age 87, was born into eternity on January 30, 2015 at Heartland of Beavercreek, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents  Clemont and Ila Lochner, and great granddaughter MacKenze McCarren. She is one of 5 children, with siblings Arnold, Herbert, Moyne, and Merle Lochner. She is survived by children Mary Essman and John Skahill, grandchildren Ronald McCarren and Dawn McCarren (spouse Butch Cross), and 6 great grandchildren, Aaron McCarren, Darin McCarren, Taylor Finney, Macey Cross, Isabella Cross, and Paisley Cross. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School in Dayton, Ohio, and won many awards as a member of their band, playing the clarinet. She retired from Grandview Hospital as a x-ray technician after many years of service. She volunteered many hours in the early years of the Women’s Recovery Center in Xenia Ohio.  In her retirement years, she was very active in the AA activities in Xenia, Fairborn, Huber Heights, Springfield and New Carlisle areas. She enjoyed books, music, puzzles, bingo, knitting, and crocheting. But she enjoyed dancing and joking around most of all, as well as spending time with family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland of Beavercreek for their love, care, and support over the years, and to let them know that Retha” had the time of her life” there.

Memorial services were held at 11am Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn, Ohio. Visitation 10-11 am Tuesday. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. Condolences may be sent to www.morris-sons.com.
