Bethel junior guard Caleb South received the highest honor among the local kids, as the Bees standout guard was named to the Division Three first-team All-Southwest District boys’ basketball team, voted on by the media in the district.

South led the Bees to the top of the Cross County Conference, and averaged nearly 25 points per game this season for Bethel. His teammate Ryan Rose also earned honorable mention.

Joining South on the first-team was Sam Martin from Summit Country Day, Craig McGee from Roger Bacon, Justin Ahrens of Versailles and Lorenzo Sparks from North College Hill. Ahrens was selected as the Player of the Year.

Also in Division Three, the Northwestern duo of Kurt Waters and Evan Noffke were both selected to the Honorable Mention list. The Warriors won the CBC Mad River Division on the last night of league play, defeating Indian Lake to wrap up the conference.

Tecumseh placed one player on the Division One team, as junior Clay Mastin was selected as an honorable mention player.

Tippecanoe also saw one of their players earn a spot on the Division Two honorable mention list, as Zach Bonifas was honored by the media. Greenon did not have anyone listed on the all-District team.

* For the girls, the Tecumseh sophomore duo of Presley Griffitts and Corinne Thomas both landed spots among the top 15 kids in Division One. Griffitts was named to the second-team, as the sophomore averaged just over 20 points per game. Alongside Griffitts on the second-team was Gabbie Marshall of Mount Notre Dame, Samari Mowbray of Mason, Jordan Diehl of Springboro and Jasmine Hale from Glen Este.

Thomas also lit up opponents for a 26.1 scoring average, and was named third-team along with Layne Ferrell of Franklin, Destiny Bohanon of Wayne, Emma Wright of Talawanda and De’Asia Reed of Princeton.

Tecumseh sophomore Macy Berner was also named to the honorable mention.

Tippecanoe also had three players and one coach honored by the district, as junior Allison Mader was selected to the third-team in Division Two, while senior Taylor Prall and junior Cali Stewart were both honored as honorable mention players.

Red Devils coach Andy Holderman was selected by the media as the Division Two Coach of the Year in Southwest Ohio after leading Tippecanoe to the GWOC title in their first year and advancing to another regional tournament.

Northwestern had senior Abby Zerkle named to the third-team, as she averaged over 21 points per game for the Warriors.

Also named to the Division Two honorable mention was Greenon freshman Reagan Ware, who finished her first season with the Knights averaging over 18 points per game.

The all-Ohio teams will come out this week.
