Bethel junior guard Caleb South received the highest honor among the local kids, as the Bees standout guard was named to the Division Three first-team All-Southwest District boys’ basketball team, voted on by the media in the district.

Northwestern saw its girls’ bowling team qualify for the state meet last Friday in Columbus, and not only did they put together a strong team effort, they had three of the top ten bowlers at the state tournament.

Youth was served for the Tecumseh Arrows at the district wrestling meet held last weekend at Fairmont, as the Arrows sent five grapplers into action for an opportunity to qualify for the state meet this weekend in Columbus.

Caleb South scored 46 points to lead a high-flying Bethel Bees offense, leading the hometown team to a 101-81 win over Anna to advance to the district finals tomorrow night at UD Arena.

It was a successful two days spent at Centerville High School for the Tecumseh wrestling team, as coach Scott Herbert’s squad will be sending six wrestlers to the districts this weekend.

Forget that three of the starters are sophomores.

For the first five minutes of the game, the #20 seeded Tecumseh boys’ basketball team were right with the #1 seed Springfield squad.

It was a strong performance for the Northwestern girls’ bowling team, as they won the Division Two District tournament last week, advancing their entire team to the upcoming state tournament.

When the dust had settled, the difference between Greenon, Tecumseh and Northwestern was as slim as it could be.

Tecumseh FFA members are preparing for the General Livestock judging season.
