Part of the construction on Rt. 235 in Park Layne was to eliminate the intersection of McAdams Dr. (the access road in front of the shopping center) and Styer Dr.

Wednesday morning, a woman learned that lesson the hard way. She jumped the curb and got stuck in the mud.

“When she hit the curb, she tore off her oil pan,” said Clark County Deputy Nick Anderson. “She was moving at a pretty good clip.”

With her oil pan sheared off, her engine’s oil spilled onto the dirt.

The woman left the scene, but left her purse and keys in the car.

The car was not reported stolen.
