Clark County Sheriff Deputies responded to a home on W. Jefferson St. Friday morning after receiving a 3rd party call of an individual exhibiting violent behavior and possibly having a knife.

Three deputies surrounded the residence with guns drawn ordering the suspect out of the home.

After about an hour, the two residents came out and assured deputies that no one else was in the home and that there were no problems there.

Neither the residents nor the homeowner would grant permission for deputies to enter the house to make sure it was safe.

“There was no evidence that violent behavior is going on,” said Sgt. Kristopher Shultz. “We couldn’t forcibly enter the residence.”

“We made every legal attempt to make sure no one was injured,” said Sgt. Ralph Underwood. “If someone is injured, the liability is now on the homeowner.”
