Sunday, August 30

8:51 PM Traffic stop on Dayton-Lakeview Rd. near Rt. 40. The plates on the vehicle came back to a Nissan, and they were on a Buick. The sticker belonged to a Chevy and was reported stolen. The driver said her granddaughter got the plates and sticker. The driver was also found to be under suspension. She was charged with driving under suspension, fictitious plates, expired plates and receiving stolen property. The vehicle was towed and the plates were placed in property.

Monday, August 31

9:43 AM To Sycamore Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that AMn brought his trailer to be painted. He said that when he returned to his business yesterday, the trailer was gone, and he thought the owner took it. He said the owner came by today and said that he did not take it.

4:42 PM To S. Church St. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he was riding with his girlfriend when she stopped in the middle of the road and kicked him out of the vehicle. He said she then started throwing his items out of the vehicle and slapped him in the face several times when he tried to gather his belongings. He had no visible injuries to his face and did not wish to press charges.

5:58 .m. To Marquart Rd. for a report of a suspicious person. A man reported seeing AMle wearing blue jeans and no shirt carrying a trash bag and a backpack standing in the roadway. He said the subject stashed a white trash bag next to a drainage ditch. He said he did not want it on his property. The items were collected and submitted to property. The bag contained clothes, and a card was left where the bag was stashed so that the owner could retrieve them.

6:44 PM To Spinning Rd. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that sometime today, someone entered her home and stole her TV. She said that a neighbor witnessed the theft. The neighbor said that between noon and 2:00, AMle suspect was sitting inside his vehicle for at least an hour in front of the residence. The neighbor said that three females and a small juvenile were in a white vehicle. She said that a short time later, two females exited the residence with a flat screen TV and put it in one of the vehicles. Neighbors stated that they heard a female say “hurry up, my grandpa should be home any time.” While patrolling in New Carlisle, the deputy saw one of the vehicles at the Speedway station and spoke with the driver, advising him that he was under investigation for burglary. He said that the RP’s granddaughter contacted him to pick her up from school and wanted to get something from her dad’s house. He said that the granddaughter’s friends followed them. He said that two of the granddaughter’s friends went inside the residence with the granddaughter, then exited the home with the TV. He said he heard one of them say “David doesn’t even know what’s going on.” He said he was hesitant about loading the TV, but the granddaughter assured him that it was OK. He said she told him that they were going to sell the TV and that she would pay him for driving. He said that after they loaded the TV, he took them to a cash advance store in Huber Heights, and he used his ID to sell the TV for $100. He said the granddaughter and one friend split the money, and they put gas in his car for driving. The RP was notified of the man’s story, and she said that she didn’t want to press charges against her granddaughter. The granddaughter, who originally said that she knew nothing about the TV because she was in school all day, finally AMtted that the other girl was her cousin and that the cousin talked her into taking the TV. She said the cousin uses pills and needed money for them. The Prosecutor’s office was contacted regarding charges against the granddaughter for obstructing official business.

9:35 PM To Fenwick Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he allowed his niece to use his vehicle. He said that her ex-boyfriend took the registration. He said he called the boyfriend to get the registration, and the boyfriend told him to “call the police.” Attempts to reach the boyfriend were unsuccessful.

Tuesday, September 1

12:32 AM To Fenwick Dr. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had taken her car without permission. She said that it was parked at her uncle’s home because it was not operable, and he put tags on it because hers were expired. She said that her uncle has already reported the plates as stolen. She said she knows the boyfriend has the car because a friend saw him in St. Paris. She was advised that since she has allowed him to use it in the past, it is not stolen. She asked if it could be towed back to her uncle’s home. Champaign County Sheriff’s office was notified and they were able to recover the car. The boyfriend stated that he had bought the car for the RP.

3:01 AM To Mark Dr. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that she left her home about 5:30 PM the previous day and returned around 1:00 this morning. She said she noticed that the window air conditioner was not in the window. She said she and her boyfriend checked the home and found that the air conditioner, her TV and DVD player were missing. Her roommate’s baby crib mattress was also missing, as well as various household items. One fingerprint was lifted from the window.

9:04 AM To Galewood Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her debit card to make over $400 in purchases in the Cincinnati area. She did not know how the card was compromised.

7:02 PM To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a possible overdose. Bethel Twp. Medics were able to revive the female subject with Narcan, and she was then transported to the hospital. Witnesses stated that an unidentified male brought the subject to the apartment and dropped her on the floor.

8:35 PM To the S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. The male half was uncooperative and did not wish to press charges. His eye was injured, and he said “she hit me, I think her nails cut me.” He was checked by medics and refused treAMnt. He declined signing a statement stating “I don’t want to see my child’s mother arrested.” The female half was also uncooperative and only said “I’ve been in an abusive relationship for the past six years.” Deputies then discovered that she had crashed her vehicle into a retaining wall causing damage to her vehicle and the wall. She also refused medical treAMnt. Witnesses stated that they saw the two arguing, saw the woman hit the man in the face and heard the man scream “My eye, my eye.” They also said that the woman got into her vehicle, sped around the building and struck the retaining wall. The woman was determined to be the primary aggressor and was charged with one count of domestic violence and one count of assault.

Wednesday, September 2

1:03 PM To Osborn Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone entered her vehicle and took the GPS. There are no suspects.

9:51 PM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that her husband got upset at her because Subway was out of steak for his sandwich. She said he punched her in the face, grabbed her AM and dragged her through the home then threw her out the front door. The husband denied abusing his wife. She had injuries consistent with her story. The husband was charged with assault and domestic violence.

10:09 PM To Walsh Dr. for a report of a found item. A man reported finding a purse at the football field in a trash can. The purse was full of personal property. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful.

Thursday, September 3

1:37 PM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a theft. A woman reported that while she was away, her boyfriend moved out and took her debit card. She said he also let her dogs out of their cages and they defecated throughout the home. She said he bragged about his actions on Facebook. The boyfriend soon arrived and was causing issues, but left before deputies arrived.

5:30 PM To Todd Lee Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that sometime overnight, someone took his steel fire pit from his back yard. There are no suspects.

Friday, September 4

7:36 PM To Wendall St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a bicycle was taken from the front of her home. There are no suspects.

10:36 PM To Braun St. for a report of an accident. A driver pulled into a driveway and exited the vehicle in an attempt to flee the deputy. His vehicle rolled backward into the deputy’s cruiser. He was charged with leaving the scene.

Saturday, September 5

11:10 PM To Dalton Dr. for a report of a potential fight. A man reported that he was westbound on Gerlaugh Rd. and was struck from behind by a Chevy Blazer. He said that the Blazer then left the scene. He said he followed the Blazer and the driver was operating recklessly through a parking lot on Dalton Dr., then made an abrupt left turn and flipped onto its side. The driver of the Blazer then left the scene. The owner of the Blazer was contacted and said that she was in the process of reporting it stolen to Troy Police. She said she believed that her son had taken it without permission. Attempts to reach the son, who had outstanding warrants, were unsuccessful. Troy Police were contacted for a copy of their theft report.

Friday, Sept 4

6:27 PM Criminal damage reported in the 7800 block of Newbury Road. RP was picking up his child from ex-wife’s home. He stated she pounded on his driver’s window and then picked up a bag and threw it across the front of his truck. This caused two nicks in the paint and a scratch on the hood. At this time he only wanted the incident documented.

Saturday, Sept 5

00:43 AM Traffic stop in the area of PAMr and Singer Road. Vehicle was stopped for an expired registration. The driver and registered owner was issued a citation for the expired registration.

1:56 PM Neighbor complaint in the 4300 block of West Charleston Road. Homeowners thought their neighbor had damaged their fence. They advised they had ongoing issues with this neighbor. Two attempts were made to speak with the neighbors but the deputy was unsuccessful. On Sept 7 the homeowner called to report that the neighbor had urinated on their fence the previous night. Since the first incident they had purchased a surveillance camera which recorded the latest event. Deputy responded the residence and reviewed the surveillance footage. The deputy was able to speak with the neighbor today. He was advised he had been trespassed from the property. He would still have access to the septic line on the property. He was also warned for criminal damaging and it was suggested any future issues be dealt with through appropriate township or civic channels.

Sunday, Sept 6

11:57 AM Hit skip accident reported in the 7000 block of Pisgah Road. An unknown person went off the road and struck an electric utility pole and truck. The area was checked for evidence and a piece of the vehicle was found near the utility pole. Also found was a set of keys and AMroon bag. A neighbor stated a light blue older (possibly late 1970’s) model ford truck was observed going off the road, hit the utility pole and travel through the victim’s yard.

Monday, Sept 7

10:10 AM Civil dispute in the 7200 block of East State Route 571

5:49 PM Domestic dispute at the Sunshine MHP, 136 Solar Drive. An intoxicated male was upset and cursing at another male over a fast food sandwich. There was no physical hAMor threats made. The male victim was advised of the eviction process and told to call 911 if any other problems occurred.

Tuesday, Sept 8

10:42 AM Unruly juvenile reported at Bethel High School, 7490 S. State Route 201. Bethel Schools had received information from students regarding a potential threat. Deputy spoke to the Superintendent who advised a student had received several text messages. The messages could be interpreted as a threat to the safety of the students and staff and the school. The student who had made the threats was not at school on Tuesday. The High School Principal had made contact with the parents and they advised that their juvenile son was being withdrawn from the Bethel Schools. He will be enrolled in a Montgomery County School. The Deputy remained at the school until noon and observed no issues.
