a brick wall and started throwing punches, hitting him several times. He had several visible injuries but refused to be transported to the hospital. Two witnesses confirmed his story. The neighbor stated that the RP had made racial slurs to him. He did admit to shoving the RP.

9:24 PM To Spinning Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. The deputy was advised that the male half had left in a red vehicle. He passed the vehicle, turned around and initiated a traffic stop in front of the Marathon station. The drvier was visibly upset, and advised that he was playing darts with friends at his home. He said that his daughter came out of her bedroom and began disrespecting him and his friends. He said he told her to go back into her room and leave them alone. He said she continued disrespecting him and couldn’t wait to be out on her own. He said he told her if she wanted to leave, she could do so now and pushed her onto her bed. He said that she jumped up and began attacking him with his girlfriend. He said that he left the residence to stay with his brother. The girlfriend said that she and the daughter were watching TV when the man began yelling at them and told the daughter that he could not wait until she moved out. She said he then pushed the daughter and covered her mouth with his hand. She said she tried to pull him off of her, but he pushed her into a nightstand. The daughter related a similar scenario and had fresh scratch marks on her throat and forearm. The man was charged with one count of Domestic Violence and one count of Assault. He was taken to the Clark County Jail to await his court date.

11:20 PM To Lake Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone entered his vehicle and took a GPS unit and an i-Pod. He supplied the models and serial numbers and requested an extra patrol.

Thursday, August 20

2:22 AM To Jason Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her intoxicated boyfriend tackled her up against the residence, knocking her to the ground. Once on the ground, he punched her and scratched her face. She said she defended herself by spraying him with pepper spray. She did not want to press charges.

4:06 PM To W. National Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone entered a storage lot and stole his trailer full of tools. He had surveillance video which showed a red Ford pickup truck taking the trailer and leaving toward Miami county. There are no suspects.

4:06 PM To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that inventory showed several items missing. He had surveillance video which showed a maintenance man in the room where the missing items were stored. The video was forwarded to detectives for further investigation.

4:34 PM To Galewood Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone stole her daughter’s Ipod. She suspects her sister, who took it to sell to buy drugs. They were able to track it to an address in Dayton where her sister buys drugs. The sister denied taking the ipod.

6:30 PM To Sandi Ln. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that an unknown number of oxycodone pills were taken from her home. An unknown number of family members had access to the home.

Friday, August 21

12:11 PM To Stratmore St. for a report of a found item. A woman reported finding a bicycle sitting against the back of her shed. The bike was not reported stolen. It will be submitted to property.

5:45 PM To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a domestic disturbance. A probation officer reported that her client was visibly upset and grabbed pencils acting like he was going to stab her. His foster parents said that they don’t feel safe and believe that they are in danger of retaliation. The boy said that he wants to go home to his grandmother. The boy was told that he was going to JDC, which upset him even more. He was handcuffed and forcibly taken to JDC and charged with Domestic Violence.

11:53 PM To Winchester St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in a dispute with her husband over his possibly having an affair. She said he left in their vehicle, but she needed the car seats to transport their children around. The husband soon returned, returned the car seats and gathered some belongings and left for the night.

Saturday, August 22

8:52 AM To S. Dayton-Lakeview for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that she noticed her car was driving funny while she was going to work. She stopped and checked the tires and found that they had been slashed. She went back home to find her son’s tires and his girlfriend’s tires had also been slashed. The son said he saw a known woman outside of their residence around 3:00 a.m.

11:27 AM To Elm Rd. for a report of a vehicle in the creek. A woman reported that she went outside and saw that someone had driven a truck into the creek. The plate came back to a rental company. Deputies found a suitcase in the truck with a name and phone number. Deputies called the number to learn that the driver was in town. The driver soon arrived and said that the vehicle had been stolen. He denied ownership of the drugs and drug paraphernalia in the truck.

6:18 PM To the Speedway on N. Main St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she had gone to her parents’ home on Falcon Dr. to pick up her children who had spent the night. She said that her mother told her that she was not sending the kids home because the older one was “playing mind games” with the younger child. She said that while she was arguing with her mother, her father came out yelling at her that she was not picking up her children. She said he punched her in the mouth with his fist. She said she then left the scene to avoid escalation of the situation. A deputy followed her to her parents’ home and she picked up the children without incident. The father admitted to pushing his daughter but did not punch her. The father was charged with assault and domestic violence and assault and transported to the Clark County Jail.

7:31 PM To Cooper Ave. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that overnight someone entered her unlocked vehicle and took several items. She said her husband will check their surveillance video to see if the incident was captured.

7:43 PM A deputy saw a stopped vehicle on the ram from I-675 to I-70. The driver threw something out of the window. As the driver exited the vehicle, the deputy asked if he was OK and the driver replied that he was. There was a young child in the passenger seat with no car seat. He appeared to be under the influence of something and was asked if he smoked marijuana lately. He replied that he had about an hour ago and that “it was some good stuff.” He said that his girlfriend had just purchased the vehicle but they haven’t transferred the plates yet. He failed several field sobriety tests and was informed that he was being arrested for OVI, possession of dangerous drugs, child endangering, fictitious plates, booster seat required and driving under suspension. He was taken to the Clark County Jail.

9:21 PM To Lower Valley Pike for a report of an assault. A woman reported that her brother was taken to jail and she went to his address to drop the child off with his girlfriend. She said the girlfriend refused to take the child and an altercation ensued. She said that the girlfriend punched her in the face and head butted her. She said that as she left, the girlfriend threw something at her vehicle and damaged the mirror. The girlfriend said that the woman came by to drop off the child and bail money. She said that the woman confronted her, dragged her out of the home and an altercation ensued. She said the woman would not leave, so she grabbed a cookie jar and threw it at her vehicle. Neither party wanted to press charges. The girlfriend was found to have an outstanding warrant, so she was arrested for it and taken to the Clark County Jail.

9:49 PM A man called to report that while he was driving on W. Jefferson St., a white male came out and threw a water bottle at his vehicle and yelled “Why don’t you stop and fight me.” He said the bottle did not hit his vehicle and he kept moving to avoid an altercation. Due to the high call volume from that address, an information report was filed.

11:07 PM To Hocker Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was arguing with her boyfriend because he wanted to drive after drinking. She said he told her to leave the home and threw her belongings out the front door. She said that he pushed her and picked her up and set her down outside. The woman was not very cooperative and deputies could not locate the boyfriend. She said she was going to spend the night with her brother to avoid any more conflicts.

Friday, Aug 21

5:02 PM Traffic accident with no injury investigated near the Bethel High School. 7490 S. State Route 201.

5:36 PM Possible fraud or blackmail reported in the 4100 block of Gibson Drive. Business owner reported an ex-employee attempted to make him sign a document. The ex-employee had been fired earlier in the week and showed up at the business with a person he claimed to be his attorney. He had asked the business owner to sign a form stating he would not fight the fired employee’s unemployment benefits. The fired employee then allegedly stated if the owner didn’t sign the form, he would call OSHA and the EPA and file claims of violations against this company. Deputy told owner he would consult with the prosecutor for possible charges.

Saturday, Aug 22

7:45 PM Deputy dispatched to assist the Bethel EMS in the 8700 block of Bellefontaine Road with an intoxicated juvenile in need of an ambulance. Deputy spoke with the mother and she stated her son was at a friend’s house in New Carlisle today and “got himself in trouble”. Around 6 pm the mother was contacted by Clark County Sheriff’s Office and advised they were out with her son and he was intoxicated. She was asked to meet with the CCSO to pick him up and was informed charges of underage consumption would be forwarded to the prosecutor. When the mother arrived at home with her son he passed out and hit his head. Once he regained consciousness he started “acting strange” and hallucinating. Juvenile was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. MC Deputy told the mother that he would not be pursuing any charges again her son since he had already been dealt with by CC.

12:37 PM Theft not in progress reported in the 9500 block of Palmer Road. An unlocked truck had been rummaged through and items stolen. No suspects or leads at this time.

Sunday, Aug 23

7:30 PM Animal complaint in the 4100 block of South Dayton Brandt Road. RP said there has been an ongoing problem with his neighbor’s dogs barking. Dispatch call history indicated deputies have responded to the residence 8 times since January 2015. A citation was issued to Chris Moore for Bethel Township noise ordinance.

Monday, Aug 24

3:17 PM Welfare check in the 9000 block of West Haskett Lane. Dispatch received a call that an elderly man appeared to be having a medical issue. Unable to locate the vehicle, a deputy responded to the address registered to the vehicle. The male was found to be in good health and did not appear to be under the influence of anything.

11:34 PM Disturbance reported in the 4400 block of Dinsmore Drive.

Tuesday, Aug 25

3:35 PM Menacing complaint in the 7800 block of Newbury Road. RP advised ex-husband had been driving past her house and recently she observed him stopping to take pictures. RP asked these incidents be documented. RP was provided information on obtaining a CPO.

3:45 PM Telecommunications harassment in the 7000 block of Agenbroad Road. RPs had been harassed through text messages and phone calls. Threats to physically harm the RP resulted in David Germann being charged with menacing.

6:41 PM Fraud reported in the 4900 block of Rudy Road. RP received a letter from a bank regarding an application for a credit card. The RP had not applied for this card and an unknown person had used her identity.
