They reached their goal last year of double digit victories, and now the Bethel Bees girls’ basketball team is ready to gear up for another big season.

It was a great finish to a high school football game, as Ian Anderson blocked an Arcanum field goal attempt to preserve a week ten victory for Bethel, and giving them a 7-3 record on the season.

Bethel saw their season come to an end last week in the boys’ soccer District Finals, as they fell short against the state’s top-ranked team Summitt Country Day 6-0 to see their season come to an end.

While the season officially ended Friday night for the Bethel Bees, they wrapped up a very successful season with a 30-28 thrilling victory at Arcanum, in a game that literally came down to the final play of the game.

The sixth-seeded Bethel Bees cruised past league foe National Trail last week 12-0 to open the Division Four sectional tournament held at Bethel High School.

Gabby Behr scored the games’ lone goal in the second half, leading the Bethel girls’ soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Northwestern last week in the opening game of the Division Three soccer sectional tournament.

For the first time since 2011, the Bethel boys’ soccer team has something to celebrate.

Every year, the Miami East volleyball team is traditionally one of the strongest overall teams in the area.

They survived Newton and Franklin Monroe, so the Bethel Bees now had to battle another team near the top of the standings in the Cross County Conference, as Bethel looked to remain atop the league standings as they put their unbeaten record on the line against Miami East, who only had one loss.

It has been a rollercoaster season for the Bethel Bees on the football field this fall.

Both Troy Christian and Bethel’s volleyball teams needed the win on Saturday to help them gain some momentum headed into the last couple weeks of the regular season.
