Car enthusiasts will soon be racing to attend Tecumseh Athletic Boosters’ 10th annual Mini-Nationals Car & Truck Show. The popular fundraising event will take place on Aug. 6 and begins at 10:00 a.m. The car show takes place every year on the stretch of historic U.S. Route 40 in front of Tecumseh High School, located at 9830 W. National Rd. in New Carlisle. All proceeds from the event benefit the Tecumseh High School and Middle School athletic programs.

According to Athletic Booster, Debbie Collins, past years have seen up to 270 cars participate in the show. “It’s really neat to see all of the cars and see how excited people get when they see them.”

Show registration is $10.00 and will take place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the day of the show. Spectators can attend for free. The first 200 registrants will receive a dash plaque. New Carlisle’s own Good Vibrations DJ service is providing music for the event; and various vendors and the Tecumseh Athletic Boosters’ concession stand will also be open for business. A raffle of door prizes donated by local businesses, a 50/50 drawing, and an awards ceremony will round out the day’s festivities.

Collins explains that the Tecumseh Athletic Boosters support the Tecumseh athletic programs in several ways; such as purchasing uniforms and t-shirts for athletes, matching funds for projects like the recent high school weight room upgrade, and buying athletic equipment.

“We support our athletes as much as possible. Booster monies are provided for every one of the high school athletic programs...we help the middle school teams as well.

Businesses and individuals interested in donating prizes for the car show raffle may contact the Tecumseh High School Athletic Department at 937-845-4512 by Aug. 2.; all donors will be advertised during the event.

“We are looking forward to having another great show!” says Collins.
