Huber Heights Police were involved in a pursuit early Wednesday (Aug 9) morning that ended with the suspect crashing into a tree in the 4100 block of Scarff Road.

A Huber officer saw a vehicle that he knew belonged to a wanted suspect in the Wal-Mart parking lot. He waited until the suspect returned to the car, recognized him, and the pursuit began.

“We were familiar with the car,” said Sgt. Frank Crouse of the Huber Heights Police Department. “We’ve dealt with this guy before.”

The pursuit took them through the city of New Carlisle and Clark County deputies were informed.

After crashing into the tree, the driver, who had multiple warrants against him, tried to flee, leaving his female passenger in the car.

The driver was apprehended, taken to a local emergency room for treatment of his injuries, then to the Montgomery County Jail.

Huber Police were assisted at the scene by deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s office and the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
