The New Carlisle Farmer’s Market ended Saturday and what a pleasurable ride it’s been. A huge thank you to Chris Leapley, Scott Griffith, Suzie Stapleton, and Pam Gunn, members of the Market Committee that selflessly poured countless hours in to make this Farmer’s Market the success it’s been!

We were fortunate to have 2 market features last week, Gretchen Mitchell and Phil Fogliani.

Gretchen charmed the crowd with her lovely voice as she sang and played the guitar. Don’t let her fool you though, music isn’t all she’s good at. In fact, she’s a realtor from Springfield and if you’re in the market to buy, rent, or sell, she’s worth checking out!

Phil brought his children books and the main star of the books, Sparky the dragon! In the books, Sparky relates to preschool and kindergarten aged children in every day life and also the unique challenges these youngsters face. Phil is also the President of United Background Checks. While he’s locally based out Springfield he offer’s the same capabilities that national companies do, at competitive prices, and with personalized real service.

Where would our market be without our sponsors? Honestly, I don’t like thinking about that and would prefer to just thank them.

Orva Detrick is the owner of Gold Silver Coin, which as you may have noticed in the past weeks, is right along main street where the farmers market has been held. He’s been in business here in New Carlisle for 8 years now, and is always ready to provide an experienced appraisal of your gold and silver coins. Orva was happy to sponsor the farmers market this year as a way to support the local community, so stop by his shop sometime and see if there’s anything you’d like to buy, sell, or trade!

Lowell McGlothin is our local Farmers Insurance representative here in New Carlisle. He’s been providing this community with an exhaustive options of insurance coverage for 15 years. Lowell has enjoyed sponsoring the farmers market this year and feels that it is a wonderful asset to New Carlisle and he enjoys having people in town to show off their products! There’s been a good turn out this year, with a lot of good food and other things to purchase at the New Carlisle farmers market.

Honey Creek Presbyterian Church sits right along W Jefferson St. They aim to share peace through God’s Word, fellowship, education, and service. Not only have they been a great sponsor for the Farmer’s Market, but they’ll also be hosting the New Carlisle Christmas Bazaar! The cat’s out of the stocking, December 12th (11am-4pm), Honey Creek will offer a light lunch, there will be a performance by the New Carlisle Area Community Chorus, and they’ll be opportunities to take family pictures in front of the Poinsettia Tree in the sanctuary! Mark 12/12 on your calendar and when you start to miss the Farmer’s Market, just remember that there will be 16 vendors from the Farmer’s Market present at the Bazaar!

World Threads is a presenting sponsor of the New Carlisle Farmer’s Market.
