Crafters from all over Ohio descended on Tecumseh Jr. High Saturday to peddle their wares and help shoppers get an early jump on Christmas shopping during the Tecumseh Marching Arrows Band Boosters’ third annual Christmas Craft Show.

The band boosters’ Vice President, Liz Cress, says this is the first year the boosters took charge of the annual craft show. They received funds from it for two years while they learned how to run the event. Cress says the Christmas Craft Show is one of the band boosters’ largest yearly fundraisers.

The Tecumseh Marching Arrows played Christmas carols while shoppers perused baked goods, hand-painted Christmas décor, handcrafted toiletries, marshmallow shooters, children’s games, and the hundreds of other items available for purchase. Shoppers could also purchase tickets for a 50/50 drawing for any of several door prizes.

Many vendors made their first appearances at the Tecumseh Craft Show after learning about the show through the internet.

Veteran craft show vendors, Karen & Keith Brenneman, of Karen’s Creations in Van Buren, Ohio had a large variety of hand-crafted merchandise available for sale. They commented that business “was steady” at the young show. Desha Rose of “Always & Ever” in Beavercreek offered homemade diffuser jewelry and bath bombs. Rose said how she was impressed with the friendliness of shoppers and the sheer size of the event.

Shopper Ann Gibson says she was “very pleased” with the offerings at the 2017 craft show, “There was so much to choose from, I was able to finish all of my Christmas shopping today...my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves!”

“The Craft Show is a really big event and takes a lot of work,” comments Cress, “We are very lucky in that people really seem to enjoy the event. It just keep growing every year, but it is so worth the work. We are able to offer a lot of support to the entire band program with the money we make, which is great for all of the kids in Tecumseh’s band program.”
