This week at the New Carlisle Public Library, the library is sponsoring several programs.  On Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., the Reader’s Choice Book Club will meet to discuss the books Gone with the Wind and the sequel Scarlett.  On Thursday, the library is offering a Halloween Session at 5:30 p.m. titled Tell a Ghost Story.  Participants will have five minutes to share their own experiences with ghosts.  Apple cider and donuts will be provided.

On November 3 at 6:30 p.m., the library will host a discussion called Wrap up An Organized Holiday!, which will provide tips and advice on making this holiday session stress free.

There will also be a Reiki 102 session at 6:00 p.m. on November 5, 2015.  Reiki is a healing technique in which a therapist channels energy into a patient through touch to activate the natural healing processes.  This is a follow-up session to a program offered earlier this month.

In addition, a workshop is being offered on Teacher Made Wordless Books on November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  Participants will make their own wordless book and learn how to use it to support literacy.  Signup is required.  Homeschoolers and primary teachers are encouraged to attend.

On November 10 form 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Julia Cook and Lindsay Brookhart will present a program on using Essential Oils to stay healthy during the flu season.

On November 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. a new Diabetes Support Group is forming.  In this meeting, the group will discuss goals and establish a meeting schedule.  The group plans to find speakers who can address the disease and teach group members how to live with it.  Sign up is not necessary.

On November 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the library is offering a second Coloring Meditation Session.  Bev Milner will lead the session in teaching participants ways to relax by using coloring and meditation music.

Ongoing programs include a Writers Group that meets every Thursday at 3:00 p.m., a Eat Smart, Stay Active group that meets every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., and a Quilting Group that meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 12:30 p.m.

The library staff encourages all residents to come and explore some or all of the programs that they offer.
