The Bethel swim team swept the recent Tecumseh Invitational held at the New Carlisle Fitness Center as the girls’ scored 405 points, followed by Tecumseh (280), Northwestern (229), Indian Lake (100) and Greenon (24).

In the boys’ race, Bethel again was victorious with 283 points, Northwestern had 172, Indian Lake 149, Tecumseh 101 and Greenon 50. There were several swimmers who brought home top places.

In the girls 200 relay, Bethel took home the top two spots, as the group of May Stephenson, Rachel Norris, Eiliana Wright and Maggie Kahler won with 2:13.62 which was a meet record. Another Bethel group was second.

The boys’ 200 medley relay saw Brandon Moore, Zach Moore, Max Schell and Connor Whelan win with a 2:03.25.

Hannah Peck gave Tecumseh a win in the girls’ 200 Free, with Grace McKinney from Bethel second and Mary Stephan-Saunders from Northwestern finishing third. In the boys race, Greenon’s Kenny DePhillip was the winner with Whelan from Bethel second and Northwestern’s Liam Burns third.

The girls’ 200 IM saw Wright from Bethel finish first, Tecumseh’s Michelle Murray was second and Emmy Funderburg from Northwestern third. Zach Moore (Bethel) won the boys’ 200 IM.

In the girls’ 50 Free, Julia Randenburg from Tecumseh was the overall winner, with Kahler of Bethel second and Aurora Miller from Tecumseh placing third. In the boys’ race, Schell from Bethel was second and Alex Kennedy from Tecumseh placed third.

Wright gave Bethel a title in the girls’ 100 butterfly and Northwestern freshman Drew Blazer won for the boys.

In the girls’ 100 free, Murray took home first place for Tecumseh, with Bethel’s Kahler second and Northwestern freshman Alex Smith third. Brandon Moore from Bethel won the boys’ race, with DePhillip from Greenon second and Whelan of Bethel third.

Peck came back and gave Tecumseh another gold, as she won the girls’ 500 free, followed by Funderburg (Northwestern) and Stephenson (Bethel) third. In the boys’ 500 free, Brennan Deramus was second for Northwestern and Bethel’s Christian Hartley was third.

Tecumseh won the girls 200 freestyle relay, as the team of Murray, Peck, Randenburg and Emma Arndts swam to the win. Bethel was second and Northwestern third. The boys’ 200 free relay was taken by Bethel’s Moore, Moore, Whelan and Schell. Tecumseh placed third.

In the girls 100 backstroke, Smith from Northwestern won the event, with Arndts of Tecumseh second and McKinney of Bethel third. The boys 100 backstroke saw Logan Back from Tecumseh place second and Brandon Moore of Bethel third.

Randenburg (Tecumseh) won the girls 100 breaststroke with Norris of Bethel second. Zach Moore of Bethel won the boys’ event with Kennedy (Tecumseh) second and Kyle Smith (Bethel) third.

Finally the girls 400 Free Relay saw Tecumseh win the event with Northwestern second and Bethel third. In the boys race, Northwestern was first and Bethel second.
