Arrow Girls Win Two of Three, Now 10-2

The Tecumseh girls’ basketball team cruised through two non-league opponents earlier last week, before suffering a tough home loss on Saturday night to Carroll, as they ran their record to 10-2 overall. They head into the second half of the CBC starting this Saturday against Shawnee.

They opened up the week with a 68-26 rout of Trotwood Madison on the road, as they jumped in front 33-12 at the half and never looked back.

Lindsey Nartker led all scorers with 26 points, along with six rebounds and six steals. Also scoring in double figures was Corinne Thomas with 14 and Danielle Franklin added nine. Tecumseh’s defense did not allow the Rams to put a player in double figures, as they controlled the game from the opening tip.

They came back and dismantled Eaton 81-55, as again they jumped out of the gate and never looked back. The Arrows led 33-7 after the opening period, and coasted from there, as the game was played evenly from that point.

Caroline Smith lit up the Eagles defense for a 20-point night including six three’s, while Nartker, Thomas and Franklin all scored 14 and Presley Griffitts added 13. The Arrows had 10 three’s in the contest.

On Saturday night, the Arrows suffered only their second loss of the season, falling to Carroll 69-62 to drop to 10-2 overall.

The game saw the Arrows open up a double figure lead only to see the Patriots storm back to make the fourth quarter a battle between the two squads.

Nartker led the charge for the Arrows with 21 points, while Smith scored 12, Thomas 11, and two each with nine: Franklin and Griffitts.

The Arrows had to play much of the second half without their head coach Danielle Thomas, who received two technical fouls.

Tecumseh returns to action against Shawnee on Saturday.
