The Bethel track teams ran at the Impson invitational on Saturday. The boys finished 15th with 13 points and the girls finished 15th with 8 points.
The girls were led by Kayla Grable with a fourth place finished in the long jump with a jump of 14’ 9”. The 4x8 relay team finished in sixth place in a time of 11:44.58. The team consisted of Grable, Kaitlyn Balkcom, Madi McCabe and Ashley Newton.
For the boys, Korry Hamlin had a fourth-place finish in the 1600 in a time of 4:44.40 and a sixth-place finish in the 800 with a 2:09.74. The 4x8 relay team finished in fourth place in a time of 9:08.25. The team consisted of Hamlin, Keaton Smith, Colton Smith and Connor Whelan.
*Also last week, the Bees competed at Milton-Union on Tuesday. The girls finished in 5th place with 38 points and the boys were 3rd with 57 points.
The Lady Bees were led by Grable with a first-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 14’ 3” and in the 4x8 that won in 12:04. Joining Grable were McCabe, Newton and Balkcom. Kaitlyn also had a first-place finish in the 1600 in a time of 6:08. Newton added a second-place finish in the 400 in a time of 69.6. The 4x2 relay team of Brooklyn Smith, Kate Ellish, Emily Johnson and Lauren Newton finished in third with a time of 2:07. Smith added a fourth-place finish in the 400 in a time of 72.0.
The 4x4 relay of Grable, McCabe, Balkcom and Ashley Newton finished fourth in a time of 5:22.6 to round out the scoring for the girls.
For the boys Whelan was first in the 300 hurdles in a time of 49.9. He was also a member of the 4x8 team of Smith, Smith and Hamlin that won in a time of 9:25. Hamlin also added a first in the 800 in a time of 2:16. He also had a second-place finish in the 400 in a time of 57.0 and as a member of the 4x4 team that ran 4:01.8. Joining Hamlin on the 4 by 400 was Keaton Smith, Colton Smith and Peyton Inman.
Inman also added a second-place finish in the 300 Hurdles in a time of 52.2. Whelan had a third-place finish in the 1600 in 5:33 and Wyatt Leet was third in the 200 in 26.56.
Colton Smith finished in fourth in the 400 in a time of 60.22 and the 4x1 relay of Leet, Tristan Johnson, Tyler Brigham and Inman were fourth in a time of 54.3. Chris Ahrens had fifth place finish in the 1600 and the 3200 in times of 5:40 and 13:29 respectively. Smith rounds out the scoring with a fifth-place finish in the 200 in a time of 27.1.
