Ashley Fite slides safely into third when Kaylee Shelton of Indian Lake has trouble catching the throw.

After watching a two-run lead evaporate late in the game, Logan Markstrom took the game into her own hands.

The Tecumseh freshman lined a single to left field driving in Ashley Fite with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving the Arrows a 5-4 walkoff victory over Troy on Friday night to give Tecumseh their ninth win of the season.

Both teams came out swinging in this non-league contest, as Troy scored twice in their opening at-bat. Josie Rohlfs led off the game by reaching on an error, and came into score when Kearston Riley lined a triple to the wall putting the Trojans on the board right out of the gate.

One batter later, Riley scored when Lauryn Rutan grounded out to give the visiting Trojans a quick 2-0 lead against the Tecumseh sophomore Fite.

The Arrows came right back with Fite contributing. A walk to Erica Thornhill led off the inning, but she was forced on a ground ball from Zoe Dean. Fite then ripped a triple to score Dean cutting the deficit in half, and one out later, Fite scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at two.

Rutan struck again with a double with two outs in the third against Fite, but was stranded in scoring position.

In the Tecumseh third, Thornhill got the inning started with a single and moved to third on a bunt single. Both runners pulled off a double steal giving the Arrows a 3-2 lead. A groundout from McKenize Drews allowed another run to score, and the Arrows led 4-2.

The Arrows could not score Fite in the fifth after she singled and moved to third on an error, but a popup to second from Drews and ground out by Markstrom left Fite in scoring position.

Troy fought back in the sixth after Molly Miller and Rutan both reached. Rutan had a lengthy at-bat before Fite lost her to a walk. One out later, Madison Potts doubled in both runs, tying the game at four. She was left stranded and the game started from scratch.

Troy threated to take the lead in the top of the seventh after Megan Malott singled and stole second. An infield single put pressure on Fite, who enduced the Trojans to ground out and fly out to end the threat.

Thornhill led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice. An intentional walk to Fite set up the Arrows for the game winner.

After moving to third, Fite scored when Markstrom singled and the Arrows gained the non-league win.
