Arrows Continue To Roll

Tecumseh’s girls’ basketball team used a big third quarter to open a close game, as they won their eighth game of the season with a 56-35 win over Sidney.

Sidney led 10-7 after the first period of play, only to see Tecumseh outscore the Jackets 18-11 in the second period to take a 25-21 lead.

In the third, Tecumseh (8-1) clamped down on the Yellow Jackets, outscoring them 19-4 to push their lead out to 44-25, and advanced to the win.

Corinne Thomas, the leading scorer in the CBC, scored 25 points including four more threes, while Presley Griffitts added 23 in the win.

The Arrows are back in action Saturday night, as they travel to Bellefontaine.

Tecumseh Bowling

The Arrows boys’ bowling squad defeated Emmanuel Christian last week 2868-2639. Dylan Terrell led the Arrows with a 235-254, while Al Woosley rolled a 210-206, Matt Brown had 150-227, Jay Woosley 195-171 and Allen Ward 162-174. The Arrows baker scored were 228, 248, 237, 171.

There was no girls’ match.

Tecumseh Swimming

The swim team is back in action on Saturday night at the Shawnee Invitational, then heads to the Trotwood Invitational next Wednesday.

Northwestern Basketball

Northwestern earned a pair of boys’ basketball wins, as they opened the week with a 60-58 overtime win against Northeastern in a non-conference game.

Leading the way for the Warriors was Kurt Waters with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Evan Noffke added 17 and Derek Whip had 11. Ryan Cleland dished out ten assists and Jalan Minney had seven.

Also last week, the Warriors cruised to an easy 73-41 win over Emmanuel Christian.

Northwestern returns to the court at Ben Logan Friday night.

The Northwestern girls’ basketball team lost to Troy last week 53-31, as they could only muster four points in the third period after only trailing at halftime 21-17.

Abby Zerkle led the Warriors with 12 points, while Abbie Grieser added seven.

Northwestern is back in action tonight hosting Shawnee and Saturday they host Indian Lake.
