THS VS Greenon 0113 004The Tecumseh Arrows are playing stellar basketball and now improve to 12-2 on the season after last week’s 62-41 win against the Greenon Knights who now fall to 2-10.

Tecumseh head coach Roger Culbertson shares his thoughts on his team’s overall performance after the win.

“We played fairly well. I don’t think we shot the ball well overall as a team especially from the three-point line. We have to knock some of those shots down. Overall, I thought we played decent and did what we had to do.”

Greenon head coach Scott Smith gives his insight on his team’s performance after the loss.

“Any team sees and scouts us will pressure us. We don’t handle the ball well and we don’t handle pressure well be it bad passes or being able to handle it off the dribble. All I got to say is it’s got to continue to be a work in progress.”

In the first quarter, both teams were off to a strong start and the quarter ended with the Arrows up on the Knights 16-9 at the end of the end the first.

Heading into the second quarter, the Arrows started to pull away and go on a 22 point run.

Turnovers and miscues hurt the Knights chances at putting points on the board but the Arrows surely took advantage of the opportunity.

Coach Culberston talks about his team’s defense in the quarter.

“It’s been really sporadic all year. We played OK. I thought we were making some strides this week. We caused a lot of turnovers due to their lack of execution. Overall, I thought defensively we were well but we still have to get better for sure.

The Knights were only able to put up seven points in the second quarter.

The Arrows are up 38-19 going into halftime.

Coming out halftime, The Arrows got stellar play from the Quisenberry Brothers.

Malik and Darius were active on both sides of the ball.

Daruis Quisenberry shined in the second half. He acquired a handful of steal and turned them into points in transition.

He also dazzled the crowd with his open-floor dunks.

The Knights weren’t able to solve their problem on the offensive side as they continued struggle with turnovers.

The Arrows led 53-26 at the end of the third.

The final quarter would not be any different as the Arrows went on to beat the Knights.

The Arrows’ Darius Quisenberry almost had a triple-double with a game-high 19 points, six assist and eight steals. Ross Warren scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds and Malik Quisenberry scored seven points.

Owen Leathley led the Knights in scoring with eight points and Austin Swope scoring seven.
