Bethel Volleyball- Bethel swept three games from Dayton Christian last week in a volleyball contest in their home opener, evening their record at 1-1 with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-22 straight set victory.

“I was very impressed how they came out tonight with their energy,” said new Bethel coach Lauren Seibenaller. “They came out with energy, and it showed in their play today.”

“I wasn’t sure what to expect with this group this year, but they have shown a lot of heart and fight.”

Seibenaller noted the strong play of senior Tia Koewler.

“She served and hit aggressively, and she hit well also.”

Also last week, the Bees lost to Xenia Christian in a five set match 27-29, 16-25, 25-16, 25-17, 15-10. Koewler and Sarah Swisher each led the way with 11 and seven kills respectively, while Kaitlyn Parker had five aces and 20 assists.

Aliana Hawthorn had 21 digs, while Koewler added 17 for the Bees.

*Bethel defeated Greeneview 25-19, 25-13, 25-15. Koewler and Swisher tallied 10 and six kills, Parker dished out 21 assists. Hawthorn led with four service aces. Senior Bailey McCabe led with 12 digs.

Bethel Golf- The Bethel golf team shot a school and conference record at Cliffside Golf course defeating Newton by the score of 139-155. Bethel was led by Tyler Weinert with a 33 followed by Tyler Brookhart and Nick Lightcap with 34’s, Connor Hockett shot 38, Christian White 46 and Devon Truman 51. Bethel is now 6-1 and 5-1 in the CCC.
