There has apparently been an attempted robbery at the Rite Aid store at the corner of Main and Jefferson Streets.
About 1:25 p.m., Clark County Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched to the store on a report that someone tried to rob the store of pills.
We spoke with a witness who saw a black man run down the alley south of Jefferson St. and get into an older maroon car with 30-day tags. This information was also confirmed by Detective Melchi.
Melchi also confirms that the suspect was unsuccessful in their attempt to rob the store.
The suspect is reported to have given a note to the pharmacist listing the drugs he wanted. All were oxycontin related. The note also read, "Your life is in your hands."
