“Some people come into our lives as lessons. Others come into our life as blessings.”

- St. Mother Teresa

Father Paul Vieson touched many lives in lesson, in blessing, but also as a friend and family and community member. Father Paul Vieson walked on many paths that brought him to The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Carlisle, serving as assistant Pastor since 1987, until a few weeks before his death in 2014.

On Sunday, September 25, 2016 the members of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Lake Ave. came together to remember Father Paul Vieson, not only as their assistant Pastor, but also as a family member and friend. Over seventy-five people gathered to memorialize and dedicate the Community Center of Sacred Heart. This is a tradition started by the first Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church to dedicate the buildings on the property in memory of loved and respected Church members. The rear of the community center, now known as the Father Golembiewski Parish Hall, named in honor of the first Priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1954.

On the glorious September, Sunday morning Father Tom Nevels greeted the Church members and the community dedicated the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Community Center in the name and memory of Father Paul Vieson. “It just felt right to dedicate the Community Center in the name of Father Paul, he was the glue that kept the Church together, as a community and as a whole,” a Church member commented.

Just after Sunday Mass, the congregation gathered for the unveiling of the new sign that reads Father Paul Vieson Center, on the brick building located just to the right of the Church on Lake Drive, formally known as the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Community Center. With the rays of the sunlight shining on the vicinity in such divine eloquence of the event and with Pastor Father Nevels delivering the blessing, the dedication and inauguration of the Community Center in the name of Father Paul Vieson.
