78, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015.  He was born September 19, 1936 in Dayton the son of the late Harvie & Bertie (Stidham) Phipps.  He was the president of Merchant Data Service.  He is survived by his wife, Maurita Phipps; children, Colleen & Bob Gore, Eric Phipps, Shawn Fox, Ginny & Michael Reno; sister, Elaine & John Hempfling; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey & Carl “Champ” Phipps.  Visitation was 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services were at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home.  Burial was in New Carlisle Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
